The ISU-152 got a pretty big buff in cost and the 3rd Guards Tank Corps also got more added to the division. This combination has made the 3rd Guards Tank potentially one of the best team game divisions, matching the 97th Guards.

Those Saperi proved the value of overwhelming firepower
What is the best German division for team games in your mind, vulcan?
10 VS 10 IS EPIC ITS LIKE THE GAME GIVE ME GREAT OLD VIBE LIKE DAWN OF WAR GAME 2008??
10:40 you should have a command Sherman with your IS. That way vetrancy is more Arty resistant.
Love the video Vulcan keep up the work!
Thanks, will do!
Sry about those su76ms, that's a bit trolling I admit XD
Though Im surprised that counter arty actually missed so far and collateraled that commander on first shot lol
Hey Vulcan. How many FPS do you have on 10 vs 10 Games? And do you play with maximum, very high, high or medium graphic settings? Thx for the answer
I don't know exactly but I play on maximum graphics and it's smooth.
The off-map was getting kind of ridiculous there! I'm not sure how I feel about it, if it helps the game or hurts it.
why i cant find 3-rd Gv. Tankoviy Korpus?
Pre order division that has it's own DLC.
I want to join the Multiplayer scene, but i know im not good enough and i dont want to F up for the poor bastards that get on my team.. so my question is, where can i join friendly games with some coaching?
SD Bootcamp discord is your best bet. It is made to help newbies get into the game.
现在ISU终于打不穿了?
why would they buff a unit that is already OP. Who makes these stupid decisions.
Same people who sledgehammer-nerf 9 soviet divisions because 1 of them was overperforming (referring to 152mm off-map cost increase by 50pts)
ISu-152 has same HE damage as Grille but the reload is 2x longer, stealth and optics are lower, cost is 2x higher, availability is 2-3x lower and fewer divisions can use it.
Similar in armor, penetration and cost to Tiger. One-shot capability is counterweighted by low accuracy. Takes more valuable support slot and availability is 1.5x lower. And there are way more tools in Axis arsenal to deal with it than tools to deal with a Tiger in soviet arsenal.
So, it's a strong unit but definitely not overpowered. "Just flank it"(tm)
@@vantuz8264 You can't really compare the ISU-152 to the Grille though.
The Grille has paper-thin armour, while the ISU-152 can take a pak43 to the face and shrug it off. It'd be more fair to compare it to a Stuh or maybe even a Sturmtiger, and then the numbers even up better.
And that means you use the ISU-152 and the Grille differently as well. The Grille is a micro-intensive shoot-and-scoot HE support weapon (or at least, should be used as such). Meanwhile you can anchor your defence on an ISU-152, and just about forget about it while it locks down a sector, even against medium armour (in a push). Different horses for courses, I say.
I agree though that it's definitely not OP; it's a strong unit, and with these changes, more-or-less where it should be now.
@@BarthCrane Both Grille and ISu-152 are for 2km HE support, so i think it's pretty fair to compare them. Even 1 Grille is better at that role than ISu-152 for half the cost.
Grille's paper armor would indeed be a serious drawback if medium guns (ZiS-3 for example) could shoot AP at 2km. But they can't. And heavy guns can equally counter both Grille and ISu-152. Pak43 you mentioned has 99% probability to penetrate ISu-152 at max range (165pen vs 125 armor), so it can "take a hit" only by the merit of HP system. Panther has 72%. Grille is indeed weak at mid range and against arty (if RNGods are on your side).
STUH-42 is a 70pt unit that also has higher HE output than ISu-152 (4.1*6rpm=24.6 compared to 7.6*3rpm=22.8). It has good armor for the cost and HEAT to deal with light/medium tanks if needed. Medium stealth as well.
ISu-152's advantage is that it brings heavy AT in addition to HE. It's better to deal with mixed infantry/heavy armor but weaker against mass infantry and very weak against light tank spam. Was it OP before the buff. No. Was the price buff necessary? Don't think so but it's very welcome because it slightly improves heavy AT capabilities of USSR. Something they're very short on in SD2. Although i would prefer buff to availability to match Tiger's.
Sturmtiger has 175 armor, so it's pretty much impossible to kill at max range by any soviet gun, even IS-2's. It's a "unicorn" so let's not discuss it too much.
It was a decent unit with extremely and unwarranted low availability and couldnt keep up with nazi decks
