this man is a wrench who never loss touch with his roots.
A wrench is a tool
"The way you get business is being better than everyone else."
Love that.
As a roofing start up business something hit me hard, don’t be the cheapest be the best option
Funny you mention that, guess what the next suggested video was for me? czcams.com/video/fO15fGQZ-WQ/video.html
Moral of the story:
1) To become rich you need to find a way of serving other people
2) If you're bad with money, marry someone who is good with money.
Hehe !!!!!!
Yes 🤔
Ehm no... The real moral of the story is: Get people to work for you, and make money of their work. Dont sell your time, buy and sell other peoples time for a profit.
Or start trading rhe stock markets and dont give up its easy if you just give yourself time
Moral of story : Those guys are old school, haha
Love how he credits his wife to his success! It’s so important to have a partner in tune with your values!
It's not important. It's essential.
That was dumb of him. He made the money she organized it. He could have paid an accountant to do that and it probably would have been less expensive.
A lot of people don’t like to admit it but behind a good man is a better woman🤷♂️
It’s not important.
@@Live-Life-Freely So true. You can pay somebody to do your accounts but you can't pay somebody to build a multi-million dollar business from the ground up. She was just along for the ride, women love to take credit for men's success.
I thought this was going to be about a mechanic who saved his pennies and retired a 401k millionaire.
He runs a business with a huge plant.. he's not even a blue-collar
@Central Intelligence Agency Sure, i wasn't critical of him! But it's not surprising at all that a business-owner can get very rich! It's not big news. The fact that he started by being an employee doen't change anything. He had to start his own business to make money.
Did you even watch the video?? This guy personally worked on Diesel engines for YEARS before having his own huge plant. That’s as Blue Collar as it gets brainiac. 💯🇺🇸👍🏻
What’s a 401k
@@ismaeel2822 If you don't know what a 401k is, you should really look into it, usually comes with your job
Great partnership with his wife.
Agreed! And he had no problem telling the world!
You Mean.Carol ....Baskin?
@@ezra.s.s7312Hey, he's no Brad Pitt, but it works for them so ...
She is probably waiting for him to go so she can pay for a 20 year old college boyfriend!!! 🤪
It’s things like this that make me never want to get married
This man is the epitome of what is good about our country, and the quote “it’s about greed, I want to keep this money, so I do the work myself” is what every person should strive for.
My husband is a 6 figure grease monkey and I'm so darn proud of him! It won't be too far away when were millionaires. Way to go dude!!
What a great gentleman. Willing to get his hands dirty and is reaping the fruits of his labours. I wish him every success.
I love people that make good money in careers no "instagram worthy"... Many are always looked down upon. That's fine, means less competition and more bank for you.
Man that’s just wrong. I do LS swap harnesses and sell 3 a day at $500 each. Instagram/ Facebook goes a LONG way. How are people gonna know if you’re any good without a portfolio?
@DieselPatches IsHomo his statement flew over you head,IG worthy is something appealing, something that will generate alot of hype and traffic, tell me how many people will be interested in diesel machines then compare it to chefs or fashion designers
DieselPatches IsHomo - ^ do you guys know how to read? He was speaking on the aesthetics of his career compared to more appealing careers on social media. Not the value social media brings to business.
@@MrPland1992 whats your NET on those 3 harnesses?
@@daycol3711 depends what I sell them for, I give my repeat customers deals. It’s $20-$30 for a stock harness from the junkyard, $20 in supplies and takes about 3-4 hours each to redo/ clean up. Basically all profit. I’m really lazy tho and usually only work a few days a week. I could work all day every day but I’m tired of doing it. Money isn’t everything but then again I make more in 3 hours now than two weeks full time at my old job.
I also have to drive 400 miles round trip to get the cores, gas in my truck, food etc. I just sleep in my truck.
Good, hard-working success story. He saw the opportunity, did it better than anyone and now gets to charge whatever he asks and is still very much involved in every step of the business, in the shop.
Small business done right.
Made in America 🇺🇸
Just like medical bankruptcies :-)
@@millsathn yeah I'd rather have socialized medicine where you die from neglect.
@@paulrevere365 where’s that happening?
@@millsathn best example Cuba. Plenty of doctors, zero medical equipment or supplies. Then just ask anyone from Europe who can NEVER get knee surgery or wait 5 months for chemotherapy. My friend went from stage 1 liver cancer to stage 4 before he was treated. He died.

Not all money is made in silicon valley.
Some is made by hard work in traditional industries. In this case, oilfield support, is victim of the pandemic

skitzmaker a lot is spent as well. 1.2 mill, you’ll be lucky to by a shack there
Joseph Roberts huh? 1.2 mil gets you 2-4K sq feet here
Are you serious? He hat 120employees but Only has a 1,2m Home. An average Silicon valley employee could afford a was bigger home after working so Many years
I wonder how oil bankruptcies will affect his business thou...
Why is this a surprise? Diesel mechanics don't work repairing Corollas. These diesel engines cost more than your house
Houses here in this part of California are $1.4M on average. What the heck are you talking about? Economics 101.
@@krasnaludek298 He was meaning the average American's house, which is $110,000 new iirc
The RTA96-C diesel retails about $400 million. Container ship engine diesels can cost more than entire California neighborhoods. Education 101.
This is what I love seeing. A man who put his blood sweat and tears into his dreams and making it work. Living life the way he wants to!
Amazing story. I know a few people who did things like this. I knew a guy who had an old dump truck and trailer and old tractor. He use to spread dirt and grass seed. I even worked for him spreading straw on a few jobs. Later he ended up with his own construction company and became one of the biggest roadway and bridge contractors in the Southeast.
Great lessons!
1-Changed his business model from being cheeper than anybody, to being better than everyone !
2- live life now , and work hard while you are living it
3- he didn't say this, but , you will love your job when you are the best at it 😁
Mad respect. His whole life is a flex but he worked hard for it. Can't say I wouldn't do exactly the same if I was in his position. Living the dream
I love the full on commercial kitchen. No apologies or attempts to make something else or dilute it. Practical and functional.
I love his energy! We need more of that in this world. God bless you and your family!
Absolutely living the American dream. I love stories behind hard working men and women earning their way every day like this husband and wife team does it. God bless you and your family. 'Merica.

Great success story. I love it. Thank you for this video. It shows that it can be done. What a nice guy.
This is awesome. Congrats to the Hulett family. This is the dream we are all working towards.
I love this guy, all the hard work paid off!!
He is single-handedly reviving the American dream. American shop, workers in america, no out sourcing, that is pure awesomeness. That man fort is badass, too!
My father RIP was 48 yr diesel mechanic. He taught me everything he knew. I'm 34 years into my diesel mechanic career and my wife with her 30-year career as a ER nurse are almost at retirement and we are at the point of enjoying the rest of our lives together. I didn't get rich but I'm not poor. People say you can't make it in diesel repair or for that matter gasoline engine repair are the type that don't want to make it. Enjoy your life brother you deserve it
How much do spend in tools?
Diesel mechanics gross $100k a year
Much respect for this gentleman. Enjoy the fruit of your labor!
Work ethics and integrity.
Loyal to his customers.... breeds success.
We need more interest in skilled labor like this. You can really take it where you want it. This is great motivation!
I need to watch more videos like this to keep myself in the game instead of all that chaos going on in the US
Good job, man. Hard work rewarded accordingly.
Very, very cool dude and nice people. He deserves to enjoy the results of his very hard work.
Love stories about people like this. The American dream is still alive!
Exactly the kind of person that earned his money, (i worked hard to get here and i am not ashamed of how it happend)
"No someday" i like that
This guy and his wife are doing ALL RIGHT. And he deserves every inch of it. 💪🏻
Awesome! This is a real tangible and profitable skill set. Guys like this are needed in our school systems.
Like he says "at first it was 16 hours a day, 6 days a week" you can become successful and skilled in many different things. You have to work *hard* for it before it begins to pay off.
These guys are the REAL ones you should respect and listen to, not the con-artist 'get rich quick' guys that are all over CZcams, Facebook and Instagram that promise you that they are rich and only sell courses.
Fantastic another great entrepreneur . We need more like you my friend. Hard work but you made it all worth it .
Love this story. it resonances. Hard and smart work pays off at last.
*This is a great story, very inspirational*
An amazing inspiration and a great team effort to achieve success through hard work and smart work.

Great! Thank you for sharing
Love this awesome guy that’s how you live life don’t worry to spend on yourself so many people pass away with millions in their account focusing so much on saving they forgot life can take you in a blink of an eye
Promote trade work with the same enthusiasm as you do “college”
Why is college in quotes lol
Because the American College system is a COMPLETE and UTTER joke!!!
@@MStroyeck I agree with that 100 percent.
it's not college or trade work thats the key to success. the key is doing SOMETHING well for others, and making money as result.
Shoosh we don't want more tradesmen, the less of us the better lol.
Hard work and dedication!
Can’t believe CNBC is promoting capitalism 😁

Nope!! The bluehealer dog was the first partner and investor that believed in him.
The "american Dream" at its best, thats what capitalism is about, good job man!
You sir are living proof that while a college degree is always good, its not absolutely necessary for a successful career. Besides who wants to pay student loans for the next 35 years of their life. congrats sir on your success.
My old boss at fort collins automotive was a millionaire. He was gonna open a dairy queen but decided a automotive shop was better in the 60s. Its operating today still.
Smart move. Looks like I will be on a shopping spree for industrial mechanic shops. If what you say makes sense. They are highly lucrative.

That's really interesting. Way to Think Outside the Box 👍
There's just one thing I have to talk about: Survivorship Bias.
Other people need to share in this success too. But it's difficult for the average person.
Because they're chasing so many Job Applications, and don't know where to start.
But other than that: These segments do bring-up pretty good ideas.
Good for this guy. Many are jealous but he really worked hard.
With the price of oil recently it's probably not going to be a good time for him for a while.
