What a great Video Drew! Best I have seen from any dealership. The Teck perspective is wonderful compared to a sales perspective!
When I make my purchase can you come camp with me for a few days to teach me, seriously, I am that impressed!
Fantastic overview Drew! Very helpful and thorough explanation of the T@B 400!
Thanks for watching!
Wow. That was one of the best videos I have seen. Give Drew a raise. (Thumbs up)
This was so great! Thank you! We are expecting our 400 Boondock in a few months and there’s a lot to learn.
Congratulations!
One of the very best technical reviews I have seen. A very articulate in depth review. I have been thinking about an airstream Basecamp x, however due to the numerous quality and then service issues with Airstreams, I think I Will probably going with this option.
We love Nucamp! Let us know if we can help with grabbing a new trailer!
Quality and service issues with Airstreams? Hmmm....most Airstream owners I've talked to rave about Airstream quality and cite quality and reputation as the primary reason for purchase. Who is telling you Airstream has quality problems?
@@davervatx8814 CZcams reviews, airstream forums, looking back over several years of reviews and people still complaining about the same issues. I don’t write them, I just read them.
@@tangobravo8889 Fair enough. I'm not an Airstream employee or advocate or anything, but you're literally the first person I've seen complain about Airstream quality as a reason NOT to purchase one. All RV's have issues - every last one, from cheapest to most expensive, including NuCamp and Airstream RV's. Overall though, the consensus seems to be that both are high-quality RV manufacturers. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Happy travels!
@@davervatx8814 I completely understand that all RV’s can have issues,. A number of years ago I owned a well known brand diesel pusher with slide so I have a general idea of RV ownership. I will be the first to admit that I am not an expert. Having said that, I am now retired and plan on purchasing another RV so with the help of all the social media platforms I have been doing as much research as possible. I will be buying new and paying cash for whatever I purchase. My main focus has been in the direction of Airstreams. However, after my research I have decided my money would be better spent on one of the different purchase options.
That’s just my personal impression and decision, I am sure others would have their own.
Awesome tour guy, really appreciate it. Thank you.
In the outside “wet bay”, what is the other switch by the water pump switch for?
EXTREMELY VALUABLE! Thanks!
I love the Tab 400. However, it seems to me the only real problem most
people are having is the location of the microwave. Very unusable, other
than for storage. Change location of microwave to lower cabinet area,
or take out all together. Too bad a larger fridge couldn't be designed in.
Such a thorough review! Kudos.
Thanks!
Super video...thank you
What's the best genarator to run the ac for this ?
After I pre-cool the fridge and load it for my trip, what setting should it be on WHILE traveling several days to reach destination? I will be boondocking when traveling and camping at Big Bend and will use propane once sett up at camp.
I didn't hear you mention the size of the bed & is it a standard size that you could replace it with a different mattress, if you don't like the one it comes with ?? I don't like the kitchen sink & faucet. Thanks for the info,.
Hi Folks...good show, thank you. A few questions for you, please: 1) If you have City Water on and pressurized through the Nautilus system, do you need to have the water pump turned on? 2) If you are plugged in to home power (15amp) and 'storing the camper" but without the water with glycol, does the battery need to be switched off or left on? 3) If the shower water never seems to get hot enough, what do you need to do?
Very thorough. Thank you.
I think this was a Boobdock edition. Where was the solar panel controller? Thanks! Andy
Great instructional video. Do you have any videos detailing the use of the Alde system & the Dometic system? Thanks.
We usually leave those to the specific instruction manuals, but those are great ideas for future videos, thanks!
Are you a member of the nucamp forum? There is a GREAT unofficial operating manual written by a t@b owner that is extremely helpful for just about everything related to a 400, plus tips on fuses, tools, packing and towing. I've used it for troubleshooting issues and found it to be a great resource.
@@chaosncheckt9356 Forum where? Do you have a link?
@@chaosncheckt9356 I’d be interested in the location of the forum as well!
@@iPhoneSpy Andy, my previous reply was deleted. Not sure why but here is hoping this one goes through. tab-rv.vanillacommunity.com
Great video. I just purchased a 2021 Tab 400 Boondock and went out to try heating using propane. I set the display for the temperature I wanted and set it to propane, but the radiant heat never activated. I could hear something running but nothing coming out of vents or from floor. Does it take a while to activate. I did auto ignite the the stove to bleed the propane lines. What else should I try?
It takes a long while to start working
What is the current lead time to order and get delivery of a Tab 400 Boondock?
We have some coming as early as December! Give us a call for availability! (512)251-4536
Does this have a gray/black tank heater? I noticed he mentioned the heater at 12:05.
The heater is just for the fresh water
That part of the video seems to have been edited out. Is the fresh tank heater a thing?
Where do you put the sewer hoses?
Another high-quality technical tour! THANKS! Is there a way to secure the unit so that it can't be moved from a site while the tow vehicle is away for shopping or day-trips?
There are some good tongue lock options available. We have also seen some good wheel "boots" that would definitely slow someone down. A combination of the two might be a good setup.
@@RVTechToursatPrincessCraft THANKS!
James. I use a tongue lock from FtKnoxLocks.com. The lock is large enough to secure your chains as well though I normally just use it to lock the hitch. I use a wheel lock as well.
I have 2019 (April) t@b 400 boondock lite with the Cool Cat in front. Can I replace my tongue storage tub with this 2021 configuration? I like the larger storage tub and the platform.
We haven't replaced the front tub on a T@B 400, that I know of, so far. The team at nüCamp will be able to help you with this answer pretty quickly. Contact them here: 844-823-9112 ext 834 OR help@nucamprv.com
Do you know the power draw of the 2 way fridge option?
hi. is that a different style vinyl floor?
OK, I have to ask...what the heck are the two round, black plastic buttons on both shoulders of the technician's shirt?
Bluetooth speakers. It keeps his tunes near him, doesn't cover his ears so he's still aware of what's going on around him... and it doesn't bother the other guys in the shop if they don't have the same musical preferences!
Did I miss the black hose storage?
There is not one on this unit, most people install one right behind the propane tanks and battery on the tongue.
What is the purpose of the red switch below the pump switch (inside the nautilus system)?
That is a switch for the tank heater :)
Tank heater for 4 season camping? To keep tanks from freezing in cold weather?
@@RVTechToursatPrincessCraft I don't think this switch is even connected to anything. There's no tank heaters on these trailers.
Is there plans to update the keeter rail anytime soon? ( like they did on 320) nice video.
Hi Mark, we haven't heard anything about that on the TAB 400
@@RVTechToursatPrincessCraft thanks for the response. I know what's going to happen, I'll buy the 400 then they'll come out with all the upgrades. I'm going to hold out as long as I can. Maybe I'll get another 320. Just really want a dedicated bed. The cushions on the 320 didn't work for me when sleeping.
@@marklundeen1025 Is there not a Keeter rail on the 400?
@@davervatx8814 yes there's a keeter rail, but it's the old style. The 320 got a new rail that looks a lot cleaner and doesn't come apart when you don't want it to. I don't know why they would fix one trailer and not the other. It just doesn't make sense to me.
@@davervatx8814 There is. We have both an "eye lid" awning and a Walker awning.
Propane Quick connect for external grill ?
I have not seen one yet. I purchased a LP hose that I can connect to my LP tank and then to my small Coleman grill. It's about 4-5' I think but you may be able to purchase longer ones.
Don’t like the sink and faucet. No reason you couldn’t have a free standing faucet.
Can I tow this with a new Mini Cooper ?
Unfortunately not, you will need a bigger tow vehicle!
@george stephen A joke, right?
a first ,,....second ,..
40+ thousand dollars really.
After owning two other “mainstream” RVs built by other companies, I can say you get what you pay for. These are hand built by Amish craftsmen in Ohio using the best of the best materials and components. My other RVs started falling apart after about a year. These are a bargain compared to Airstream campers which are of similar quality.
Extremely well built and worth every penny. I had to saved for a long time to finally be able to purchase one😊.
