      The critter presented to the masses as "Zuckerberg" was arrested in Arizona. His records, taken from driver's license show his name to be "Greenberg" and it was learned that his grandma's name is "Zuckerman".
      He is about five years younger than the character presented to public, and is only a "poster boy" for the intelligence operation called "Facebook". Years ago an original document was circulated that showed CIA involvement in the foundin of facebook.
      The Greenberg family is interwedded with rockefellers, waltons, disneys and many other rich families. They own the media of communications and have infiltrated the federal government agencies, particularly homeland security. Find Ed Chiarini for more details.

    In Maui Princess. Not a ferry but a dinner cruise boat. Since the Lahaina fire last summer, it has not been able to dock at Lahaina where it is based and has been kept at mooring offshore and has not operated commercially due to shutdown of tourism until town is rebuilt. As news is further released, appears this isn't some rich dude venturing too close to shore to impress the ladies on board. The owner has insurance and boat is stuck in a sand/gravel bank, not a coral reef.

    One of the HUGE problems here on Maui is there is little, if any, over site, approval, inspection or guidance in the design of moorings in Maui! The State and the County turn a blind eye to the way people moor their boats and only after groundings do they act. This behavior is very common in Hawaii, ignore the problem, hope it goes away then act surprised and all official when this stuff happens! Another big problem is there are zero private vessel towing or assistance companies in Maui. If you have a problem on the water the only people you can call is the US Coast Guard.

  • @WillN2Go1
    @WillN2Go1 Před 22 dny +1

    I've sailed in the vicinity of thousands of different ships and boats. Naval ships I've been around haven't used AIS. Fishing boats will often only turn on AIS as we approached, but once they see that our path and theirs won't intersect, they often turn theirs off. Initially this concerned us, but once we figured out this was likely an indication of safe distance we just kept an eye out. This might be because they have limited battery power (small pangas with an outboard) or because they don't want to alert their competitors to where they're fishing. Fishermen also use AIS on the buoys on their larger nets. They seem to leave these on.
    I think a general, but absolutely unofficial, practice is: if you turn off your AIS you actively monitor every vessel in your vicinity.
    Has anyone ever been fined for turning off AIS?

    So, I'm going to let you guys in on something. I say this because my professor runs the MOP here on Maui and my late uncle was once director of the MOP program and a marine science professor at UH Manoa. But there was a push by them for snorkeling and tourist charters for encouraging $1 dollar donations for the maintenance and upkeep of mooring sites like ones at the popular Molokini site. The push got shutdown by the businesses because statistically the amount of donations could run up in to around a million and that wouldn't be going into their pockets. So the sites remain only with maintenance if the budget for the Aquatic resources division have any money left for it.,

    Other question: under normal operation, how often does a ship's AIS broadcast not get received by either land or satellite (giving appearance of AIS being off)? and how long would such events last? Insurance companies could start to monitor a ship's AIS to detetect when it is turned off at which point, they send an email to client announcing coverage is suspended pending the owner explaining why AIS was switched off.

    I've been saying since the fire that a Cruise ship company or the Navy should bring a ship over to house and feed the residents of Lahaina.
    I didn't mean to run it ashore.
    They gave people $700 almost a year ago and walked away.

    Perhaps the insurance companies need to have a device that tracks the frequency and number of hours that AIS is switched off and charge a premium rate for those hours? It's only fair since they have chosen to become a danger to other vessels.

    Mr Jung has a backstory. Being a beach porter to owning the; Maui Princess and the Molikai Princess. Serving both Lahaina and Kannakakai, as island fairy. Mooring at Lahaina is risky, has been for 20+ yrs. When storms or strong waves come, Lahaina's Harbor is not wise spot to Moor. We would do storm watch, and go dock at Kannakakai. This dock on Molokai, is limited to. In how many large ships can dock, for length of time. When the captain took me down to the engine room. I conmented, damn, four Detroits engines, first type of diesel motors I wrenched on. Soon after that, i was made engineer. What a grand time that was...

    If they still keep switching it off with no reason just keep doubling to the fine. 👍👍

    Question: when Zuck shuts AIS off, can the console remain active to display nearby ships? or is it truyly an all-ON or all-OFF thing? From a safety point of view, if you know you can't be seen by others but can see others, you can manoeuver to stay out of the way. if you know you are the only ship with AIS turned off. What is needed is for 2 super rich dudes to collide because both their AIS was turned off. The resulting media coverage would shne focus on the need for even these superrich dudes to run AIS at all times.
    As long as they get away with it, they will continue to turn off AIS.

    • @user-yg4pj8xr1g
      @user-yg4pj8xr1g Před 24 dny

      My husband and I just crossed thru the Canal a few weeks ago on our catamaran. Most boats book their day and time to cross at least 1 month in advance. A yacht the size of Zuckerberg’s also must have a Canal Pilot on board. The boat needs to be in the waiting area outside the locks 3 hours before the departing time.

      Then everyone would do that and all sorts of things could change their schedule, Canal pilots would either be waiting to board or take someone else through anyway! You have to assume that the operators know what works and why.
