Loved their beautiful rendition on this classic song ! Solid harmonies throughout ! I have to admit it was really good and I thank you as always for your wonderful breakdown and analysis as always ! I'm still partial to John Rzeznik's unique voice singing this song in the rain in concert ! That was mindblowing ! But it's a great cover and well done ! Thanks Jenn ! 👍😃🇨🇦❤️

The other high voice is probably Tomi.
Malinda has also been singing with another bass lately, Avi Kaplan. She applied via an audition he put out on Instagram and sang with him on tour in New York City this spring and a short of another song.
Meanwhile Tomi and Efe Sayin did finally put out their Avi Kaplan medley that was delayed by the pandemic if you haven't heard that yet. That is where I heard high Tomi if you try that. (note if you do let it go past the end of the song for a cameo by someone else 🙂)
Fun fact about this one if you didn't notice, each singer is actually on one part (but there is some multitracking), as per Peter's own reaction!

I really love Tomi’s tone in this. I think that low note was also Bobby, but could be wrong. Luscious E6 from Malinda. This is a really gorgeous arrangement. Bobby nailed it. I do like that they’re going with different styles. And yeah, next one is Peter-featuring COLM. If you haven’t heard him before you’ve got surprises coming.

Do you think the differences in mouth shape could partly be training too? Obv Peter is pro opera singer, so presumably that is part of it.
I loved them bringing in Malinda, who I’ve admired for a while now anyway. Brought in a whole new dimension and texture to the line up in a refreshing way. I believe Avi has recently chosen Malinda to collab with too, so looking forward to that.
Definitely breathy!!! Once again LOVE the geek out on vocals. I actually learn a-lot when you do this. I was actually pretty worried about this because I'm such a huge fan of the original. Not bad...not bad at all.

Please react to Malinda's cover of 'Drunken Sailor'. Now Drunken Sailor is one of the most famous sea shanties ever and there are thousands of covers of it but Malinda's is by far my favorite, and there are a LOT of good ones. My second favorite (and I wouldn't be mad if you reacted to this one too) is by The Clancy Brothers with Tommy Makem.
Thank you for the analysis! At 8:51 and 8:57 it sounds like a solo part should be there but is cut out or just missing. Something missing there, sounds a bit wrong.
I have a reccomendation! (if you've reacted to this video by TBG already, please lmk!) They did a cover of Emperor's New Clothes, and the arrangement, editing, everything about their cover is amazing in my opinion!

This cover was a quite interesting arrangement of this classic indie song. I wasn't quite sure about whether or not I liked it on first listen, but after a few more listens to it I find I like it quite a bit. Although I still prefer Rzeznik's original version this version is quite good. And your breakdown analysis of their cover was fab, as always! Well done all around. Bravo!

This is probably the dumbest question you'll get this week, but I'm usually the dumbest guy in the room, so it works out. On Melissa's whistle notes, were they whistles? I don't know what exactly qualifies whistle notes, but it seems like most are on a full exhale. She seems to be sort of sheltering them or something. Is that a tone thing, or more of a volume kind of a deal? Or was it more of a delicate heady sort of thing for what ever reason? It would be cool if you did a deep dive on technique sometime. But that might just be me. Might want to run that one by the horde before you waste your time. Thanks!
