Thank you Dr. Imes! Your teaching is reaching me here in South-East Asia and it is very much treasured! God bless you for your devotion to glorify Him ❤
"What you do is ultimately out of your control, but how you do it is entirely in your control"...very profound.
So glad I came across this teaching(originally heard on naked bible podcast). What a powerful word and needed in this time.
Dr. Carmen, you are so witty!
I enjoy very much the clarity and fluency of your eloquent discourse.
To me it proves your point: doing your job with excellency matters much more than what the job is.
Thank you, Marcus! These are kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the message.
I wish I could like this video a thousand times..thanks a lot for this . From a little town in Mexico.
Wow! Such a powerful and encouraging word. This is what I needed to hear today. Thank you Dr. Imes
Thanks for watching, Matthew!
This was so good! Thank you Carmen for your faithfulness to the scriptures

Carmen
Thank you so much for this message. I have found this after listening to your recent interview with Tim & John. What a great way to model discussion with others on understanding scripture. This message has come just at the right time for me, a time of work transition and I have found it to be very helpful and a real encouragement. Thanks so much. Steve from the UK
AMEN, AMEN, AMEN, AMEN
Read the book and enjoyed listening to the message too. Thank you.
Wow connecting this to what Peter says. that changes everything.
This is so beautiful!!
Wonderful Reminder of the Power in knowing WHO we are WITH! Your name was brought up and a paper from you quoted at a women's conference this week by Dr. Maggie? (she said she knew you from Wheaton College) I had to look you up & came across this RICH video. Would love to read that paper you wrote in regards to our gifts being wrapped in suffering… You listed multiple examples.
Hello, Heather! So glad you enjoyed the video! The article she shared is from my blog. Here's a link: carmenjoyimes.blogspot.com/2013/12/naming-gifts.html
Encouraging, thanks for sharing.
This was great. I"s this from one of your books?
Yes! I was speaking on my latest book, 'Bearing God's Name: Why Sinai Still Matters' published by IVP. Here's a link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/0830852697?pf_rd_r=5A67RW38YYNS29SPTD8X&pf_rd_p=edaba0ee-c2fe-4124-9f5d-b31d6b1bfbee
Ordered your book. Looking forward to reading it. I think the OT is much neglected in the church today.
@@gdavispsi agreed! I hope you enjoy the book! Maybe you could gather a group of friends (virtually, if needed) and read it together! The book has discussion questions, links to Bible Project videos, and suggested Scripture readings for each chapter.
@@CarmenJoyImesPhD Cool. I have an Adult Bible Study Group that I am always looking for fresh material. I use a lot of the Bible Project videos. Did I hear you on another video that you have a companion guide?
@Gary Davis, yes! You can find companion videos here (by subscription): seminarynow.com/programs/bearing-gods-name?rfsn=4460421.0a21f3
