KC and The Sunshine Band played at the Ontario Place Forum in Toronto on the evening of July 26th , 1977. They had to close Ontario Place in the afternoon because of the overcapacity crowd. Ontario Place was built over the waters of Lake Ontario. People were swimming across the channel or stealing boats to get to the show. Now I can see why!

KC is so extremely talented. I remember being 6 years old when this song came out! He had the best band in the world backing him, and the great backup singers too! Perfection. So much energy in every show they ever did. I loved his smile.

Friday Night, 77, we return from watching a high school basketball game, turn on the tv: KC/Sunshine & That's the Way I Like It. The 70's became brighter. He, They, were outstanding.
The best act of the disco era, The Bee Gees had more hits but how could they stand so still performing ? As Elvis Presley once said , “ you have to move, you can’t still doing the music !”
What happened to the other touring horn players? I've found the drummer, Robert Smith died in 1983, and that Jerome smith, the guitar player died in 2000. Digging deep, I found Ronnie Smith (brother of guitar player Jerome), the 1st trumpet player died in 2012 , and that Denvil Liptrot, the sax player died in 2018. I haven't been able to find ANYTHING on Charles Williams (trombone ) or James Weaver (2nd trumpet).

Friday Night, 77, we return from watching a high school basketball game, turn on the tv: KC/Sunshine & That's the Way I Like It. The 70's became brighter. He, They, were outstanding.
No one can not get up and dance to KC's songs! Saw him & the band in Ontario in 2015! They rocked!!!!! Best time I'd had in a long time.👍

The best act of the disco era, The Bee Gees had more hits but how could they stand so still performing ? As Elvis Presley once said , “ you have to move, you can’t still doing the music !”
What a great band . SO SAD THE HORN PLAYERS , DRUMMER AND GUITAR PLAYER ARE ALL PASSED AWAY.
What happened to the other touring horn players? I've found the drummer, Robert Smith died in 1983, and that Jerome smith, the guitar player died in 2000. Digging deep, I found Ronnie Smith (brother of guitar player Jerome), the 1st trumpet player died in 2012 , and that Denvil Liptrot, the sax player died in 2018. I haven't been able to find ANYTHING on Charles Williams (trombone ) or James Weaver (2nd trumpet).

I watch this performance and the freedom of black and white singing and dancing together and wonder why today a political group is striving hard to divide America and bring back the racism that we left behind in the 60's.

unbelievable. I was a teenage boy when I first saw this on a Saturday night. Had not seen it since until now. I never forgot about it. Over the years I have played this very scene in the back of my mind hundreds of times. It just popped into my head today. Life is strange. I'm 60 years old...., it still thrills me.
