How lucky for all of us to have the privilege of growing up with Bob Newhart. A truly gifted entertainer. Thanks Bob for all the happiness you provided all of us. May God bless you and your family.
Bob's wonderful comedy routines were unique. They were cleverly crafted and very funny. I have lost count of how often I have listened to his driving instructor skit. It never gets old. Right up until his final years, he was comedy perfection. He will be greatly missed. RIP Bob
Top ten heroes of my life. I was born in 1970 in Cleveland Ohio so listened to his albums and watched his sitcoms and watched his stand up on tv. Love you Bob.
I was in the audience at the Raymond Theatre in Pasadena, CA for the taping of this special -- the tickets were a birthday present from my girlfriend at the time. Dick Martin (from Rowan and Martin) was the director, and got a big ovation when he came out to talk to us before Bob came on.
It's amazing how Fresh he made the old bits. And just goes to show you that one does not have to use curse words to be Really Funny. We were fortunate this former accountant decided to enter comedy.
We had such great, clean, really funny comedy in bygone days. Bob Newhart was one of my all time favorite comedians from the time I first watched him in black and white television on the Ed Sullivan Show. He is sorely missed.❤
I loved Bob Newhart. I was a 14 yr. old freshman in high school when Bob Newhart started out. I took theater or speech as an elective all 4 years of high school. , and my Thespian friends, all loved Newhart and I still have my vinyl records of his first two albums to this day. If you have never heard them, you should listen to them. This was one one the funniest men…so glad he did not stay in accounting! You are going to be very missed. Rest in peace and have fun with your pal Don Rickles in heaven. You have made so many people happy….thank you.
Uh, Mr.Carlin, can I borrow your "toop?" RIP Bob we will miss you terribly. Tell Suzanne Pleshette,Mary Fran, Tom Poston and Bill Daly and all the rest how much we all miss them too.
I just got the news Bob passed away. Although he had a long and wonderful life It’s just sad to know he is no longer on this earth. It’s just a little bit of a colder world. Think about it. Who is left from those days? All the greats are gone. I sure will miss all you Bob. RIP ❤❤❤❤❤
I grew up watching the Bob Newhart show I think it was one of the best shows ever He really showed that not only is there hope for a crazy world but one can keep a comical perspective to it
i grew up listening to and watching bob newhart- what a beautiful gem of a person - that you bob and say hi to all castmates - he was such a classic 🥰💕🥰💕🥰💕
His sense of humor is truly second to none. He always made me laugh. As a kid, I remember watching him on TV with my Dad and he brought tears to our eyes. He never wavered, he was always hilarious! God bless you Bob. May you rest peacefully for all eternity! And thank you for the memories. ❤️🙏🏻❤️
His deadpan character and delivery was beyond most comedic actors. On the BOB NEWHART SHOW i always looked forward to his character being barraged by the regulars on the series. Comedy tv gold.
Oh, my goodness bob, how much you will be missed. Every time I think of you, I think of my dad and his brothers. My uncles always converged on our house at least twice a year. They are scattered all over the country. One of the last things that I did for them prior to their next visit was to make a video of the funniest skits of Bob Newhart in anticipation of their next visit to see my Dad. Little did we know that my Dad would not being an attendee. They came home for his funeral instead. Anyway, after all the funeral activities were completed all our relatives came to my parents' home to celebrate the man that my dad was. We made a tape of him and all his family to view after the services were all daid and done. After that was over, I debated whether or not to play my recording. Well, I did so, and the house was booming with laughter. After it was over it was filled with us all crying. I miss my dad so much to this day. But bringing laughter into his house after was the one thing my dad would have loved. Sorry, this is so long. I miss you so much, daddy. Thank you, Mr. Newhart, for all your wonderful years of laughter. You were one of a kind and will surely be missed by millions. My condolences to his family.
I saw Bob live in Vegas when he was doing the Butros Butros Gali joke. The parents are deciding the middle name and the mom says, "I've always been partial to the name Butros." You had to be there.
I have listened to most of his sketches many times and I never get tired of hearing them again. My favourite was introducing tobacco to civilization. RIP Bob.
Professor Proton taught me about Bob Newhart. Best character. And so much better than that ridiculous krusty the clown that he got roped into giving the eulogy for
I LOVED all of bobs shows and tv appearances but the last time i saw in person was at carnagie halll in New York and i was very disappointed , i am sorry to have to say this
In the Abe Lincoln routine here, did he skip the lines that go: “Abe, you changed ‘four score and seven’ to ‘eighty-seven?’ Abe, why do you change the speeches? That was meant to be a ‘grabber,’ Abe. Yeah, we test marketed that in Toledo and the people went wild…” Did Bob leave that line out?? It was one of my favorite lines in the routine!
WTF. What Sino mocking? The 30 seconds he pretends to start a driving lesson with a Chinese driver? He makes a nonsense statement in faux “Chinese”. Hardly mocking and as far as overall material is probably less that 1% of the running time. Grow up and thicken your skin.

My husband loved this man dearly, this is making him feel a little better after losing his favourite comedian ❤
Don't remember Bob talking about God a whole bunch.
The best of clean comedy. RIP Bob!
I'm so glad that I shared some of the same time in history as Mr. Newhart.
I was a fan from the first album.
RIP
Me too.

Sure did love him and oh how I miss his dry wit and sense of humor!!❤❤❤
As was said with the recent passing of Donald Sutherland...he did what he loved, and he loved what he did! R.I.P. Professor Proton!!
Professor Proton to Leanord, Is your girlfriend goling to be there?
Rest in peace to one of the greatest comedians to ever do it
He was the only one who could have delivered his lines like did. He was so deadpan, it was hysterical.
This is wonderful. Thank you for posting. Rest in Peace, Bob. We loved you.

That’s great! Saw he directed it and wondered if it was the same. Thanks for the info!
I have had more laughs with Bob Newhart in my life than any other comedian.

Bob will aways be him and i will miss him. the ending to Newhart is so rememberable. RIP
Nobody expected that ending and I must say it was pure genius. And we must pay tribute to Suzanne Pleshette for her part in the series ender.

Love that you still have his albums! So great to listen to the vinyl and then see him bring it back in a special. Thanks for sharing your memories ❤️
This is incredibly funny. A real treasure from a good man.
Bob Newhart is a comedy treasure. I'll miss him.
I remember him from Ed Sullivan. Always wore a great smile, left us with one and will keep one in our hearts. In a class of his own!

This is so poignant. I will miss him and all the best comedians of the 20th century.
As a school kid living in Ft. Sheridan, everybody loved our Army bus driver Mr. Strickland. What a great guy.

I can almost recite many of Bob's hilarious routines but I love hearing him do these routines. Each is hilarious.

Bob Newhart was the gentlest comedian and Don Rickles was the most aggressive. They were the best of friends. Proves the opposites attract.
God bless Bob Newhart. We just don't make people like him anymore.

But could do without the Sino mocking. I guess that's what happens when the nation is built on the backs of exploited workers.
