Introduce this dude to the LAST GAMER! lol
Where is he based? Cool doc & project!
guys are kinda assholes for not including thier patreon link
VICE aaaaawwwwww vice disable their comment sections on their vids.
Hey Vice! Why does my dislike repeatedly disappear on the monetizing thirst video?
Why did you delete all the comments?
This guy is doing a great job!
💯
Hi karl😍❤
This is actually really really nice. It's not just a collection, it's a real historical concern. I like this project a lot.
Met Frank and Kelsey yesterday, and they were very nice and conversational people.
I wasn't even born when most of these games came out, but I love so many of them, and have such a passion for keeping them preserved. Hopefully someday I can learn what they need to help keep a slice of history preserved for all us nerds, and anyone else that's curious about video game history.
Good on you, Frank.
Aye thought I'd see you in here
Hey everyone it’s Pat!!!
Lol there's Pat the NES Punk
There should be a physical and digital museum for video games!
The US library of congress should have this in their budget, along with the Smithsonian to preserve culture and history.
Those were my thoughts as well. Frank & friends should make friends with some Congress & Senate members & get the mindset going, as their storage space has got to be an issue, if not now, soon.
smashingpumpkin3 Looks like dude in the video has got it covered lol
You'd think something like that would actually be in existence, in multiple places.
They should do one piece about the Islamic Slave Trade, theyd get little info from my page. Im pretty sure this topic would create a lot of discussion. The biggest reason they should do this imo is that muslims around the world deny these facts vigorously when in fact there is a mountain of evidence of their 15 century atrocities that actually continue STILL TO THIS DAY
Frank Cifaldi is a global treasure.
manu ochenta Every field and endeavor needs people that work passionately for whatever end goal there may be. So while we of course need more people working to preserve and protect our planet, working to preserve our culture and history is equally important. Without proof of our history we might as well have never existed.
And video games are very much a part of that cultural history. And it’s a history that, just like books, radio and film before it, runs the risk of having huge chunks of it lost to the void of time. From an art preservation standpoint, that’s horrifying.
Thus, people like Cifaldi are extremely important. Him doing his thing has nothing to do with others doing what they can to preserve our planet, other than the fact that they’re both in the business of preservation, and it certainly isn’t a reflection of anybody’s intelligence, nor lack there off.
manu ochenta you can't enjoy something cause bad thing happen
manu ochenta you got evidence that video games make people dumb, you wouldn't be talking out of ur ass now would ya?. Surely not on CZcams, where everything is fact. You would be able to provide peer reviewed sources and studies showing ur right and not a massive douche nozzle who really couldnt give 2 fucks about earth and nature but you couldn't pass up the chance to virtue signal on a goddamn joke post. Nah you ain't that kinda asshole garbage human are ya??
manu ochenta Damn bro, you're so enlightened
We need more guys like him
Do we?
Nic Osmond angry video game nerd
there tons of collectors. way way more than his.. he does not even reach the average.
Cat owning soyboys?
There needs to be a national video games museum. You can use one of their archive computers to look thru entire issues of old magazines for research or play any video game ever.
guy opened up a secret basement through a closet. lol
That is some Narnia level there
pej f you mean he open a portal to another dimension with his mind
Nerds really have there secret World lol
I'm like, how did he get the arcade machines down there
Preservation of any media is of the utmost importance.
This guy deserves a lot of respect.
I really hope these guys work with the various emulator groups out there - digitizing and preserving forever.
This is great to see. I am happy that one of us is able to devote their time to this.
This is so great! I love it. This deserves much more support.
great vid very heart warming to know people like that are out there doing what they do
Not the hero we deserve but the hero we need
Seems important! I’d love to go to a museum like this, especially in 50 years from now
KC 2016 Well damn I doubt that I'll be alive in fiddy years
Henri Kirsi Outside of Dallas TX, they have an Amazing Arcade Museum.
M Goode That's nice but I live in Helsinki, Finland. Maybe one day I'll travel there to see the Dallas Stars play and pay the museum a visit as well

A great report and a great story. It's fantastic that Frank and Co are tracking down, documenting and attempting to preserve the historical context of video games, as well as the games themselves.
You might say, this guy is a " Serious Gamer" .
ChefGiovanni Duh. That a joke?
ChefGiovanni yea, puts that slob Boogie to shame
But would he be serious playing csgo casual and getting all upset?
You might say this guy is an incel Gamer.
I worked on a Navy contract that was part of the internet connection between the DOD and higher education. There were rooms of computers and you would not believe the cheers and happy clapping for programming a personal Happy Birthday message for someone to show up on a screen. That was 50 years ago. The treasures you will have 50 from now will be priceless.
The most important game in history is Maple Story
Thank you for all your hard work, Mr. Cifaldi.
Honestly, he is doing a fantastic job. Just like films, vgs have been losing a lot. There is a lot of problem with preserving video games. We would lose a great part of our culture and history if we lost them. Even the video games of today, need to be watched and kept
I was skeptical of what will eventually happen to all those classic gaming arcade machines and the other timeless gaming pieces. Now I can be rest assured there are people out there saving the classic gaming world.
James C I have saved a couple arcade machines and I'm working on saving another from being destroyed. I actually brought my Killer Instinct back to life on my CZcams channel. It was mostly gutted out and robbed for parts. Nothing to brag about video wise though as I'm not that good at making them.
I've been playing video games since I was 3 years old. I'm now 16 and it never crossed my mind to collect the history of games.. This is a great idea
Hey man, do you still have this account? I want to know how you’re doing at (i’m guessing!) 20 years old. Have you gotten into it? How’s life?
amazing work!!
Frank is one of my icons. Inspired me to become more of an archivist for the related media and surrounding development of my favorite game. I'm glad people are taking the steps to archive and preserve game history. It's an art form, and having it be around for the next generation is important.
So happy someone is doing this. You are the Man 🤙🤙
keep up my bro , we need people like you out there , keep up the good work and save history
Please more video game videos VICE 🙏🏽 I really like these type of videos!
this is so amazing! deyymm! you are a true video game hero. i admire your determination and hard work
Way to go, Frank. We appreciate you man.
You're a hero! I'm so happy I got to grow up when video games just began.
The man this world needs .
This guy is doing gods work. It's super important for preservation and history that all games are saved and properly stored, for future generations. Awsome work.
That's awesome I used to play that Carmen SanDiego all the time when I went over my aunt's house as a kid.
This is great, keep it up!
These days there are a few privately held seriously impressive game collections out there. What is badly needed now is for countries and states around the world to take this medium seriously - build and run state-backed museums and archives (a la MOMA, Natural history Museum, Science Museum etc) giving people access and preserving these cultural masterpieces for the future.
Awesome upload ! Franks doing great work for the Talented people who created the games and the Music within and shall now forever be remembered = Beautiful ! Thanks for the upload .
What happened to your pins and needles series?!!?! I was just getting into the series and now they've disappeared.... that's a little more than mildly upsetting. Best thing I've watched in a lonnggggg time. Bring it back!
Great video and I have so much respect cause people like him are saving important history
Keep it going man! Gaming is its own unique thing and it should be remembered!
Great stuff, keep at it Frank
Can I join his guild? Or can he just be my dad? Either is cool.
Your dad? ...How young are you?
@@JanetStarChild adopted dad
So damn cool! Keep it up Frank and co!!
I played "Where in North Dakota is Carmen San Diego" back in grade school.
Give this man a museum!
I would totally be friends with these guys they seem so relaxed and comfortable and casual and fun
Video Game Devs beware: All the bugs in your game will forever be documented
More of this type content thanks
Keep doing Gods work, my man!
Good for you man, still got my original NES!!
Imagine having a video game collector uncle or aunty when u r a little kid😍...absolute heavens❤
i will donate some of the videogame relics we have at home.. i just want to have a museum about this stuff.. its really how i remeber my childhood was, and how my brother introduced me to this industry
Love the Dragon's Lair poster. That game always stuck with me for various reasons.
i dont even play video games but this guy seems really cool
This was cool !
Itd be a real shame if those houses ever caught fire, flooded or were hit by a tornado.
Amazing, thank you Frank! This is a surprisingly important task that many people have overlooked. Its human history.
this guy is a legend.
Guy needs to start a museum/interactive experience 👌
Good job
my dad got me a Magnavox Odyssey when i was a kid..it was fun for about 10 minutes :/ what i remember most was the controller wires were the size of car battery cables..
There should be a preservation society for these games and systems. It's an important facet in history.
This guy is the real hero!
The hero we need
Great guy!
Very interesting.
i would have liked it to have been a bit longer... i know he will have more amazing things to show then what was seen.
This man is on a mission
This guy is awesome.... nuff said.
cool video VICE!
u my friend r a legend
video games are a work of art
Frank's a great dude. Catch him on old Insert Credits podcasts.
Good for him
Can someone please tell me the type of music that is in the end!? It’s so amazing
This man is a hero
Unforgettable memory Of childhood I still Love video games
VICE, why are your latest tattoo documentaries blocked in certain countries? I’m a subscriber that loves watching your content and it’s frustrating to be unable to access it. Please make them available for viewers like me, unless you want us to either stop being subscribers or to use vpns to be able to access it, which is absolutely ridiculous.
I’m a weirdo just like these guys. 🤣 love the old games.
he's doing for video games what greg turkington did for film with the victorville film archive
Just started to collect N64 games.. But damn, this guys collections.
They should build a video game museum where people can go and actually see all these pieces of history. And maybe if you pay extra they will allow you to play it once if you want to feel nostalgic.
dedication!
I wish I was this guy's neighbour !! Could play any of those wonderful games any time I wanted. !!
Games are like Art and they neeed to BE saved for the Next generations
So important
You're my hero Frank :)
Power to people like him
worst decision i ever made was trading in my stacks of PS1 and PS2 games i still and will always intensly hate and resent myself for this shameful deed of shame ( the sufferagettes)
Glad you said that. Was thinking of selling my Ps3 and games.. but I'm gonna keep it now
Sanada 真田Yukimura 幸村 LOL
We've all been there brotha
Yeah, well now you can download every single one of them onto a 500 gig SD card for free, and play them on a 35 dollar raspberry pi... So I wouldn't get too bent out of shape about it bud.
gstylez0107 physical copies will always be better to have
This stuff reminds me of my childhood.
Carmen san diego.... wow i remember that she would always escape☺
THIS VIDEO, is WAY WAY WAY Too short. god dam it. I WANT MORE PLEASE
