What do you think of the new iPhone 15 cameras?? Cop, or not?
It’s good, yes, don’t get me wrong. But I would like to see what truly cinematic footage would look like filmed at 24FPS and some higher frame rates in slow motion using the newest T Series Anamorphic Lenses in conjunction with the Macro to show the true standout qualities you can achieve with the phone should you wish to shoot a cinematic film, for instance.
Maybe a short narrative piece about your favourite woodlands or coffee place, something each member of the team can either do separately or contribute to. I think it would be a great filming exercise and really show off the incredible features even more when you give it a powerful story behind it.
And not simply about the cinematography! One of the photographers on the team could create a photo flip-board story they feel captured the essence of what they want to showcase, and what they are most drawn to.
I think this video is good, but I want to see its deepest capabilities with the lenses, including examples of Anamorphic lenses with CineBloom and Variable ND filters, not to mention Macro and filters too.
It would be a true standout showcase of everything the phones and your lenses can achieve and be a huge selling point, and it would show the character of the people behind the camera, which is always a phenomenal bonus and only adds to the magic.
I hope you can at consider some of these options for a future video or two. Thanks for reading, regardless.
The lens quality doesn't seem groundbreaking, but I think the stabilization and ProRes Log quality is what makes this stand out. Great shots team!

Right I don't believe the cameras themselves are a huge change it's simply having the ability to record virtually processing free videos on a phone.
0:48 is such an amazing shot, just loving how it looks without the over sharpening.
As beautiful as some of these shots look I could not get over how red the skin tones look. Probably a LUT issue but very unforgiving.
Thanks for the feedback! So we actually used LUTs that were created for the Sony FX3, and they worked amazing for other colors but I agree we should've added more green into the skin tones. Definitely will improve on in the next video!

If you shot this in ProRez, any color and contrast issues are due to how the footage was graded. I suspect we’ll see some LUTs designed for this iPhone soon enough. For now, I’m call in the 15 Pro Max a game changer.

This is excellent. There were a few frame rate issues, only that it didn't seem like a smooth 24fps cinematic vibe, but the color correction (which is very cinematic and great) and detail in low light was outstanding. Also, the exterior shots were fantastic. Glad to have this phone and look forward to pairing my lenses with it. I'm pissed though because I purcahsed lenses for the 13pro Max and a case but never used it. Not letting that happen with this. Pretty amazing stuff. Can't put this new 15 pro max to test. I think this would look entirely different in anamorphic. Esp with a 1.55. Complimentary score also. Nice post.

Hey! Are you going to implement the Apple LOG into the Moment App? Or maybe even ProRes? So we could combine this new powerful color profile with manual exposure settings + the Moment lenses at 24fps? ☄
idk how they did olivia rodrigo’s music video to look like it wasn’t shot from an iphone but it’s CRAZY GOOD (also, probably 90% thanks to the lighting set and rigs they’ve used)

It's no Sony Alpha, and obviously comparing it to the Arris or RED is out of the question....but these iPhone ability for Cinematic has come a long ways
I personally wouldn’t call this Cinematic, but great shots nonetheless.
I think shooting in 24fps for natural rendition of motion would’ve made a big difference. The shots look very unnatural and jittery. Almost artificial.
Along with something about the way the sensor renders information - over sharpening, etc. Perhaps the files could’ve been pushed a little more to combat it. Not sure. Phone footage requires a lot more than cine cams and mirrorless cams to look cinematic.
Great shots though! Color grade is nice too aside from the skin tones in a couple of shots.
Based on your previous work, I know what you guys are capable of, so I look forward to see your future videos with this camera.
Is it worth it upgrading from 13 pro ? I record a lot of videos in 4k 60 and it is my only way to record
Really good but I think there is no great difference to the picture quality of my iPhone 14 pro max 😉 top editing and grading by the way
Great video but compared to the previous “Cinematic Cuts” for the iPhone this video could’ve been more “cinematic” by using moment lenses and vnd filters to get the most out of the footage. But still an awesome video! (: 👍

Good to see...this tech helps minimize and make guerrilla creations - run gun shooting so much easier than having to tote around a bunch o damn gear , rigs , etc. Good to see!
What’s up with the Hellboy skin tones?
Looks stunning, but I think part of the problem with shooting on iPhone is the motion, it looks like a small camera. A lot of that is the stabilisation and shutter speed, that the shutter speed is usually crazy high. This is very easily remedied. Use filmic pro and ND filters.

In all seriousness, you guys have been providing a lot of content for years that helps us do things like this. I really appreciate it. Understanding that extra lenses and gimbals will definitely improve our work, I’d love to see a video on how we can achieve results like this with nothing but our phones.

I still don’t understand how every “cinematic iPhone 15 Pro” video doesn’t have the right shutter speed. In every “cinematic” tutorial you get that ND filters and the right shutter speed is the key to get cinematic video, but noone uses that in these iPhone videos. It’s just a prores log showcase. 👀
totally agree, it doesn't look cinematic at all! The thing is you can not adjust the shutter speed or ISO in video mode, you need a third party app🤣

Id like to see an actual narrative shot on one of these. Everyone just does some sorta nature or travel or food or running/walking thing. It's dumb. I can make a great video of that kids stuff with my old blackberry. I want to see a narrative story with dialogue. Do that and I'll be convinced. 😊

Close shots will always be mid and not impressive. Outside shots are impressive because of stabilization. Nice to have always in the pocket but definitely feels like quality is just stuck for now. The creaminess, separation and compression will always be something to miss
Every year it’s the same nonsense. iPhone, camera, high promises, underwhelming. These phones will never hang with great DSLRs or higher.
