- Check Out More Theories: • MY BEST THEORIES Coraline has been the most enjoyable film to make theories on. It’s my signature series of analysis on mysteries. And so, in this video, I ditch the past six theories, and propose a new idea… Which I don’t necessarily think is CORRECT, but I DO think it is a GREAT topic for discussion!

I'm currently making a story about a team, and after seeing a couple of these things like the Incredibles theories, I'm making sure that there is always more than what there seems to be so that every theory ever created on it will always be answered as it was already made before the making.
Lol
Another thought. What if the blue boy is her son, but he didn't die in the real world. Maybe he fell down the well, and she followed trying to find him, as it seems unlikely an adult woman would fall down a well for no reason. They both stayed in the world until the Beldam realized she could use her magic to live off souls, she began to trap children. Her son tried to stop her, so she imprisoned him there, and when she was unable to gather any children (when she was starving), she resorted to consuming her son. However, she was unable to trap his soul and he returned to the real world as a cat, the thing his mother hates, as a spite for eating him. That's why he says "She's not like any mother I've seen." because he knows what she does to her children, also how he knows she eats them. He stays at the pink palace to guard the children after him, Wybie and eventually Coraline. That's why he helps Coraline, and also got in her way when she tried to leave for the well. He knows where the portals are, and knew that throwing the key down the well would simply return it to the Beldam. She can't unlock the door, but she can send it for another child to find, like the dolls.
Makes a lot more sense to me
ahkkkk that... uncomforting. very uncomforting.
Holy shit, I was actually thinking the Beldam killed her son when the Theorizer mention the Blue Boy being her son. And it makes sense too.
what if the blue boy was the little ghost boy?
I literal posted somthing about them falling down the weel there just has to be a bigger reason to the weel as we may think and also can i just say that whybe say that people can see stars in the sky at day?

how the beldam takes the souls:
takes one eye for her own soul and one helps to build the world as is why coraline only has to find one eye for each child.
Wait wait WAIT. Then why does the other mother hate cats!
sophia Lindenmayer because it reminds her of him
Maybe if The Cat is her son.. she is faking it?
cuz cats are assholes.
to try and sell that the cat is on coralines side
I believe that the cat is blue boy but i didn't except yet that this boy is beldam's son...i think she never had a child but she really wanted to have a child, to become a mother and the blue boy was her first victim.
Beldam was born in 19 century and the blue boy wore a old fashioned clothes more old than other children ghost's clothes.
so mabye this is the reason why he was dear to beldam he was the first child that lived in her house and the first child she wanted to made love her.
But i don't know if the boy tried to escape but it wasn't so successfully so this is why his soul is inside a cat body....or mabye he was so dear to beldam that she couldn't treat him like other children so she let him to have a body that can travel to other world too and mabye she even believed that the boy will help her at taking more children but by the time the boy became wiser and he betrayed beldam and stayed with grandmother and wybie then tried to help coralin so now beldam saw him as her enemy...
my another theory is the boy is escaped but beldam doesn't know anything about it...she knew the boy is escape but she didn't knew that he's went into a cat body and she hates cat mabye because they are just animals from another world.
I can't believe this movie is for kids 😂
Areeb Khan yea this shit scared the shit out of me as a kid
Kawhi Leonard creepy af
Areeb Khan I know right it should be like 9+
it's supposed to be a horror movie for kids
ikr
this movie should have prequel. so we know what's really happened. and then sequel, it would be great cuz I love this movie.
edit:can't believe I got 1.1k. BTW I think prequel that needed most, so we know how was other mother being so evil and how she got button eyes.
Wrestling Biohazard I kinda wanna see what happened to wybies grandmothers sister, like her story
An R rated stop motion animated film is incredibly risky and expensive.
Jkop it doesn't have to be R, there's other ways you can change it around
Wrestling Biohazard
That would be a good idea but, the movie was based off a book.
So just making a sequel or a prequel kinda seems weird.
But if you want to know more you could read the book or maybe read the graphic novel!
All Hail The Sock Puppet I didn't know it based on book...
In another theory, I've heard that all three victims already had lived in that house, the Beldam tied to the house. The "boring blue boy" is that painting of the first person who owned the house, the first victim, the boy that speaks in old English. He says he remembers wearing skirts, calls the other mother a "Beldam" and used other old English words, all dating back to the 18th century. The girl in pigtails is Wybie's grandma's sister, obviously from looking exactly the same as the doll in the beginning and the picture. And the other girl with the longer face, she's the one taken in-between the both. In the house there are pictures of three silhouettes in the house, a boy and two girls, like the past victims. The reason the other mother has kept all the pictures and stuff the same in the house, like the boy who dropped his icecream picture in the other world, is to appeal more too Coraline. She would keep everything the same, but liven up everything to entice her, making the boy happy to eat his icecream, making everything more colorful and happier to make sure Coraline likes it to persuade her to stay.
I had the same theory
Do i hate you or accept the fact that your right?
@@jamescarroll1680 is it because I never re read what I said and it sounds horrible
He's like a mad scientist but for theories.
PLOT TWIST:
The parents just bought the picture of the blue boy in a store....
Angry Red I don't think so because if it was bought in the store wouldn't Coraline know about that
if it was bought in a store then why they didn't have any furniture in the house and the picture was up I think they would put the bed in the couch stuff like that in before they would put a picture in
Angry Red GUYS HE SAID PLOT TWIST MEANING WHAT WILL BE THE THEORY IS THIS HAPPENED😃

Dolphinfox17 I'm a child and I don't find it creepy
Dolphinfox17 um Wtf how old r u I'm a child well a 4th grader AND IT IS AN AMAZING SHOW TO WATCH
I too have a theory:
In the ending when coraline tossed the bag full of a rock, key, and belldam's hand in the well. Does the bag fall in to the other world. Cause the well could be a portal.
that's the first theory he made, and he said this in the video
You copyed mine.
It couldn't be cause if watch where she was trying to escape the cat said she walked around the whole world and there isn't no well
BanyMany yes and it had the key so the beldam might have the key right now so coraline is still in danger so the “game” isn’t over
BanyMany the cat said the well doesn’t exist in the other world tho
To be honest, I think Coraline has schizophrenia.
If you think about it, at the end of the movie when the real parents come in and she mentions the snow on them it immediately disappears. Also there’s no way they don’t remember getting broken out of the snow globe, they would have some cuts or at least have hypothermia but they don’t. And the fact that when Coraline first opens the little door it’s all bricks plays into my theory perfectly, if Coraline was hallucinating the entire thing it would make sense that all along she had schizophrenia.
This isn’t really a complete theory I just thought it was interesting
The parents knew they were trapped, the mom didn't give Coraline the gloves for nothing. Them going out to dinner earlier that night to "celebrate" was for the catalogue, along with Coraline saving her parents.
SparkleIce WolfTV her mom probably gave her the gloves cause she felt
@@kourtlynwilliams5700 a mom wouldn't just do it for no reason, and it was kinda obvious that the parents knew.
It’s all magic🤯
this is a good theory but schizophrenia doesn't work like that most of the time
I have a black cat, and his name is Cy.
Also, if the black cat is her “son”, then that might explain why she hates cats, she might’ve hated her child.
But hey, that’s just a theory...
A film theory...
*I'm ShOok. Whooooaaaaa*
He’s just the O’Hare delivery guyyy..
or mabey because every time she sees the cat she knows yhag she child is dead
*ShOoK WoLf PuP* O.o
Ayyyyyyy
I don't believe the boring blue boy was her son, at all. I believe that was her first victim. Think about it. At the time that miss spink and forcible first met Coraline they gave her taffy. But when they opened the chest there was three left with dates that were most likely the dates of the ghost children. But, what if that first taffy bowl given to Coraline was the date of the first victim. The boring blue boy. The parents became terrified of there son's sudden dissapereance that they ran away and left the portrait. This was the first time the beldam had a child so she immediately wanted more. That's why the dates for two of them were only 15 years apart. This might just be anti-climatic but I find this theory a good one.
Edit: If you agree like so we can get this to the top so the theorizer could see it and help him out with more theories!
Juliet DelToro Good one😀
So you're saying that the Blue Boy is the ghost boy? If you mean that the Blue Boy is the first victim, i.e. before the 3 ghost children, then that wouldn't make sense as there were only 3 taffies in the box in the first place (that corellate with the 3 ghost children, and not the extra Blue Boy victim.)
Bodzia Gabi no, I'm not saying the blue boy is the ghost boy. I'm saying that since there was taffy given to coraline before the other three taffy bowls with dates it could've been the blue boy. But, I do not think that the beldam took the blue boy's eyes so she cherishes the picture because it will remind her of him since most likely he is not with the other ghost children because his eyes were not taken.
Juliet DelToro I agree with the date things of the taffy things but not that it wasn't her son I think it was
I believe you could be correct but I only have ? how in he'll did all of those stuffed dogs get on that shelf? and y didn't anyone theorize on that? I believe this movie is much deeper than we think I'm proposing that a evil spirit was there before the house was built and the stuffed dogs represent its victims before it possessed the bedlam tell me what I guys think.

Small theory:
The other mother's child, the boring blue boy, died, and the other mother was really upset. She then freaked out about dying herself, and when she was given the chance to live forever with children, she took it.

@@CinnamonLovesYou704 that Comment was 5 Month too late😂
My ADHD won't let me acually watch the video lol
I have a theory. Coraline was dreaming that other world was real. On Coraline’s first visit it was night. In the beginning of Coraline it was in the other world. We even saw the bedlam’s true form. Was she dreaming on her first night there or did she start dreaming on first night in the other world. It is crazy but it could be possible. Was rome built in a day? No it was not built in a day. The other world is not built in a day. Well, at the end of Coraline the bedlam’s face was in the middle of the garden during the garden party. Well , no it can’t be. Did the bedlam crash the garden party? Well it is impossible because Coraline stop her. Everyone has weird dreams. Maybe Coraline was dreaming and got trapped in the other world. Do you remember where the start of Coraline was? The other world. Do you remember who was in it? The bedlam? Do you remember what she was doing? Making a doll that looks like Coraline. Do you remember what went into a portal at the end of Coraline? The black cat. Or maybe the bedlam was planning to trap Coraline while she was dreaming? So what if the bedlam’s true form looks creepy.
Goong
I think that the cat is protecting wybe and he tells wybe to give the doll to coraline because he knows that she is smarter than wybe and has a better chance to survive. He also cares for wybe and not coraline at least at the beginning. The cat helps coraline and could help wybe too but he knows that wybe is too foolish and naive to resist the other mother. He and the beldalm are not freinds but due to her fondness for games she keeps him around as a sort of nemesis. That’s my take at least
That seems simple enough and makes sense. I don't think we should read too much into what is already a terrifying story...
Wybie was the one who gave coralin the doll and in another video it said that the grandmother made a deal with beldam for wybie's life and then she allowed a family with a child use her place so she knew what's gonna happen to coralin and grandmother even told wybie that he shouldn't talk with coralin.
Wybie said that he stole the doll because it was like coralin and then her grandmother scolded him but mabye all of this were a plan by his grandmother...she put the doll somewhere that wybie can see it then she played innocent by telling wybie that i'm angry of you.
True but he helps her and most obvious he is EVIL
GABBY PAZ it wasn’t. at the beginning of the movie you see the beldam change the doll from the twin sister to coraline. im sure she put it in the trunk using the mice or something.
Mersedeh M.H doesn’t even make sense since he doesn’t even exist in the book
I actually have proof of your theory that the well is the portal to the other world:
In the beginning, when the 'other mother' makes the Coraline doll and sends it flying out of her window, you can see the sky is black with white stars (basically what we see at night).
Now, here's the part that really gives proof.
When we cut to the scene where Coraline meets Wybie and discusses about the well, Wybie says "Supposed to be so deep that if you fell to the bottom and you looked up, you'd see a sky full of stars in the middle of the day."
CallingInDoodle I
CallingInDoodle omfg ive always thought that!!!
CallingInDoodle AH SO TRUE
Maybe the blue boy fell down the well hit and "saw stars", before dying, and then was transported to another world because of the magic in the well. After all, the picture with the fallen ice cream indicates that "gravity ruined his day", and the picture in the other world reverses this.
CallingInDoodle WOW

also, 10:08
The boy in the picture to me seems more of a representation of the child’s happiness when coraline moved there she was sad but when she went to the other world she was happy and so was the painting in the other world
I have a question, how did Coraline's mom knew what key it was to the tiny door?
Because it was the only key to fit in the door
Plot twist: she wanted the daughter to go missing to claim insurance
three years late but i think it said in the book she just picked the weirdest looking key in the drawer
when you say that black cats help witches i thought that the cat was helping coraline because she claims to be a water witch
Maree Tagget oh yeah! I remember Wybie saying that
a Michigan Water Witch :))
PLEASE READ THIS!
Coraline IS my favorite movie, so I've watched it like a million times. One thing you have not mentioned is in the beginning of the movie!!! in the begging the movers are moving a chair into the house. IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY ITS THE BELLDAME'S CHAIR!!! I DONT KNOW WHAT IT COULD MEAN... But it would be great if you could answer this!!!!!
Auhdra Myers noticed that also while watching it today
I also noticed when bedlam is trying to sew buttons on coralinos eyes, dad says "it's a sting that will hurt nothing" and beldam looks like SILENCE!. It looks like dad has experienced it and mom looks like she wants to silence dad from start saying the thruth. This fortifies the theory that other wybie and dad are made with souls of the ghost kids
Auhdra Myers I first watched coraline at age 6 and I like the movie but I was so terrified by the movie as a young child that every time I watch it I freak out. When the other mother turns into the spider creature thing, part of me turns into a six year old. And I freak. I have not watched the movie in 2 years now but I've watched it around 4 times since I was six
Ive been watching coraline since I was 4 now im 10 i cant believe ive been watching this for so many years without noticing these things ._.

We need a second one about Coralines daughter 🤔
That's exactly what I thought about 8 years ago
Izzy Dpo I meAn I don’t think the problem is over so probably it might happen again to coraline because remember she threw the key in the well and wybie said if u fall in there it looks like u can see the stars in the middle of the day buT it can be the portal to the other world so it can happen again to coraline
Da
Or son
What about when the cat and coraline were "walking aroud the world" he said to coraline "She wants something To love I think something that isn't her Or maybe she just loves something to eat." So he clearly knows alot more than he seems to. Also I agree with another comment that maybe the mother killed her son and she came back as a cat specify because the cat says "she just wants something to love , I think, something that ISNT HER" that maybe his way of saying she didnt want him as her child because he was HERS.
The cat cant be helping the Beldam because he says "perhaps she want someting to love or just somethimg to eat." she also calls him verman.
Mini the Hippo yes she does , but what if the whole point of it is to lure her- usually-I emphasise 'usually' - when someone is told otherwise to what they think it want they do it anyway, she is curious and the cat could be saying it's a trap and so on to manipulate her - and with doing that his mother tries to take her soul because maybe every soul she takes makes her ' dead son/now cat ' happier every time?? Plus when the cat is is the 'real 'world ' he doesn't talk- showing that the son didn't talk much in the real world- if the parents were divorced / getting ready to be divorced ( which is a thought from another comment 🌞) - he would naturally be to scared or shy to speak up - to simply tell them to sort out their differences- so maybe he would go through the small door - which could have been a storage unit and locked himself in when they would argue and fall asleep - in his dream it is like what Coraline experiences now - a happier life but then realises it is not right - with the overwhelming happenings he goes to the well and wishes for all to be better and kills himself by jumping into it - once the mother finds this out - she paints a picture of her son - sad boring blue boy - she then goes to the ' storage unit and creates a whole world that she creates once she dies - any child that isn't happy will be lead by the cat _ her sad boy who has blue eyes in ' both lives' to - the cat feeds off of the happiness of the children - until they get their eyes stolen - he then takes their souls - which are now sad and hides them - as he know modern society is smarter - they'd need games to out smart the next child 🙃🤔?? Just a thought.
Ala Mohamed that's a good theory x

Also, is there some connection with the color blue in the story? It does appear quite frequently: Coraline's blue hair, her blue nails, the clothes the Beldam made her, Mr. Bobinski? What would it represent?
Logical Nonsense OH SHIT YOU RIGHT
Logical Nonsense " look for everything blue and write that down* - Coralines dad
Logical Nonsense Blue can mean loneliness. In fact, it represents loneliness quite a lot. I'm gonna guess it's about the Beldam's lack of happiness.
Logical Nonsense I think blue represents sadness, or loneliness. To feel "blue", some would say. Maybe it has some connection to either Coraline or the Beldam?
blue can sometimes mean illusion or to confuse of some sort

I really badly wanna see a prequel or sequel to Coraline as there are so many unexplained parts that everyone wants to know the truth of! I feel like it would make a great part 2, as we can find out how the other mother turned out to be evil and how she got trapped/lost and how she got button eyes and how she ate children and gave everyone button eyes and how she created the other world!! And so we can see her twin sister (the grandmother ) and how they’re past was (and how the other mother got lost), etc... it would be so interesting !!! And it would explain all the theories of the movie too also it could be about coralalines daughter or something :))
I don't know if anyone else said this, but me and my sister were talking about these theories and we think that maybe the other mother tried to kill herself when her son passed because she couldn't handle him being gone. she fell into the well on purpose, but it backfired. so instead, she wanted to fill the void inside her by making kids stay with her in a world that would be perfect for them both. idk it might be a stretch but its a thought!!!
Cam Aerie I thought that too
In the book, it states that the pink palace is actually divided into four sections, so four apartments. And when Coraline is driving home with her mother, she asks the question, "So what do you think is in the other apartment?" to which her mother says she does not know, but not a family of Jones imposters. Then this goes further to when they first open the small door, and the mothers said it most likely was blocked off when they divided up the house, which leads as well to the idea of it going to another apartment. I have no theories as to how this fourth apartment would fit in. Another question I have is, why is the door so small? Because it is made for children?
elodie montoya oooh
(I haven't read the book in so long so sorry if I mess up a bit) So in the book the little door in the movie is actually a regular sized door. I'm not really sure why they had to change it to a small door in a movie but it was a regular sized door. In the book when Coraline had to find the ghost children souls she went into the fourth apartment. She goes into a basement where it's fucking creepy. I think there's like eyes on the wall I'm not sure. Her other father was in the basement where he was supposed to attack Coraline so she could lose. The other father was a big glob of wax. When he attacked Coraline she tried to escape so she took off his buttons which made him not able to find her. So because of Coraline's curiosity about the other door and other apartment helped the other mother on how to lure her.
Guys, my grandmas house has one of those doors, and basically, that is a laundry shoot, which is stated in the movie 😂😂 Those doors were used back in the 50s and you would throw your laundry down and your maid or your mom would clean it for you, maybe the belldam disguised the portal as a laundry shoot in the 50s to make it look normal?
Alexia Hope you ruined the fun😞
I don't know whats more epic. Ballora's music box at the beginning or my love for this video...

Coralline 2:
Coralline is an adult and ends up having a child. The child is about 9. Coralline moves into an apartment and ends up finding the same door from when she was a child. As she got older she started forgetting about the door and her old life. She started just thinking it was all a dream. Then her son/daughter ends up going threw the door and the same thing happens to him. Coralline has to gather her memories and tries to set her son and the belldam free so all of it will end. Then 3-5 years later they move again and the same thing happens. Coralline and her son/daughter for the final time.
This has nothing to do with the movie but yee- haw!
Its literally the same thing. And also the creater never created second movies or or prequels or sequels. And it was a movie from the book and the author never made a second book so it will never happen

So are you.
what if the blue boy(the cat) fell down the well?
my point exactly
The Theorizer I have like such a long theory but I don't feel like typing it😂😂😂
it's good too
:c
Thats what i was thinking since the the painting of the sad boy has a overall theme of gravity which symbolizes his fall down the well
whys coralline's hair blue when her parents' hair is not?
it can't be that she dye her hair as her mom didn't even let coraline buy the gloves
Kylie Maria Her hair is dyed. There's a family photo with her having brown hair.
Those aren't even the right gloves to dye your hair with
She fucked another man

Matthew Joffe lmao fuck you
in the scene where the other father plays piano for Coraline the song goes "when she goes around exploring mom and i will never ever make it boring our eyes will be on Coraline." Seeing as how he helps her in the end, could this possibly be meant as a warning ?
Ur so right
Because he takes a lot of fAIry dust he is independant like the mice are and how they told bobinsky about the door
Olivia McEntire DUH LOL NOT BEING SNOBBY

I am too im not scared i laugh at scary movies
@I’ll gut you like a fish it isn’t scary?
They might not make a second movie or continue at all because they sold the puppets and sets years ago...
Søundless seriously ? oh no
I saw someone else's theory and they said that maybe when she went to bed she was not teleporting back home and she was going deeper into the other world and maybe the beldam used that picture on the mirror of coralines parents saying help us underneath so it could lead her back to the "real world"
Cool u think that could be true
AdeleyDunda ksfffgbgggtyggghhhggghyyyyyyhhy

Yeah great thought
I am going to cry when you upload the last coraline theory

Ever notice how the cat and the boy in the painting has the same color of the eyes?
Rose Ramos I have! I think the cat is Beldam's (Other Mother's in this case) son!
WOW MIND BLOWN FACT. THX
And i oop-
And I thought I was observant
So do I
you know its weird that the other father looks like the actual father of Coraline and yet we see no soul sand in him... I'm curious anyone else?
Maybe we just did not see it used?

Hi! I really think your Theories make a lot of sense. I don’t understand one however. When you said that The other father and Wybe are faking it, it makes good sense to me. What stumps me is when you say that the other wybe sent Coraline back home but it wasn’t actually the real world, how does Wybe remember what he said in the fake world when Coraline actually returns home?

Wait wait wait. The blue boy has blue eyes. The cat has the same color eyes......could the blue boy be rencarnated in the cat....trying to save Coraline in the movie....what if he really was trying to help her but still is connected through blood and the eye was his freedom from his mom
Oooh, you might be right.
Dang, show did you come up with that
Omg. Yassss this needs to be in a theory video
SoftStorm CinderBlaze
There are two cats the one that talks is the one helping the beldam and the one that doesn’t is the good one the one that helps Coraline
i was thinking the exact same thing
My theory : The bedlam was originally a normal lady with a family in the 1800s. She had 1 son (the boy in the picture). Somehow the boy tragically died. After this, The bedlam went crazy and started learning witchcraft. Her husband left her when she started acting odd. Her husband sent her out of the house. She was then sobbing and crying as she walked out of the pink palace. As she walked and cried, She kept thinking about her dead son and also the fact her husband left her. As she sobbed and cried she then suddenly fell into the well. However, The other end to the well wasn’t water, It was a void. The bedlam was in this void for days simply doing nothing but starring into the white emptiness. She then began to starve. So she decided to try her witch craft. The witchcraft worked, And she could be anyone she wanted in this ‘other world’ and pretty controlled the world through witchcraft. The first thing she did was try to make food appear through witchcraft, However she couldn’t eat and this was due to the food being fake and since she was in a whole ‘other world’ her body just couldn’t adapt to it. She then slowly starved and starved, And began using her witchcraft to replace decaying parts of her body. As she decayed, She came up with a thought that maybe if she somehow lures people into the world she’s in, she can eat them but also use their soles to somehow bring her son back to life. At this point, The bedlam didn’t care about eating humans as she hadn’t eaten for years. The first boy moved into the pink palace, So The bedlam used witchcraft and made a doll. She threw it up and she saw it levitate towards the well in which she fell through. As the boy walked past the well he saw the doll, And took it with him. The bedlam could now spy on his life. She eventually lured him in, Gave him a dream world and then ate him. The bedlam felt guilty but good as this was her only source of food. However she couldn’t bring her son back through one dead soul, So she had to continue. Infact, The cat was a failed project of her son. With witchcraft she tried bringing her son back as a cat but this failed as 75% of the cat was her first victim and 15% was of her son. This is why we see the cats complicated personality in helping, warning, and saving coralline. The bedlam knows the cat can reveal the dark secrets of the other world, But doesn’t kill him because she knows the cats also 15% of her son which is why she refers to him as Vermin as she gets annoyed with him. But anyways, The cat somehow finds a way to the real world and doesn’t tell the bedlam. In the real world the cat is mostly the dead child, He mainly warned wybie. However in the other world the cat was mainly the bedlam’s son which is why he knows so much about her. (Also The cat was only helping coralline so she would fall into the bedlam’s trap) however once coraline threw him at his mother and he ripped her eyes out, He ran away knowing he messed his mothers plan up. Anyways back to the story, The bedlam eats once every year so when she finds a victim she will not let them go. She then lured in 2 more children, And then finally knew coraline was going to move in. So she does her famous technique makes her doll and sends it away to float through the well, Where vermin will find it, give it to wybie and the movie will show what happens next.
Thanks for reading my theory!
The Beldam herself says in the book "Mirrors are never to be trusted."
I doubt the cat was another child, it is heavily implied that he is a sort of guardian. In mythology (especially egyptian) cats can easily travel between planes of exsistance. in egyptian mythology cats are also the gaurdians are the underworld, they are quite powerful. if this is what the film makers are referencing it seems to me like the cat is a spiritual gaurdian to the children.
Abigael Anderson that could be it but it could also be that he was another child that because he survived and knew what goes on down there he was reincarnated into the cat because that is a symbol of a guardian so he now looks after the protagonist and other kids.
Abigael Anderson Also in Japan they believe that black cats are considered Good luck.Idk if that has to Do with anything but it shows that the cat isn't evil..Lol
What if the cat was just another creature that fell into the well, like the insects and rats? As the Beldam hates cats, I'd imagine she'd struggle to contain/use him (in some way) and he would have escaped, along with her secrets. I feel like the reincarnation theory is a bit random, considering there is no evidence of reincarnation elsewhere in the movie (but there is the idea of purgatory/heaven as shown by ghost kids in Van Gogh background scene and them being trapped in the mirror, which is the complete opposite of reincarnation). Also, the only way you'd know about the cat's ethnicity is if you look at the voice actor. All the other evidence in the Grand Theory is contained within scenes in the film, including deleted scenes, and the voice actor could just as easily have been another person.
Hey, I made a theory based on videos and your comment. Thanks for the information. It is in the comment section of part 8
Abigael Anderson. I THINK IT WAS BECAUSE BEFORE HE EVEN SAID ANYTHING I JUST THOUGHT THAT THE CAT WAS THE BLUE BORING BOY 👦 😃
Your voice is strangely soothing....
Then that means my plan is succeeding.
TrujilloTPG I love you!!!
Bella Stenstrom Who the fuck are you?
Seriously made me fall asleep
My teacher: *doesn’t allow the class to watch coraline*
Also my teacher: *allows us to watch the rings*
The book is even scarier.
I don't think the cat is the son....the cat doesn't seem to like the 'other mother'
Indeed.
That's why I pointed out that it's more likely something bad happened between them, or MOST likely, that the cat is NOT the blue boy, but that the blue boy is POSSIBLY her son, or someone related to her.
It's a good theory, I just don't see it :) Thanks for the reply.
summer m Or maybe, the cat IS her son but something happened and he turned into a cat and the belldame got mad or something so she's mean to him
Your theories inspire me to look closer into movies more than ever thnks for that man 😸 your the best

Laika should make Coraline 2 based on your theories. It would be so amazing.
Btw, did u notice the clock is striking 12 at both scenes?? 7:28 and 7:32 . Maybe the other world opens only at midnight and noon.
...I watched this movie and first I was kinda terrified but now I’m even more terrified

Rimonah Tesfay omf fucking destroyed
little hint:
at every scene where the Beldam appears, there’s *always* a white balloon lurking around. This is something i’ve spotted throughout my 7th times rewatching the movie...
Isn’t it weird at the end of the movie, a white balloon can be found/ Nonetheless, alongside with the garden (which everyone knew) hinting the beldam’s facial features similarities?
Yes, exactly. It’s again, a trap of the Beldam. Now, i don’t know if this has already been stated, but people tends to ignore it, so i just want to bring it back for a while..
Soo
If the door is in the well, she is able to get her hand and the key!?
God
Do you think the filmmakers produce these movies with the theories in mind or are theories just things that viewers use their imagination to produce?
Ella Blake
Depends
Ella Blake actually they would have the story written down, complete, but they would also have the "hidden" story written out. Give little Easter egg to point to viewer in the right direction. I would like to think that they 'want' us to find the hidden story ir meaning. So yeah im pretty sure they do plan it out XD
Shadow MANGA Manga yeah, but nobody would spend THAT much time creating all of these backstories. Maybe a few of the main ones, but im sure not all of the backstories that are explained here.
They definitely didn't have those theories in mind, if they did they would have gotten leaked months ago.
EminemSlimShade not exactly no. Sometimes creators like to give us something like this to figure out. They wouldn't just reveal it without us doing anything. I'd be no fun.
At the beginning of the movie, Coraline is stopped by Mr.Bobinsky. He says that the jumping mice told her to not go through the little door. How come the mice attempt to keep Coraline from the door? Are they similar to the Cat in the way that they are trying to protect her? But one of them also lead her into the door the first time... questions questions.
Genesis Osorio good thinking I almost forgot about that part
Saying that the mice are servants to the bedlam it could be reverse psychology or some of the mice disobey and want to help coraline and the others try to lead her to her doom
Genesis Osorio
The mice don't lead her to the door.
The fake rats that the bedlam created did.
Haley F True. But even then, the real mice still know about the door- and what's behind it- and warn Caroline of it. Is it simply that the mice are very observant in what happens at the Pink Palace?
Genesis Osorio He theorized that the mice were being taken by the Beldam and created into her own and so they grew aware. 😊
what if the beldam put that picture to make coraline more bored so she can keep on going to the other world more to have more fun and eventually sew button in her eyes maybe?
The beldam was a human, she lived in the pink palace. The cat was actually one of her victims but,she didn’t make a doll because he was her first victim so he got out great. When that boy died he got reincarnated into a cat to protect Whiley
In coraline , 1:03:06 , I saw a rug that looked like a compass in the room with the door... and the compass was pointing strait at the door!!!!!!!! Please , I know u said this was your final coraline video, but I think u can do at least 1 more.
Caroleann Ross when I saw the word final, I got a little upset. It feels like this is the last breath for this series and it's time to let it end for good.
what if coraline gets married and has children. She thinks that the evil is gone in the pink palace, so moves back to the house. what if the other mother get her revenge on her children.
Alexander Sanchez That's why we need a second part!!
Alexander Sanchez NO
Alexander Sanchez *That would soil the movie. That's so cliché...Don't ruin it with a part 2. Id rather see a realistic horror movie on it...*
Alexander Sanchez PLEASE I NEED A SECOND MOVIE
YEEEESSSSS
I agree with all of this, except the cat being the beldams child/helper. Your last theory on the cat was more believable, and to me this is a stretch.
8:50: THAT'S WAS WHAT I WAS THINKING!
One question.
How can the other mother see with her one hand, when she can't see with her button eyes?
Maryam Fuentes she doesn't see with her hand she controls it and also can see through it
She has control over the real world
Maryam Fuentes because she's like magical but he doesn't deserve any magic
Maryam Fuentes mothers has eyes everywhere
As they all say 😂
Iceeskyz 343 z
HOLY FUCK, WAIT THEORIZER!!!!!!!!! what if the entire film is just a game between the cat and the Beldam. Like they spend decades playing a game together for eternity as mother and son! This makes sense if the blue boy is her son and is the cat.
GAM Masters I think you need significantly more material to back that up.
Honorable Judge Hey guys i thought that the cat is the beldams Cat and the Cat ran out and thats the reason why the beldam os spying on Coraline couse the beldam knows that the coraline knows the Cat
(Meaning-The beldam dint want caroline but the beldam want the Cat so the beldam will have remembrance to the blue boy(beldams child) soo thats why the Beldam is sneeking in coraline😁😁😁
GAM Masters ya!!
Dude WTF really? GAM masters theory makes PERFECT sense.
U call yourself an "Honorable Judge?" LOL, U didn't even spell Honourable right LOL.
Sorry im in 3rd grade understand
I mean, what if coraline was just a phyco and none of this was real
OMG this is probably right🤭
YEH maybe. maybe she's just fantasizing all of this because she's bored at the new place.
yet im here looking for a secret door in my house! 😂😅
I love your channel so much!can't stop watching your videos
Maybe when the beldam found the other portal, she took advantage of this new world and forgot about her son. He tried finding her, and succeeded, because she lured him in. The beldam still having some soul, didn’t kill her child, only turned him into a cat so he would be with her for all eternity. She turned him into a BLACK cat, as to have an accomplice, and this is when the cat tried to escape. The beldam was upset that the cat (her son) wasn’t happy in this new world, and so tried to capture him so he couldn’t escape. However, she failed and the cat managed to make it back to the ‘real world’. The beldam can’t go to the real world, and so was angry that her son had left her. Because she had no love from her son anymore, and nothing to feed off of, she decided to lure more children in. This is when the cat tries to warn the children, as he knows the secrets about her..
This is only an idea..
Can you just say a cat
no one cares about the colour
MissesKitty no
@@johnsullivan186 Black cats aren't evil
@@aWERFRGT6545BGFG Also it's "color" Not "colour"
You're so smart 0.0 I've never thought about this!
What if they made a Coraline 2 where Coraline’s daughter was a grownup and she was obsessed with the warnings her mom gave her about the Pink Palace so Coraline’s daughter decided to move in. So while she is unpacking she finds the little door her mom always warned her about, and the key is lying in front of the door, so she waits until night and goes to unlock the door, she puts in the key, and twists and the door opens to a black empty tunnel. She gets disappointed so she shuts the door, forgetting to lock it and goes to sleep. The other mother then has access to our world. So say because Coraline’s daughter moved in, the other mother could target her, because she is the same bloodline as Coraline, and since the other mother never succeeded in capturing Coraline, it creates a loophole and she is able to drain Coraline’s daughter’s life energy from her world. I know what you’re thinking, “The other mother can’t cross worlds, so that isn’t possible” and to that I say, there is a cat that can. So maybe, the other mother is making a New World and is using Coraline’s daughter’s energy to make it.
I just kinda typed down all my thoughts so there’s probably a bunch of stuff that doesn’t make sense, but if you have any questions or other ideas, just reply down below, thanks!
Dairee , very nice, but here's the thing, I don't think that bloodlines matter that much into the other mother's powers. Not unless the theorizer's theory on the deleted scene of a spider gathering coraline's mother's genetic material is solid... One more thing, I think her power is limited or is abruptly halted on adults. She never really kidnapped Coralines real parents and is always targeting children, but then again since Coralines parents left at some point and didnt come back until near the end of the movie (perfectly safe in the real world, where they had been the whole time), I guess one could also make a case that in theory, the Bedlam could also feed off of the energy of an adult who had left the portal between worlds open and slept in the same room. It's very interesting but very hypothetical in nature, sounds like it would be interesting to explore in a fanfiction.
The key is thrown into the well
maybe there's a possibilty that since Coraline was one of the kids that she targeted but failed to capture that there might be soemthign still there for her to either continue to feed on when shes grown or reconnect or her daughter finds a world that is made not for her daughter but still for her. Just some food for thought. But I really like the idea of soemthign beign thrown off/ just there, because she was a failed attempt and probably the last one.
Especailly since Coraline would be a mother and just think about the fact that even the beldam is called other mother, just hte everythign that could come from it.
Mary El but, they said the well and tunnel looked similar and the well could have been a portal as well so that said the key could somehow still be reachable especially since coraline not only threw the key in the well but, the other mothers hand 🤔
Dairee woah
Okay!!! Wait! I'm shooked smh!😂🤦.. I watched this movies alone when I get the chance!! My boyfriend don't like it as much as I do!🤷..lol I love it! ❤️. Idk.. I watched about 10 times!🤗.. but shit. Nvm 🤷.. (I think)....still wanna see #2!?🤦

Ok, so, when you mentioned "the boy in blue" it reminded me of the painting my boyfriend's grandmother owns. Its called "the blue boy" by thomas gainsborough and the painting in coraline is totally a play on it. I looked into its backstory and I found this neat little tidbit of information.
"THE BOY MIGHT BE BLUE OUT OF SPITE.
Gainsborough had a heated rivalry with his portrait-painting peer Sir Joshua Reynolds. Some art historians have suggested that The Blue Boy was conceived as a glorious means of refuting Reynold's declarations on color. Specifically, Reynolds believed:
"It ought, in my opinion, to be indispensably observed, that the masses of light in a picture be always of a warm, mellow colour, yellow, red, or a yellowish white, and that the blue, the grey, or the green colours be kept almost entirely out of these masses, and be used only to support or set off these warm colours; and for this purpose, a small proportion of cold colour will be sufficient."
(This is copied words from the website I found.) I hope you find this interesting. :)
These theories just get crazier with time
I love it
Theorizer! at about 5:50, you said that the painting was made in the mid 1800s. But, this couldn't be true since, and i quote, "Although Marchiony is credited with the invention of the cone, a similar creation was independently introduced at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair by Ernest A. Hamwi, a Syrian concessionaire. Hamwi was selling a crisp, waffle-like pastry." In the picture it showed the boy with a dropped scoop of ice cream which fell off of a cone, but, as the text stated, the ice cream cone wasn't invented until 1904. I don't know if this has any relevance, but i just wanted you to know. cheers.
But why would the kids be so interested in the painting if it had a simple ice cream cone in it? The creators of Coraline made Coraline to be 11 years old, by then, she would have gotten over her ecstatic love for ice cream. Yes, everybody's love for ice cream carries on into adulthood BUT they show no interest. Coraline, as she's counting all the windows and doors, writes down "A boring blue boy in a PAINFULLY boring picture" **BORING** She shows no interest in the fallen ice cream. If you really think about it, she's 11! She simply just shows no interest in the fallen ice cream. If she did then she would've written down "A boy in blue who has dropped his ice cream" but she doesn't say that so she shows no interest. The Beldam knows that as the kids get older their interest in ice cream goes down so, there is no point in changing the picture. -- The age of the Blue Boy is about 8 or 9 and the Tall Ghost Girl is at least 13, so the Beldam is searching for a child to replace her son in the range of 8-13, placing Coraline right in the middle. At ages 8-13, kids are transforming from kid to teen and showing less and less interest in the "childish" things. -- Again, the Beldam know that kids are showing less interest in the "childish" things they used to love so there is no reason for her to change the picture. If we are basing it off of the year that the movie came out, 2009, Caroline would have been born in 1998, when the Ice Cream cone was long created. and the ghosts and cat, since they were already dead, i based their ages off the year the BOOK was publish, 2003. all the ghosts, including the cat, they were all born in the range of 1990-1996, also when the cone was already invented. There is no reason for the Beldam to change the picture for their appeal because it is already up to date.
+America Hermandez What you say does make sense but if you're just going by they year the book was published for the ghosts ages that dosent really fit. We don't know how old the ghosts were. The tall ghost looks very old-fashioned so she could have been alive in the 1800's. But in a different video the. Theorizer said that she was probably alive in they 1920's and that would fit the ice cream. But what I am trying to say is that we don't really know the ghosts ages in human years. They could be hundreds of years old! I am not trying to be a hater though and I respect all of these theories.
Using my detective skills I have figured out that you r British
+Jesus Christ No, partly Irish, but my American side shows most... sorry
(I just like the term 'cheers' btw)
+America Hermandez Good point, thanks.
The other mother HATES cats which means she hates her BOY
If it is her boy
Erinl and Ellal Tv because mabey when she was staving and had to replace body parts, she tried to eat her own soon but he ran away. But since he was trapped in the other world he had to make changes like his mother. Now she hates her son for not letting her eat him. So she MADE her own husband to replace her son
i love how your pfp is my one of my only two favorite FNaF characters (one being Fredbear/Nightmare) Ennard
though i don't really like FNaF
Erinl and Ellal Tv it could remind her
do u mean she hates the other wybie the wybie that doesnt talk?
Couldn't the cat just bring the key back up through the portal so he can put it in the draw again.
*shook*
This has always been my favorite movie like I have a t-shirt and I completely understand it’s but watching this makes me want to rewatch it😂
