You guys need to permanently hire Nicole as the Bass Gang editor. With Marwan's arranging, Nicole's editing, and all of your voices, the bass gang will have unlimited power.
Peter Barber I am late to the party but came to say….
by far the best part of this reaction and analysis is seeing your pride in your work and your colleagues. And of course it is well deserved. Great job!
Agree about the mixing. Incredible blend. Yes, you do duet well with Malinda… more in the future?
Malinda’s phrasing in the intro is just so money. I love the deliberate detail, but it still is so relaxed and beautiful.
I love how your version seems softer. It's beautiful.
Just watched the official video....Haven't actually watched this one yet, but I have to say that yours and Malinda's voices blend beautifully....I have been following Malinda for years, since her Translator Fails days....Her face is soooo expressive when she sings....
This is a favourite song of mine and I think you all did it justice....Beautiful cover...
Your Mom must be tickled at how far you have come in your music. I just enjoy how much fun you are having. It brings me joy! Keep up the wonderful work! Love you fellas💜
This is y I got a Bass Gang tattoo. Thank u for putting this cover out guys.🙏❤
this is one of my fave songs ever and great job you guys
I was so thrilled to see Malinda on this one, she is so talented. And holy high range, I was thoughoughly impressed by the higher ranges. We have all heard u guys sing higher and know u can but it still sometimes shocks me with the range and beauty. So amazing guys, super great. I had goosebumps the intire video.
I always have to watch these like 3 times just to hear all the extra magic I miss on my initial viewing.
I think the word you were looking for when describing Malinda’s opening was…. Ethereal. An angel singing in the clouds. You were all superbly phenomenal. We’ve seen Tomi’s Mad World, Marwan’s Centuries and now Bobby’s Iris. If I’m not mistaken, that means it’s your turn next week correct? Can’t wait!
Although I've seen the Bass Gang's videos on their own channel (and keep going back for another listen!), I'm still catching up on your reactions to and analysis of them, which I'm really enjoying. The pride and enjoyment you get from the Bass Gang videos is wonderful to see. I love Bobby's comment in his section after the video finishes where he says that Malinda brought out the tenor in you all - she really did and it was magnificent! You and Malinda sound fabulous together - a full duet between you two would, I'm sure, be awesome - and hearing Bobby let rip in his higher range was quite glorious to hear.
Looking forward to more content from you and the Bass Gang 👍☺
your voice with Malinda's is pure magic! This collab was stellar, the Bass Gang is soooo good!
This song is beautiful and you guys did it justice. Well done!
So, I gotta be honest, as someone who was a teenager when this song came out, I've been going back and forth about hearing the bass gang's version because the original has so much effing meaning to me....I should have listened to this sooner. Great job of making it your own but staying true to the emotional builds in the original! I gotta say that I love hearing you up in tenor land! Such a beautiful gift you have, thank you for sharing it with us!
This was lovely. Not "BASS IN YO FACE" but that is 100% ok! There is enough talent here that it's just fine to be beautiful and light, and when the emotions get a bight darker the vocals do, too...which is great. Bravos to all. Well videographed, too. Excellent job, but I expected no less from The Bass Gang, and was never disappointed.
So excited for your Analysis!!😊😊😊
I love this song so much and love this version a crazy lot
Such an amazing rendition of this. Not gonna lie, this shocked me. Went a totally different route than I expected. With Melinda, and figuring Bobby did this one, I fully expected Irish or Shanty….wrong. Just vocal gold in a different genre.
Instead of Irish, we got Iris.
Malinda*
I love watching your reactions and seeing how pumped you get for you and your friend's work. Great job! 😁
I also love that D6 from Malinda. What a sweet voice! You guys all sounded so good! And as always, I love your analyses. Hope you adjust to the altitude and lack of humidity. Santa Fe is a cool city.
I never heard that d6
It's when marwan hits a fucking A4 in chest Malinda hits a C#6-D6 flageolet i think
Beautiful! This will definitely be going on my play list! Thank you so much!!!
I loved this new style, it worked out really well! Really enjoyed your higher registers getting to shine, too! ❤️ And I also love the funny, weird energy that TBG reaction videos bring out in you 😂 super great to watch, love the jazz face 🤣
The duet between you and malinda literally had tears in my eye it was so incredibly beautiful and you two match and blend so beautifully
So good!! Thank you Peter 😊
I wish y'all could tour together. I saw the awesome Malinda 6 months ago, i hope I can get to see all of you.
Plus, I always wondered if that d6 was her, or Tomi, or you. I've seen her nail that live, but I know you boys are capable too. Seriously too much talent concentrated in 5 individuals.
Power! Wow... so many approaches to brightening your notes seen when we can see all your juxtaposed head shots. Thank you Pete, so good. More coming, yes?
You have all outdone yourself again.🍀
Love it.
Great job. That was great. I hope that you get to do Geoff’s new one soon.
Hope you do more with Malinda
Love!
This was great!! Thank you💜
Now it's time to request Way Down by Geoff
Very nice
That beginning was just haunting, and the rest was absolutely amazing as well. This EP is sure showing all your ranges! Yes, you and Malinda sound wonderful together, please do a duet sometime. I can't wait to hear what The Bass Gang has in store for the future!
I heard this one on its release, and it was awesome. I clicked on the like with in 30 sec, because....it is you ,,,,,and I KNOW I am going to like this reaction.
I agree with you on Tomi's hair. And while my preference is the less traditional I think this was a stunning piece. Can't wait for next Monday. You are showing your absolute joy with this analysis. And I also agree with the video editing choices, very much fit the mood.
❤
Великолепно!
Would love to hear you react to Pentatonix Seasons of love.
I listened to this earlier, and I love it. The Bass Gang should induct Geoff Castellucci and Tim Foust, should VoicePlay and Home Free break up.
Bobby is always a bit of a weird voice to me, cause I can't really categorize it. I wouldn't say it's pop ish, but I wouldn't say it's classic either. It's sounds like a mixed voice taken down to a 2. to 3. octave with a high soft palet... sounds really smooth, but even in trying to reproduce the tone as close as I ca, like, in the 2. and lower 3. oktave I can maintain it pretty clearly, but in the higher 3. octave my tone get's way to powerfull compared to bobbys, which I tried a couple of time to come near it but I totally can't. So ye, every time I hear him I'm kinda impressed on how smooth the tone is and on how hard it is for me to come somewhere near that sound and maintain it ^^
😘😍😍Peter
Bobby has very light high voice
Jazz face 🙏
"sexy bastard"
i love that peter called you that LMFAO
Malinda has a very beautiful, clear, pure voice.....almost Alison Krauss-like. She added a very different aspect to the bass gang, but it was definitely wonderful.
Can you do a video on Pentatonix’s Mary did you know
City of angles sound track
Goo Goo dolls?
You kinda look like Eyal Booker 😏😂♥️
request.... can i get some contralto content? im contralto and i need more songs to practice.
you have to check out Geoffs newest song
Please react to Hiba Tawaji auditioning on the voice France 2015
Please react to Nicole Kirkland the coreography, under the influence by Chris Brown!!!
Dumb question time.... most of the time you number the octaves so I'm used to that, I feel I have context for that. Here you keep talking about "high As" which octave is that? And is that one of those things that changes definition depending on the context? Like whether a note is either a sharp or a flat depending on the phase of the moon??
From the outside music theory (and the way it labels stuff) seems so very, very arbitrary and hard to follow.
Good question -- high A for male voices is an A4, and an A5 for female voices. And those actually don't change based on context -- the only thing that's fluid is where you start calling a note a "high" note, or a "low" note on the low end. For example, for tenors, you would call a C3 their "low C" but for basses we call a C2 a low C. Vice versa, sometimes you would say a high C for a bass voice is a C4, whereas for tenor it's a C5
@@PeterBarber So for tenors a low C is C3 and bass it's C2..... do you just avoid the term altogether for baritones? It's things like this that make it seem a touch arbitrary.
I was wondering what was going kn with Tomi's hair. Thank you for clarify lol
And fix your collar, Peter! Your voice is beautiful- and what a range!!- but your enunciation was a little stilted.
@@snapdoc well that was the point
Thanks! From one low voice to another, get your new Mac.
Peter... there is a weird buzzy echo to your mic when you speak or make any sound in your studio. It's not there when the video plays.
Great video, please get back to some other reactions!??
As soon as The Bass Gang is done releasing next week, Dimash and VoicePlay are 1st on the list!
I can get a G4 chest on a good day
Who makes the beatbox?
Marwan
@@evanbowen4221 thanks
For some reason there’s an annoying feedback hum whenever you speak. That said, I really enjoyed both the song and the analysis!
Yes unfortunately the AC unit kicked on at some point without me noticing, and it created a pitched hum that you can hear when I'm speaking. Glad you enjoyed!
You cufflinks were done up, out of focus, but done up. Your shirt studs, not so much. But we all know how hard it is to keep studs around.
We were supposed to look "disheveled" so it was all intentional
@@PeterBarber oh yes, and it's great, suits the whole thing very well. I think you should take any excuse you can to wear a tux in any state of shevelment :D
