Furniture Flip - Cleaning out my Stash one thrifted piece at a time!

- In today’s video I’m digging into my stash to bring you a furniture flip. I headed out to the greenhouse and grabbed {2} barstools and a base of a table that I had picked off the roadside and we’re going to transform them! This is a space that I want to reclaim this year so I'm pulling items out weekly to flip! Plus, I’ll be giving all 3 of my booths a huge refresh in the next few weeks so I need some furniture pieces to go along with all the smalls that I’ll be adding. This was a very simple flip, but I still love the outcome!

Sonnet, God Bless you girl!! You are growing as a creator and business woman. You are an inspiration to us all. Blessings to you and your 2023 goals!!
I love these pieces and they aren't just trendy. This style will last for ages. B
The furniture flips are my favorite.
The stools and table turned out awesome. I love the distressing. Also love the choice of fabric and stain. One more thing - it’s not hoarding!!!
You went from a hoard to a stash.....progress!!! 🙂 Great projects!
They all look great. And one other little item, if want to use the word “hoard” you go right ahead. Please don’t let others dictate the true Sonnet…that’s one of the reasons we love to watch and learn from you. Thanks, David and Carolyn
I like the way your handling your stash or hoard or whatever you want to call it. Going in with a conscious mind and pulling x number of items to flip. Makes room for new "found" items!
Love table as well as barstools. I agree that stencil on barstool is a great idea.
Love the way this turned out. A simple ticking stripe stenciled on the stools might look good as well.
By the way, Jami Ray Vintage says, " It's not hoarding if it's good junk!"
They turned out great! Love the colors on the tabletop.
I love destress furniture I think it beautiful ❤️. Thank you for sharing. Have a beautiful and blessed week.❤️💗❣️💕💝
Hoard is just a turn of phrase. We all one!😂
I think the drop cloth goes with everything. Do the blue ticking on the next stools.
Amazing work and table and barstools turned out beautiful!!
Another great video. Love how the stools and table turned out.
The distressing on these added so much character!!! Just awesome all the way around!
You’re known for using the word hoard and it wouldn’t be the same if you didn’t!
We love you just the way you are!! With “hoards” of un “centerized’” snowman noses! 😂
You’re the best Sonnet!
❤
The grey stain was a great choice.
I would definitely do the dropcloth!!!!! They all turned out awesome!!!!!!!
Love ticking and both the dropcloth. Definitely a stencil on the stools.I love the aged barrel stain . I have used it many times.
They turned out really pretty.
Super duper cute ☺️
Nice job. Maybe a flour sack stripe on the bar stools. Nice subtle accent. I probably would have kept painting the table top the color of the drop cloth or white.
I really want to get my room organized. I have stopped doing anything in there in months. Then someone took stuff down to my room and just put it anywhere. I cannot work with such dysfunctional chaos. Maybe this spring I will be able to get it turned around so I can do something I really enjoy.
Great advice on flipping the pieces over to get all the missed spots when painting. I like how the table and stools turned out (can't wait to see what you stencil on the seats). I like your idea of taking the month of January and using up some of your stash of thrifted items to flip. Not only does it thin out your inventory, but also a great way to freshen up your booths with new products (plus, you're providing us DIYERS wonderful tips). Thanks Sonnet 😊
I call Hoard, collection instead. 🤣 I love the dropcloth! Asalways, great job Sonnet! Tfs ❤️
Your “stockpile”.😻🇨🇦
Love how they turned out.
I love how you make the effort to paint all areas of the furniture; that really finishes things off beautifully.
I’ve been to the shop “Ye Olé’ Goat”, on my travels to upper Michigan - I LOVE that shop!
Loved everything!
❤ love them. Great job.
You are making such a dent in your "inventory" and I love all your distressing! I would totally put a stencil on the barstools!!
Great projects. I think they turned out great. Personally… I don’t like to do the distressed thing. Not because i don’t like it. Just because I don’t think I do a good job. LOL. And in my area there are several furniture painters. Just about all of them do some sort of distressed look. So I do more of a modern farmhouse with no distressing. And it sells as well.
But then there are some pieces that just beg to be distressed. For me its all about what the piece is calling for.
Looks great! I think a stencil or a stamp would look great on the stools.
I wish you would have shown how you attached the tabletop to the base. Terrific project!
Gorgeous ❤
I love your studio Sonnet! It is the perfect backdrop for your videos. Ok off to watch this video. I'm doing the same thing trying to reclaim my basement.
Love them. Yes, yes stencil would be so cute!! Or maybe a French kitchen towel stripe thing.... Can't remember what it's called. One thick strip and two smaller thin stripes....oh French ticking?
GREAT TIPS!!! THANKS FOR SHARING...
I think they turned out so pretty. I'm getting ready to re do my table & chairs so I'm glad I watched this video. ❤
❤your channel, I’m in the middle of painting my stash for our vintage boutique/XO from Southwest Louisiana 🐊🦀🥰
So pretty Sonnet!! I love the gray!!❤ I have bar stools and I think I am going to redo them with drop cloth and put them in my booth, I might add the animal stamps on top of the stools! 🤷🤷 Tfs💗
Lovely! Love drop cloth for so many projects. Thanks for sharing
It looks so nice!
Love the distressed look on furniture. I think I will like the stools with the table better after you add the stencil. Thanks for sharing as I have several stools to redo.
Darn it! I had stools like that and got rid of them when I moved🤦🏻♀️because I was tired of their look. That won’t happen again!😂
your decor in the back is looking SO good!!! Love it!❤🎉
I would like a gray stencil on the top of the stools to tie it in with the gray top of the table
You can’t go wrong with drop cloth
Yes, I was thinking the bar stool tops needed a stencil.
Call HOARD "inventory" instead!
I need to thin down my “inventory” as well. Great choice of wording!
I agree with the stencil or maybe the stripes
Thanks for another great video. The table and stools turned out beautiful. I love that grey stain. I think the drop cloth was a good call on the stools. Keeping stripes straight on a square or rectangle surface is difficult, on round 😵💫 probably would have ended up wonky.
Yes! I take Dawn and use it like lotion before I paint because I will have paint on me and it washes right off!😂❤
hoard
noun
a stock or store of money or valued objects, typically one that is secret or carefully guarded.
"he came back to rescue his little hoard of gold"
I wish you would have shown how you attached the tabletop to the bottom. Everything else I could have figure it out on my own
Hi Sonnet, I Love the Table, but I don’t like the distressed look, but that’s ok, The top of it is beautiful,
I love the table, your choice of stain was perfect!
❤️❤️❤️
How did you attach the top to the bottom? Love the flip glad you are going through your inventory. 😍
They all turned out great looking. Only thing I would of done different is used a satin or mat top coat. Not a big fan of the shine.
Turned out so good…..one piece at a time right?
The colors are great. I think the stools are just little bit too high, would you consider cutting them down or leave as is incase someone uses them somewhere else.
Stash is another word that's less negative than hoard. In my personal view items don't become inventory until they are ready to sell. I don't care for the term "hoard" but oh well. Lots of people I watch use it.
Oil any kind takes-off stains too
They turned out great! I love that gray stain, I looked in the description but couldn’t find the name of it, could you tell me what it is? Thanks for sharing your flips 😊
These turned out so pretty sonnet. I absolutely love them.
It’s a death pile not a hoard! 😂
Its never hoarding....I like to call it collecting new pieces!!!!
What is the difference between Liquid Patina and Big Top? I know Liquid Patina is a great decoupage medium but can Big Top be used a sealer on smalls?
Maybe stash instead of hoard
Help! My paint is coming off while I seal with poly! What am I doing wrong? I don’t like to use wax for sealing, I’m not good at it and I didn’t have Big Top. I did use Little Black dress.
Okay, I need to know what I’m doing wrong. I recently purchased quite a few colors of DIY paint. I painted a piece of furniture, used the top coat and it looked horrible! It had so many brush strokes (I used a good brush) and it just looked like the paint was too thick. I tried sanding it lightly by hand. I don’t know if I’m using too much paint or what? I painted inside, so cold weather wasn’t a factor. Now, I’ve been successful and really like it for small pieces. I ended up sanding it all the way down to the wood and started over. Help! ~ Linda
They didn't look like they matched to me
not loving the grey stain. otherwise awesome flips!
The stool covers didn’t match the table, a gray fabric would have been better
If you want to call it a hoard, call it a hoard. If people don't like it, they don't have to use the word for pete's sake.
