Parts flying off and spending more time searching than repairing, I'm very familiar with this😁

Love your videos, very informative. I too have a bad spindle motor. I am having a hard time finding a replacement. Do you have a source or recommendation for a replacement spindle motor for the Bose 3 disc changer? Looking for replacement part numbers that are the same spec as original? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm working on a NAD 521i single disc player that shows 'disc error' and not reading discs. I found the laser was out so it was replaced yet the problem persists. All precautions installing the laser was taken including the unsoldering of the static safety point. All motors function as intended and switches on the sled were cleaned, rails lightly lubricated, ribbon connectors checked for condition and continuity, different cds trying but resulting in the 'no disc' condition. At this point I suspect one of the ic's has an issue that controls the laser but not entirely yet sure. What's your take on this? Thank you!

HI - My Bose 3 disc changer (SerNo 037756980330151AC) isn't spinning at all. After applying power it shows disk error on all 3 drive locations even with 3 disks installed. The single CS drive in the radio works normally. Once power is applied (with case removed) I can see that it cycles through the 3 mechanisms (and the front leds light one at a time) (probably to see which disks are present) but then there is no rotation of any disks. I did notice that the triangular metal platform isn't level as it goes up and down. When 1 corner gets all the way to the top one of the other corners sags about 1/8th of an inch lower. Do you think one of the worm-screws got misaligned, out of sync, or broken? Can you suggest anything for me to try? Is there any suggestion as to what may be causing this such as lack of lubrication or misaligned gears? I'll keep trying. Thanks and keep up the good work.

I forgot to mention in my comments of an hour ago that none of any of the 3 disks actually loads all the way into the play position. No wonder they're not turning! Also, after cycling power about 10 times, the platform no longer goes up and down but now stays in the lowest position no matter how many times I remove and reapply power. I guess I have more problems than I thought.

      Hello John,
To give you some help if you have not gotten any yet there are micro switches that could be the cause to your problem if you look up where the micro switches are a video will pop up which explains it all. Going over all the ones I have personally repaired that has been one of the major issue that comes up.

@@kaseymartin3645 Thanks for the help. My problem turned out to be a misalignment of the C-shaped metal bracket that is held between the upper metal plate and the lower assembly. The bracket had moved when I replaced the upper metal plate. Once I realigned it onto the upper and lower pivot points the disks loaded properly. Thanks again. I also fiddled quite a bit with two of the three worm screws that lift and lower the platter. I got them to work quite well and the disks seem to play just fine. Quite satisfying to get this far.

You always want to replace a component that is rated the same as the original.
