Any tips on getting image permissions, like is it just a 'yes' in email? Do the photographers usually want to be credited on the page?

I just send them an email and they are usually happy for you to use their photos for free. On the page or on a different page for credits, somewhere in the front of the magazine :)

If you use Canva they automatically have the right size but when printing, yes :)

Hi,
Absolutely! So you would just put the horizontal image across the two pages, although every now and then some of the middle could get cut off but usually not. If your worried about that, just cut the image down the middle and place the images as close as you can get them to the middle.
Can we place our magazine title behind an image? By that I mean if I'm designing a cover and it has an image of a person, can I place the text behind the head of the person? I hope this makes sense. Thank you so much for your tutorials! I just created my first magazine!
You sure can! You just put the text over the image and then run away the text that is on the person. I’m not too sure if you can do this in Canva or if it is more of a photoshop thing though…

@@authoralaskawalters So it's called Cara Mia Magazine..I'm a model and i made an exclusive magazine of my recent beach photo shoots for my fans on social media. It will be sold on MagCloud of course, but I haven't launched it yet. I hired a marketing person to help with the launch. So when you say run away the text, I don't see an option for that on Canva. I may have to adjust the photo size and add title, unless I use photoshop just to design the covers? Or some other software that is user friendly.
I think photoshop is the best option in this case. Or you could google if there is an option for that for Canva.
Sorry I’m not more help! You could also try bookbrush. It’s a new website I found that could work! It’s for book covers but I think it could do the same thing.

I figured out how to do it!!! I’m going to make a video on it, but basically, you get your background image, put the text on it and then get the same image again, remove the background of that image using the background remover tool and then place the backgroundless image of the person over the person on the original image with a background and over the text.

Did I miss where you get it printed?
I’m not sure if I mentioned it in this video but I get my magazines printed at Magcloud.com :) they print the best quality, are cheap and allow you to print 1 copy as apposed to a batch.
It really is such a great additional passive stream of income!
Amazing! I found lots of kind of job search websites. You just advertise your magazine and specify if your paying them or not
