Imagine having one of the best soundtracks that were ever written in the history of cinema and still not using it to hype up your sequel’s trailer.
That original music is SO powerful that watching this trailer gave me chills.

A Shame Hans Zimmer didn´t get an Oscar for the Soundtrack that year. One of the most legendary soundtracks of all time, but no sh*tty Oscar....

This is a vast improvement. I swear, it's almost like they either didn't want to use Hans Zimmer's score in the actual trailer on purpose, or just didn't want to pay him the royalties.

Per Wikipedia, Zimmer decided not to return because he did not want to repeat his work from the first film. In an interview with Curzon, he said that the film was "in really good hands" with Gregson-Williams, who had started his career as Zimmer's assistant.

How was it so damn difficult as a multi billion dollar Studio to figure this out???? Absolutely hated the real one because of the music they chose.
Because they (the elites) are so far up there (at least they think they are) and isolated among each other, that they are seriously out of touch with reality. They bounce off ideas among themselves or their posse which happen to be full of yes men/women.

The trailer is also under 2 minutes, which I respect you for that. Trailers nowadays give everything away making you feel you watched the whole movie.

This trailer is soo much better....
Now THIS is what the trailer should've been, music wise and edit wise. Instead of being a 3 min trailer with a hip hop track, it should've been at least a 1-2 min trailer with the OG HZ score (or even use a little bit of what Harry Gregson-Williams scored for this one if he had any). People say trailers "don't matter" and that it's "just a trailer," but it matters. It's the product's first impression. Otherwise, there's no point in having trailers/teasers.

I'm not a fan of things going viral but this one definitely needs to take over whatever we'd seen (or rather heard) in the first trailer. We need to un-hear that original version. This one needs to go viral. And I'm not even into people self-promoting themselves or their products. But I am with you on this one. This version was way better.
Let's put this out there, people. Even without Paramount's approval, let's show the studio what good marketing campaign looks like especially when you augment appropriate music.

There's so little spoiled by this version. There is no spoon feeding of the audience. The origins of Gladiator remain mysterious. The Rhino sequence is cut at the right moment. How a trailer should be done.

@@louisrios5546 Could be, but people are going to the movies less and less nowadays regardless of age group. In fact, in this case one of the big things to draw people in would be nostalgia from older viewers - not curiousity from younger ones. Top Gun Maverick for example didn't have to somehow reinvent itself with a new hip rap song playing in the background. And that movie was absolutely huge.
Was at the Royal Albert Hall on Sunday for Zimmer v Williams and they did this,amazing to hear it live with full orchestra

Now this is how you do it, the soundtrack perfectly fit the tone of the movie and the way how he show Denzel acting and how he talks in this trailer is much better because in the original trailer it's like Denzel character didn't belong in that era. Whoever Hollywood had that edited and approved the original trailer needs to be fired and hire this man asap.

I would definitely watch the movie if THIS was the official trailer.
It’s sad because when a trailer is made so well to the point that you find yourself going back to watch those trailers even after you’ve seen the movie. Because its job is to sell you on the movie, to make you believe, to Intrigue. And for that to happen there has to be an obvious sense of passion. A certainty just being watching a *trailer* that there’s clearly people behind it who understand the assignment. I still don’t have my hopes up for this movie. But for this 1:54 long trailer I believed that this movie would be amazing. This movie is going to TANK Ridley Scott’s career if it ending up being as bad as the first trailer they put out this morning.

I said in my video that this would've been the best path to go down. Make a rendition of the original theme and use it for the trailer and you automatically have people hyped.

Imagine having a Hans Zimmer score and not using it. People really, truly underestimate the effect of a score in a film. The song 'Honour him' evokes so much emotion that you could almost make the trailer with still images and give people more goose bumps than the original trailer. In the trailer I made for BLOODSPORT REDUX it was so important to repurpose the original soundtrack and its one of the more common things people commented on.
People don't realize how much music matters. This edit proves that.
Oh to be a fly on the wall in the meeting where some marketing executive suggested playing a hip hop song during the trailer for Gladiator 2.

Literally got chills when the music kicked in, and a wave of nostalgia hit me like a ton of bricks. That didn't happen at ALL in the original trailer, so they missed BIG TIME. Well done here.
