- Bowser and King Boo, two of the most popular villains in Mario, might share more similarities then anyone could have guessed. This Creepypasta theory, written by MyWorld, explains that in full.

This theory has so many holes it’s like 100 Monty Moles went through it
A compelling theory on paper ruined by an ridiculous amount of plot holes. I could legit buy this though if not for previously mentioned plot holes
Does bowser do something for the boos? I mean, aside from having him as his troops, as evidenced by "bowser’s minions". If King Boo's motives are to make it so that no one can disrupt boos living in the ghost houses, why won't he barricade them, or create some sort of barrier around them, or literally anything. In other words, if King Boo is the king of his people, then why when he possesses the remains of bowser he does not help his people. they're pretty much in the same state as they were in Super mario world, when bowser was bowser
Well, maybe it's like spartans. soldiers s protect civilians, and civilians learn to fight just in case.
while I feel that "Bowser Becomes King Boo" makes more sense than "King Boo becomes Bowser", I have to ask: what personality change? in later games and especially the RPGs, Bowser's a complete goofball. interesting idea nonetheless.
Theory
King Boo and Bowser are secret lovers
I just assumed that Dry Bowser was the heartless and King Boo is the nobody.
my headcanon is that the king boo in the spinoffs is just a big boo with a crown, wheras the real king boo from luigi's mansion is either trapped in a painting or scheming, wheras bowser is sorta just chill, king boo has a much larger grudge against luigi than bowser does against mario
Peter, the horse is here.
I think this and the Super Mario Sunshine bad ending being connected to Splatoon are some of the most wild theorys SMB fans came up with
It's a fun theory with some good evidence, but the Mario and Luigi Paper Jam confirms that Paper Mario takes place in a different world, apart from normal Mario games and spin offs
You can at least take some parts of the story and potentially fit them into the lore as paper mario is literally just another version of Mario, meaning they should have SOME parallels.
Paper jam also confimes that anything thay happens in the paper world happens in the real world and vice versa.
I’m calling bullsh*t, Paper Mario is just an aesthetic choice, and I *strongly* stand by that idea. Not to mention, the star spirits are in Mario Party 5.
You realize you could watch like 5 minutes of a Paper Jam let's play and see the intro for itself... right?
I think I should also add on the fact that both normal Bowser and Paper Bowser show up as the final boss for Paper Jam
Classic creepypasta which is actually just weird fanfiction.
Aren't most gaming creepypastas though?
@@kitsunefox2023 I guess so, but gaming creepypasta theories are more like someone's headcanon that they labeled rather then a gaming creepypasta which is unfiction about a haunted game that is inacting the author's fanfiction.
@@diegodankquixote-wry3242 Ah, true.
@@diegodankquixote-wry3242dude not everything’s fan fiction 😂
What a coincidence lol. I was about to suggest this to you lol.
The gem in King Boo's crown is the reason why he looks different
This theory has a similar problem to most theories involving dreams where the core concept (ghosts, in this case) are vague enough that you can stretch it to justify anything in the theory under the excuse of "ghost powers".
"In his house at King Boo, dead Bowser waits dreaming."

I remember seeing the original video for this theory waaaay back in the day don’t remember what channel it’s from or why so many theory’s got stolen and we’re rewritten and then uploaded to the creepypasta website .
Found the original video discussing this theory from 9 years ago, oof I’m old. It was made by TripleWario (previously known as WWWWario) he “found it on Google while browsing Luigi’s Mansion theories”, didn’t say where exactly he found it or who made it tho.
Oh wow, I had no idea this went so deep. Creepypastas being 'vandalized' really brings me back. I remember when '1999' got a lot of extra stuff added to it by random people that made the original author furious
This channel is so underrated, the time you put into these defininetly shows, keep it up big man!
King boo in sunshine is made from the goop.
This theory might be dead because of SMB Wonder, King Boo appears in the end before fighting Bowser
Probably Big Boo parading around dressed up like King Boo. Plus, he's missing his gem and is likely still in containment.
@@anonymous_-xi9bl you might be true
The trouble Mario caused King Boo were SMW and SM64 specifically, specially Super Mario 64, the first mission on Big Boo's Haunt is Mario having to defeat ghosts to get to Big Boo, and also the fact that the whole ghost house was a trap for him but managed to get out of it
There is one thing you’ll are missing, at the end of Mario Galaxy 1, The universe gets reset so Bowser would be alive without the assistance of King Boo
Somewhat interesting theory with bad execution. Lots of assumptions are made and you really have to stretch for some of these points.
Paper Mario is cannon to the mainline universe? I thought it was an alternate universe, because of Mario and Luigi.
Also it doesn’t really help the fact that in wonder, bowser and king boo are different entities.
Paper Mario is it's own story. Not connected to the main games
I would argue that most of the different lines of Mario titles are separate continuities, and that most Mario games within each series are only loosely connected to each other. Paper Mario is its own continuity, as is Super Mario Galaxy, as is New Super Mario Bros., as is Super Mario 3D World, as is Yoshi’s Story/Wooly World/Crafted World, etc, etc. The only games from separate series that seem to be connected are Luigi’s Mansion and Super Mario Sunshine, though there’s nothing specifically in Sunshine that precludes the possibility of it being a direct sequel to Super Mario 64
Notice how King Boo doesn't look the same as he does in Wonder? That's because that's likely Big Boo filling in for the role while the real King Boo is imprisoned by Egadd.
Paper jam proves it is a different universe inside the mario and luigi universe
Paper jam says it different but also shows that both worlds are same in the adventures any adventure one mario goes on the ither has also went on.
Didn't everyone die at the end of galaxy 1, and also how do they explain mario and luigi bowser inside story?
No, not Bowser. The fact that he was the only one who felt pain upon entering this new universe likely meant that he was momentarily knocked out by that Supernova, not killed by it. He also withstood falling into multiple black holes and being scorched by his artificial sun multiple times, so he likely wasn't killed by this! But I'm willing to accept that it stripped the flesh from him.
Universe got rebooted though
@JDJG3493 I mean, you don't see Mario being rebooted he's completely fine. Also, Bowser seems to be the only one in any real pain! His son was just as close to the supernova as he was, and you don't see him wincing in pain from the blast or any other characters caught in the implosion. Rosalina likely used her powers to either relocate an unconscious Bowser to the mushroom kingdom or she relocated the mushroom kingdom entirely.
SO… I don’t want to lay a bunch of hate on this theory, but there are some critical issues. First is the event that begins the theory, which is the toads being 1000% confident in Bowser’s defeat. I’m afraid to say that its mistaken a meta joke/classic Paper Mario humor for lore that should be taken seriously. The toad’s are not confident - their insistence that Bowser was defeated is no deeper than citing “trust me bro” as your source.
The second major issue is that the theory conflates the various different lines of Mario games, which I think most of us can agree do not share a continuity, most notably Paper Mario and Super Mario Galaxy. You can’t use any disparate series of Mario titles as proof for a theory for any other series of Mario titles. Especially, Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, or any other of the ensemble/sports/racing games are I think explicitly non-canon (not that there is much of a Mario canon anyway), so can’t be used as evidence to anything pertaining to say, Luigi’s Mansion.
The only games that can be applied to King Boo are the three Luigi’s Mansion games and probably Super Mario Sunshine, to which I have to say that it is implied that the King Boo we see in the basement of the casino is not the true King Boo. The boos in Sunshine react completely differently to all other boos in any other Mario games, despite Sunshine’s implied connection to Luigi’s Mansion through E. Gadd, and the way they behave seems to connect them to Bowser JR’s graffiti. To me this implies that the Boos in Sirena Beach aren’t real, but further creations of Bowser Jr, designed to look like Boos. This wouldn’t be the first time in this particular continuity that a paintbrush brought ghosts to life (or maybe it is, depending on which of Sunshine and Luigi’s Mansion you think happens first)
Sports and racing games are canon. They are referenced and treated like something that has actual happened mutiple times. Saying they are none canon makes no sense.
I had this thought when I was a kid. It's not likely, but it's weird that the strings are there. Also, there is a painting in the ds mario kart where bowser is confronted by king boo.
I actually used to believe this theory, but then I grew up and eventually realized that uh… Paper Mario and normal Mario are two different continuities. Paper Mario and Mario are two different characters. Paper Bowser and Bowser are two different characters. Paper Luigi and Luigi are two different characters.
i'd like to believe that someone cursed herringway's book so that when it's opened, the characters come to life
@@platinum-or3y Cough...Paper Jam..
@@Emperor-Z ya thats what im talking about
They're still both versions of Mario. They'd still have to at least parallel each other in some instances.
@@anonymous_-xi9bl I know, Mario’s still a hero, Luigi is still mostly a coward, peach is still mostly a damsel in destress, Bowser is still a villain, but it doesn’t mean that the events of one also happen in the other.
I always thought of these things like Separate Universes, like The First few + Most 3D Mario Games are one Universe, The NSMB series are one Universe, Paper Mario is one Universe, M&L are one Universe. I think it would explain a lot of things, like how characters and locations are portrayed completely different throughout the games
They reference each other though, there is evidence that they are not separate.
yeah I suppose that's true, but honestly? I'd rather believe that then try to figure out every little detail that connects them all, sometimes I think trying to piece together everything would be worse than trying to solve the fnaf timeline lol
Paper jam says paper mario universe inside mario and luigi universe
I have a theory that Luigi is Marios brother
Ever wondered why Mario looks more cartoonish than the New Donkers? Watch the video "Why does Mario look more cartoonish than most of the rest of the humans in Super Mario Odyssey?"
i feel like the theory holds up until like the revival in Luigis Mansion, like, thats a good theory, he died in paper mario and was revived in luigis mansion to go back to doing his usual bowser shit, but all the crazy shit after is when it looses me.
Game DVR
The only evidence I see that can be plausible is the king boo portrait.
Luigi only gets king boo, the bowser robot dies, and the dimension collapses.
So why is a bowser head floating with king boo when he's getting turned into a portrait
And why do all of king boo's frames feature bowser?
Great theory but I think King Boo uses his dark magic to revive Bowser. King Boo is his own being and his form is probably different in Luigi’s Mansion because he is mad with power. In Super Princess Peach, boos had a different form called Mad Boos. Their eyes are yellow with dark shadows under the eyes. Similar to Luigi’s Mansion King Boo’s form only the color of his eyes match the power enhancing crown he wears. In the spin offs, he has no power enhancing jewel in his crown so he is weak and less evil in that form. A fake king boo would make sense in some cases though like in Mario Wonder, in the Boo’s Opera level, King Boo appeared only to be changed into a regular boo at the end of the Wonder effect. Perhaps, when the real King Boo was captured, a regular boo takes place.
I wonder if the author knew that Paper Mario takes place in an alternate universe from the main line Mario gam
Lore of 'The Bowser & King Boo Theory' Creepypasta momentum 100
Someone needs too make a game explaining how the Mario continuity makes sense
Paper jam proves that paper mario universe is not the same universe as the mario and luigi universe therefore it's unlikely to do much for this creepy pasta theory
While wrong for other reason. Paper jam also confirmes that both worlds are iditcal and both Mario's most likely went on the same adventures.
This is the good shit. Keep it up.
Also kingboo was in Mario wonder
It’s a very valid theory, I love it.
I kinda like the concept of Bowser dying and King Boo takes the reigns, it's obviously incorrect but neat fanfic idea or somethin
The theory may have flaws but is the official canon flawless? The existence of "Dry Bowser" shows that Nintendo was willing to create an undead version of Bowser. It seems to me it does not entirely make sense either way, whether King Boo is Bowser or not. Luigi's Mansion seems to have like at least two competing stories within it, the finalized game being a little messy. I think that King Boo is not officially Bowser but i think it is very plausible that King Boo may have been planned to be Bowser during development.
Ok so, what if bowser rather made a deal with king boo long ago, a deal for immortality, in exchange bowser must destroy Mario and eliminate any threats to him, I can’t believe the idea that king boo is controlling bowser at all times.
also take a look at the painting of bowser and king boo, the way KB is in the light feels fitting if it was like a deal or something.
Or during post Luigi's Mansion, King Boo and Bowser's body and soul escaped from said painting (King Boo never specified the date or time of his escape, for all we know he could have escaped as soon as he was auctioned off), Bowser took the liberty to reposses his body, but becuase he's possessing it he won't be like he usually is, hense why he's able to take soo much more punishment now!
Personally I never believed this theory because of Bowser and Kammy being ok at the credits of Paper Mario
And unfortunately more mario games (odyssey included) don't help the theory. Is it a fun theory, yes, but thats all it can be
i think king boo and bowser are gay lovers and bowser only wants to capture peach to make her mine minerals
This theory is as stupid as the titanic switching with olympic theory. Bowser is just very tanky and can survive pretty much anything
I believe this, but it's not 100% true.
I know that ths is my problem; but I can not for the life of me concentrate on what you're saying when the video material is something else entirely. Talking about the early SNES levels or Paper Mario while Luigi smacks the un-life out of ghosts in a totally different game is so distracting and exhausting,.. I just can't. :( Sorry.
