Thanks for the video
If your sawing something your creating waste... Sawdust!! 😝😝😝😝
thats really cool idea
I feel like I was just invited to the Magic Castle and a magician just told me how to do this amazing illusion. I’m going to have to watch this a few more times out in the workshop this weekend.
I recently mounted a tv in my shop for exactly this reason. That and football season lol
Yes
@@ugosmith7529 I haven’t had it mounted for more than a month and I love it. If I’m trying something new I can follow step by step without looking down at my tiny phone.
You and me both! That was fantastic
Why i think matematician create this proses?
I've made lamps using this technique, laminating different woods to create the original blank. They turn out really cool. I really like the very helpful stuff you continually put out here on the interwebs. Thanks James!
Ahh! light bulb goes on. You trim the outer edges to make a passage for the wiring. Thanks. I'll be trying that one.
@@spamdump4459 damn that's smart, sure beats tryna find a big enough drill to go through
First rhing i thought when watching this was 'damn, now i need to go make a lamp'. I had the exact same thought @Spam Dump
Whomever thought this up for the first time is an utter genius. This was so inspiring. Thank you!
Drill some holes! They can line up internally for dowel pins, and this makes glue-up and setting much simpler, as alignment is fixed.
The holes on the faces of the uncut form will come together, so the holes just need to be level and equally spaced from the uncut edges on each face, no measuring around corners needed.
Ooohh you could stain the pieces different colors to see what kind of look you get. This is just brilliant!
It might be less interesting than disguising the glue seam.
I've always wondered how this was done but never enough to find out because I simply figured it was a laborious process. I'm in awe by how simplistic the process really is. Thank you!
Bigger parts were partially made by bending a young tree long before it was going to be felled! (when wooden ships were still in use)
@@edi9892 that practice is still in use kinda for big ornate homes for people who want and can afford it.
Once again another SN video makes me want to go straight out and pick up tools to try something out. My neighbours might not thank you since your videos tend to drop late in the UK, but I certainly do.
I thought he was going to show us how to steam the wood from home without tons of expensive equipment. This is much easier. Thanks.
This looks like hours of fun and experimenting! Things like this are what keep my kids coming back to the barn, I can’t wait to rewatch this with them.
James does a fine job of presenting a balance of useful and interesting information about all things pertaining to woodworking. His style is clear and articulate, avoiding fake affectation of folksiness.
This is incredible. It's like a magic trick!
When I found your channel you blew my mind. I am extremely happy and inspired by what you do. I recently started woodworking and your advice is so helpful. Thank you for your beautiful work and smart advice.
Wow that blows my mind. I can't believe it's so simple!
Thanks for the tip!
I watch a lot of woodworking videos. This is one of the better videos I’ve seen in terms of clear, concise instruction and you even brought up what can go wrong and how to prevent it. I watched the video one time and I will never forget how to do it. Good job, I wish more creators followed this recipe for being user friendly.
Thanks James!
That's great, this is the kind of video that really adds to your woodworking knowledge and opens up new possibilities for new designs. Thanks!
