I recently stumbled onto Jumbo at like ep 12, and I was like holy cow whats this. Havent skated since 2012. Binged all the eps, saw Andrew Broom for the first time, found out he had a pro skate and decided to get back into it. I owe a lot to jumbo, especially the wholesome feel of the videos that make me want to get back to it.

Cody, the jumbo crew and Ant are the people who got me back into skating.
That group of people are similar to the crew we'd skate with 20 years ago.
All walks off life hanging out, talking shit and pushing each other.
Hope the rain stops next month and I'm back.

So wonderful interview, had to speak on the dad mode lol. I would say it’s harder as a father who wife also skates. It’s presents challenges, we both wanna pull up to the spot and skate but one has to get the wagon packed, snacks, make sure cartoons are on, make sure our daughter is settled enough to be able to concentrate on skating. A lot of bladers have wife’s or husbands that stay home and watch the kiddo. Love the context,great convo and looking forward to seeing the next one. Let’s Go Texas!!!!!

The discussion about solo projects/filming on your own vs. crew videos/projects is interesting-it can be a bummer to do solo stuff, but I think a part of it is just that folks are older. Yes, crew videos can happen, and very good crew videos can happen (Chance of Rain etc), but it’s tough. For instance, here in town there are a few desk-job, 9-to-5ers, then a few gig workers who can skate nonstop for a couple weeks then can’t at all for a couple weeks, then dad bladers who can’t get out till the kids are asleep. And when folks have limited time, they’d rather go to a skatepark than street (no chance of getting booted, for one thing). All that means that a collaborative street project is either going to a) be great but take a pretty long time, b) take less time to make but be kinda meh, or c) not happen.
