Thank God I cant go to those! I'd be broke in 10 minutes! Always love what you do and explain so much. Retired cabinet maker and 50 plus hand planes, and 150 chisels i think, etc. Thankyou Scott for all your wonderful takes and passion for tools and their heritage. Bryan from Canada.
Amazing the change 22 minutes of positivity can have. I always find your episodes interesting and funny and appreciate your time to make them. Nowadays the positive attitude is REALLY a breath of fresh air.
my "like" just brroke the 1,000 likes mark. Since binging your channel, i notice most of your vids are usually around the 900 likes area. Fantastic channel, very calming and soothing- better than the news for sure!! ❤️🇺🇸
The chisel really pops with the renewed steel and red handle. Helluva good tip cutting that one inch belt down. Getting full of tools and not buying more, the struggle is real 🤣
Fantastic tool show, wish we had those here in UK, I love the one dollar tool clean ups, all were equally good, you definitely have the skills.. always look forward to your vids 🇬🇧
Mr. John you got your money's worth! And we did too..great episode! I'm looking forward to some cooler weather to be able to knock a bunch of things off my ever growing list😳 enjoyed it!
Late comment….. but you got that vice on a dollar table? Jeez, Man! I’d buy them all day at that price! I couldn’t walk past it either. Sweet score, John. Keep up the good work. BIG fan of your work and your channel🇦🇺💖 🇺🇸
Looks like I missed a good swap meet. I would have picked up the pocket hole saw. Next time. Great clean up of the one dollar tools. Looking forward to the Estwing hammer.
Great video John! I like your $1 finds. I have to say I liked the ratchet clean up the best. However all of the projects turned out very nice. Thank You for sharing!
I'm pretty sure I saw snoopy but you definitely taught me something about polished plastic!! That building looked really cool the exposed beams where very interesting!! Definitely some cool tools you picked up for a buck I would have bought them all lol
Nice assortment of tools. They all turned out great. I'm having a hard time trying to pick a favorite, I like them all. Darn, I must have been too focused on the tools and never saw snoopy...Thanks ScoutCrafter for another enjoyable video!
Loved the video! The ratchet was my favorite! Thanks to you I can't stop buying old screwdrivers! I'm surprised you didn't go further with the acetate handle on the wood chisel. That red would pop in the light. Theres a guy at my local fle market that I always get fifty cent tools. " I ask him how much and he says" .50 cents if you think its worth it." I give him a dollar. Love the content! Thank you!
Those spade bits worked great, interesting configuration. The punch looked super. I never saw a ratchet with a switch like that. The chisel looks great, also. No wonder that you couldn’t resist. That hammer looks interesting.
Great job on all of them, but I would haft to give the blue ribbon to the punch. It's really a piece of art in its beauty and simplicity. Always a pleasure to see you bring new life to a forgotten tool.
Great One Dollar items. I have to pay more attention with plastic in order to clean up some screwdrivers. 357 MagDad has a real knack for plastic handles as well.
Ohhh! Here I thought I had tool addiction, $.50-$1.00 tables, I would have to back a truck up to the door to load it all.😎🤣. The chisel and splitting the sanding belt, I learned a new trick today. Thank you sir, enjoyed the video.
Great episode mate. I would have fallen off the wagon for those tools too. Loved the “poor man’s” half inch belt sander. I have had my 1 x 30 sander for years and it has never dawned on me to do that. Simple yet effective.
Hi Scout , Some Good Stuff There . I like the Ratchet . I Think I had One Once. I've Been going to the Flea market every Weekend . I got A Nice pair of Channellock 907g for A Buck ! Love the Dollar Stuff ! It Needed Evaporust . But Looks Great Now. The Handles We're Brand New Blue !
Hi Terry- There is no better feeling then getting together with a bunch of people who have similar interests. Everyone that comes to the meet is friendly and humble. Once you get pretty handy with tools you quickly realize just how much we DON'T know about so many things and that is the best place to be. Thanks!
24 pounds of pure goodness! Lol. My favorite. The chisel ! I like chisels. Second. The punch. Man that looked good from the start to finish. Yes dollar tables will get ya. Just like estate auctions the one boxes of goodies. Oh boy look out when those start selling. Kris goes bananas! Good stuff John keep em coming!
Favourite had to be the chisel Scoutcrafter, just love the job you and Magdad do on those plastic handles! Lovely episode to watch as always, take care my friend 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇬🇧✌️
I can't pick a favorite you picked from the dollar table. They all cleaned up beautifully. That tool meet would have been loads of fun to attend. I just live to far away. I saw Sno6py during the punch and ratchet cleanups. He is getting sneakier.
Whenever you go to a meet or tool show, wear lots of padding. Because you are going to fall off the wagon every time 🤣🤣. It's hard to pick, but the ratchet wrench was probably my favorite of the clean ups. But those spade bits were pretty neat also, with a little sharpening they would be super.
Very good episode the tool show ones are always a treat. As far as the cleanups well I liked all of them of course. But as a fav I've gotta give it up to the chisel, very nice. Thanks for a great vid, have a great day!👍👍
Many thanks again for the shout out!👍... Missed the tool meet. I always get confused with the dates. I’m always thinking it’s on the last Wednesday of the given month lol
Those dollar/euro/pound things get me in trouble. Not for the money but it's the space! So much headache when I get home. And I'm not fast like you so before something gets a clean up... I've just been putting up scaffolding for regrouting my walls. Always something to do, while this is pretties time of year! Hope you'll have a great week!
Alex- Yes, you are so right, they pile up and we store them away and forget we have them until one day we are moving a big cardboard box and it is heavy! Look inside and say, When did I get this?> LOL Still I love the dollar tables!
Those Spade style drill bits are awesome! They look like a combination of a auger bit and a spade bit. Auger bits can be too aggressive and Spade bits and tear stuff up. I like that combination. Thanks for giving them some love and a good home!
Though all the $1 tools I think are quite awesome. My favorite was the ratchet. How neat. Never seen one with the push button selector switch. Very cool. And I really like how that red handle came out on the chisel. Beautiful!
Love your attention to detail l have been trying to retire for a year now maybe you showed me some ways to be productive on the cheaper side fixed everyone’s honey due list l just need to stay busy thanks for your time helping people in more ways than you may know
Tool meets or our local equivalent, flea market/farmers market have “tool tarps”. Scattered goodies all in a jumble, I’ll sift through them and pile them up and wait for the total. Rarely do I question what they are asking when they don’t care about the value; their happy, I’m happier. Great stuff as usual today and last week too; your fan episode now has me looking for fans, now next it’s motors. What is a person to do?
You8 sure have some great tool shows. We have nothing like that where I live or nearby. But that's a good thing because I am following your example and quit buying tools. Some great $1 tools.
“That damn dollar table” l love it…your inability to pass up a tool deal is just like mine! The wife says we are addicted! I mentioned the purses and shoes but it turned out to be the wrong thing to say! Looks like I’m eating at the Waffle House tonight! Really good video!
John- It's true we are addicted but it's so much better then spending the cash at a bar or gambling... I'm sure she is just ribbing you a little for fun... Plus- Belgium waffles are great! =D
I was Snoopyless this time but maybe later. GOOD fix on the 3 and I like the punch best. The Sea Bee ironworking Uncle got me started on Bull pins and buck-up bars early so tapers and pin punches have a special place with me. I watched the meet on Tommy Gunn's channel and you STILL look like a hit man! Happy week and God Bless! And I file my spade bits like some of the ones you have but the latest batch re in a class by theirselves!
Another great job John. That dollar tackle had some nice stuff. Very very hard to pass up. The chisel came out fantastic. The shine you put on the handle is amazing. I thought the punch was Starrett but they usually put their stamp on the neck below the head. But it sure looks like a super quality punch. I’ve never seen a ratchet like the push style. I have a broken selector on a Craftsman “V” style 1/2” ratchet. I tried to find a repair kit but they want crazy price, more than buying a new one. I’ll keep looking. I started organizing my tools into the new US General tool box from Harbor Freight. Made in Taiwan and is super quality, not like some of the China crap. As I loaded up my tools, I looked at all the “patina” on many of them. As soon as I get everything organized, I’ll start draw by draw and get them back into respectable shape. Thanks for your “News” comment. I’m waiting for the tide to turn, and think it won’t be that long. Until then, I’m with you. Focus on the fine things in life and stay away from the lying bastards in the media. Thanks for another great video. Best Regards, John
Great tool haul ‼️ That leather handled hammer is a sheet metal hammer used for assembling sheet metal duct work. I have one in my kit for sheet metal work 🤠
You know you got it bad when you judge your tool haul by weight...lol Is it bad that I bought a little wagon for My next flea market excursion? Nice job on all of the tools, John. I cannot chose a favorite. George
I don't personally eat fast food, but my buddy does. Every time he gets some, he grabs me a handful of those really large straws for the milkshakes they turn upside down in front of you. I guess I'm sort of a cheap bastard, I use these on the smaller end mills to keep them from banging into each other in the drawers. For the larger stuff, I used to use a piece of shag carpet but that used up a lot of room. Now I get the thinner variation of that rust preventing drawer liner and cut it twice as long as I need. I just let it coil up and this gives me the ability to have material between the cutters. It's not 100%, but I'm not whipping my drawers shut either. For on the actual machine, I have this crenulated chunk of cast iron that I carry with the various bits for a particular job. I learned only last year let this object was a cooking product! Time flies in the shop featured one and it was quite surprising to see my random junkyard chunk in somebody else's hands! I had not and I have not seen another since. Although I did have the same error as Keith Rucker when I found a pair of monarch tool handles on eBay very inexpensively. We both made the same mistake, assuming them to go to a machine tool. It turned out that they were designed for a wood cooking stove, haha. I'm quite pleased to report that they fit a Milwaukee milling machine absolutely perfectly!
It was a great tool swap, probably the best in the last two years (because of Covid). So, there were a lot of tables with really great stuff. You proved it with with this score! Everything you restored came out like gold. Nice job again!
Hey Ralph! It was great seeing you again! Did Jamie tell you he also runs a bicycle meet there also every other month…. I love that meet-up! I was looking for you but you must have slipped out unseen. 😂. I bought those two Daisy 25’s! 😂👍
I did get the email about the bike show. I'm not much into them but I do respect the craftsmanship that Jamie and others put into the bike making. Yeah, I did slip out- had to go home and make dinner. Great score on the BB rifles. Boy do they bring back memories! Let’s hope to see them restored. Hint Hint.
I am not fond of spade bits, but the design of the ones you picked up cut very well, almost like a Forstner bit. Nice find. I liked the rachet best of the $1 table purchases. The plastic on the chisel cleaned up very well. Dave.
Most inexpensive spade bits just make a hole (with plenty of tear-out) I think that's why serious woodworkers don't like them. However for the average home owner who needs bigger hole they will work. =D Thanks!
Wow some great stuff scout the wrench came up great I noticed all the tools after The wire brush they look good that’s good steel the stuff today doesn’t behave like that I started using plastx best plastic polish by far great video love the length. 👍🙏🦅🗽🇺🇸🇳🇿
Great video Scout. Those $1 tables are ridiculous at what you get for your dollar. I saw you grabbed that SP tool box for Tom so it wasn’t out long and that big Wilton bullet vice at $375 would have been coming home with me. BB guns on a table like that would get you arrested by a SWAT team here in Australia. I think my favourite was the centre punch, came out great, I have a soft spot for a nice centre punch and have heaps of them. I asked you ages ago about Estwing making True Temper hammers and I have put out a video restoring it and I’m sorry, but I dropped you right in it my friend. Cheers, Stuart at Scrounga’s Workshop. 👍👍👍 ps, I missed Snoopy altogether 🤬
Stuart! We all like the $1 tables and Tarps! 😃👍. I am sure you could have gotten that bullet vise much cheaper! They aren’t too rare here. I’ll get on that Estwing very soon! 😃👍
I do like those punches but its always good to watch a plastic handle restoration. Interesting the GripAll pliers you showed had the end sedated groove screw remover feature and yesterday MagDad357 had a square/hex feature in the same spot on a multi use plier he showed. Not a real common feature on pliers.
Can't blame you for buying the BB Guns, I love those Old Guns.......Some really great items but I want to see if the Oil Filter Wrench really works well or not, never ever seen one like that before but I instantly knew what it was.
Hi Bryan! So glad you are enjoying the content! I was good up to the dollar table then I was off the wagon! LOL Thanks!!
Dang, that dog picks some good hiding places,, 😂,, I missed every one,, 🤣
Amazing the change 22 minutes of positivity can have. I always find your episodes interesting and funny and appreciate your time to make them. Nowadays the positive attitude is REALLY a breath of fresh air.
I like the color of the chisel handle ...The punch has a really nice shape to it
watching your videos has got me addicted to old tools and restoring them i’m not as good as you but i’m learning
You nailed it John, they're just sitting there, at the dollar table, waiting for someone to pick em up and bring them back to life!!! Love that punch!
That proto chisel seems like double hardened steel,sir...You got a treasure...Stanley my favorite...and I'm definetly blind...I didn't see Waldo...😁

Those spade bits are freakin beautiful, I also dug the punch, yet all of it was nice, really enjoyed the video as always.
The chisel really pops with the renewed steel and red handle. Helluva good tip cutting that one inch belt down. Getting full of tools and not buying more, the struggle is real 🤣
😂😂😂😂. “The struggle is real”. 😂👍
Great finds. The chisel turned out really nice. I like the red handle.
We have to get Scout to do some woodworking. That'll open a whole new world of tools for him. The chisels, planes and hand saws. Oh my!
Fantastic tool show, wish we had those here in UK, I love the one dollar tool clean ups, all were equally good, you definitely have the skills.. always look forward to your vids 🇬🇧

Man you killed it at the dollar table! A lot of enablers lol! I always like those Stanley ratchets with the switch.
Chris always brings great stuff at great prices…. I just finished Wednesday’s video featuring the rest of the show stuff! 😃👍
Fantastic haul. So looking forward to seeing the restorations. By far my favorite channel.

There was a table there with tooLs, 4 for a buck!
I love dollar bins. Nice job restoring the tools dignity!
Great episode mate. I would have fallen off the wagon for those tools too. Loved the “poor man’s” half inch belt sander. I have had my 1 x 30 sander for years and it has never dawned on me to do that. Simple yet effective.
Rob - The 1/2” belts really come in handy for tight spaces! 😃👍
That hammer center right looks like the ones that were made in school shop class. I pick them up once in a while if they are in good shape.

Ooooooo that tap wrench! I try not to covet.🤣😁
Thanks for doing these videos.
I can't pick a favorite you picked from the dollar table. They all cleaned up beautifully. That tool meet would have been loads of fun to attend. I just live to far away. I saw Sno6py during the punch and ratchet cleanups. He is getting sneakier.

What great finds for a buck. I really like how the chisel turned out.
That Stanley push button ratchet is nifty!
That toggle ratchet is so cool. I am gonna have to try cutting a belt down, what a great idea. Cheers
Fantastic job on each of these! And those spade bits are impressive!
I like all three 👍. I am addicted to the dollar table lol. Have a great week.

Many thanks again for the shout out!👍... Missed the tool meet. I always get confused with the dates. I’m always thinking it’s on the last Wednesday of the given month lol
Rich- 4th Wednesday of every other month. 😃👍
You are the ratchet master!
@@ScoutCrafter oh ok I make a note of that. I’ll catch you on the next one. Thanks again my friend 👍
The punch looks like what I made in shop class. This might be the pride and joy of some long-ago high school kid.
Same thing, I made one that looks a lot like that when I was in Jr. High Metal Shop.
Great Job!! I enjoy the tool show portion very much!! I see a ton of stuff that I woulda brought home ! 😁
Wow, you did a lot today. Love every piece.
Always interesting and informative content. Thank you.
I really wish there were events and meets like this in my area. I know my wife is glad there aren’t any.
Really nice haul of tools and great prices too wow I would have bought a lot too ! Beautiful punch and chisel too 👍
Looking forward to seeing more creative videos like this one 👍👍👍
Another excellent video John. I love those low cost tools..
Very nice. Great scores indeed. I am inspired to
head out to the shop !!
...great show, good prices, have a great week....
That punch is my favorite, but by golly you did a great job on all three.

Great episode Scoutcrafter! Take care 😃👍🏼
Great stuff! 🛠👍😊
Good video! The red handled chisel is my favorite. They are beveled edge to clean out dovetails as they can reach the corner. Thanks for the video
thank you Scoutcrafter, I always learn a little trick or tip while watching your videos. Your explanations are terrific.
Great show buddy. Been in the 70’s here.
Today was awesome, next two months are normally uncomfortable for me. I like 60 degrees! 😃👍
Definitely liking the Stanley ratchet with the spiral lock ring and rocker switch selector. Chisel came out great too.
You are really good at refining equipment
I have already told my family when they are taking me in a hearse to my final resting place, they need to stop at any garage sales on the way.
John, Another great episode .
Nice work 👍 gonna keep my eye out for one of those Stanley ratchets…as if I need another ratchet
Those Spade style drill bits are awesome! They look like a combination of a auger bit and a spade bit. Auger bits can be too aggressive and Spade bits and tear stuff up. I like that combination. Thanks for giving them some love and a good home!
You do nice work. I love what you’re doing on this channel. It inspires me to clean up some tools my brother gave me.
Though all the $1 tools I think are quite awesome. My favorite was the ratchet. How neat. Never seen one with the push button selector switch. Very cool. And I really like how that red handle came out on the chisel. Beautiful!

You can turn any one dollar tool into a $10 tool. Nice!
Wow some great stuff scout the wrench came up great I noticed all the tools after
The wire brush they look good that’s good steel the stuff today doesn’t behave like that
I started using plastx best plastic polish by far great video love the length. 👍🙏🦅🗽🇺🇸🇳🇿
Matt- I have to agree- PlastX is such a great product! I wish more people would give it a shot! Inexpensive too! Thanks!
I was thinking that chisel was probably Millers Falls. I always love their look
Hi Mark- Me too but after some research I found this one was Fuller…. 😃👍
Can't blame you for buying the BB Guns, I love those Old Guns.......Some really great items but I want to see if the Oil Filter Wrench really works well or not, never ever seen one like that before but I instantly knew what it was.
It’s super cool but I am wondering if it will slip or not! 😃👍
