Buy out Girard, drop Middelstadt, and keep Drouin.
But out Girard? He was fantastic this year. Clearly their third best defenseman, a key PK contributor, has the skating needed to keep up with CO and is on a deal drastically lower than what he’d get on open market. Paying to not have a good player is just beyond stupid. Mittelstadt is also a cost controlled asset since he’s an RFA. You can’t have 20 superstars. You need some good and affordable players. Girard and Mitt are both of those.
@@kaiolson8083 lol I stopped reading when you said Girard was less than market value. Sam scores five goals a year, and is porous defensively. He's not worth 5 million, and never will be. He has a no trade clause, which is why we should get him off our salary cap. And middelstadt will negotiate 6-7 mill a year, which is way more than he's worth
We won alot of games down the stretch including the playoffs, none of which was because of h. Drouin fit perfectly in our system though.

Thank you so much for saying this. I've been saying this since last year. Just about every movr hes made has been trash, and it won't be much longer until we miss the playoffs. Sakic built this team well, and MacFarland is tearing it down. If he signs middelstadt.and drops droiun, I'll be just about done with the team until they get rid of him.
