Some things are better left alone. Everything in his gut told him that he shouldn't meddle in things beyond human understanding. He chose to preserve himself rather than sacrifice himself for the sick curiosity of others. Sounds like a rational decision to me.

Plus I thought of the idea about using a camera as a method of seeing ghosts interesting as something that has not happened before in the world of Thomas the tank engine, even if this story doesn't take place on sodor
