Just looked up his bio - he was raised by a single mum and probably wasn't the most confident kid. Yet he had an excellent NBA career, ending up becoming a 7-time all-star, helped made Atlanta Hawks good again since the Nique era and was the no.1 star of the team. Made millions of dollars, stayed out of all trouble by being down-to-earth, quiet and humble, never had trouble with anyone and avoided media circuses. Wasn't the most gifted player but worked hard and find a niche in his game. Not a loud talking alpha male type leader like Paul Pierce said but definitely a role model as someone who worked hard and made smart decisions and defied all odds to succeed in life.

Iso Joe is one of the most underrated players during his prime mainly because he was a relatively quiet guy who doesn't get too much attention but also got criticized not only for his playstyle and whenever his team lost. He almost got credited with a ring in 2022 for Boston but alas Golden State got the best of them.

They had a beast bench too, with Andre Blatch, Livingston, Kirlenko, Anderson.
Jason Kidd was not the right coach though.

Will never forget a 26 year old Joe Johnson on the 04-05 Sun’s. That was my team growing up. I’ve been a sun’s fan my entire life. They were so fun to watch. With Steve Nash, Shawn Marion, Quentin Richardson, Amare Stoudamire, Leandro Barbosa. That team was stacked. A shame they never won a championship though. With all that talent you’d think that they would’ve won one. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case.

He's one of those guys thats right on the line to be in the Hall of Fame... A solid player who jumped around the league and just never situated himself with quite the right teammates to win a Championship.... If he was the 2nd or 3rd scoring option on a top 5 defensive team he'd very likely have a ring.
