- AMA West Hare Scramble RD2. This race started off wet and with no dry weather in sight it became a mudder. With almost getting the holeshot I was third to enter the woods. Was 4th the whole race. Things were pretty sloppy by lap 3. This is the first lap.

Sweet video man! I'm the guy in the row ahead of you just to your left on the KTM with the orange helmet and black jacket on. This was the first race in this series I'd ever done so I didn't know about the "nothing attached to your helmet" rule and I didn't bring my chest mount that day so I couldnt record anything unfortunately.
Oh bummer you couldn’t get any video. It was a fun race.
Yeah anything that the AMA sanctioned events, there no videos from the helmet. Just to be clear. If you need to show an AMA card then no video from the helmet.
Well I hope you did well. I just knocked myself out of the other events in my last video. If you watched that video you will know why. Lol. Be safe and have fun.

I had one mishap early in the first lap where I came together with another bike and ended up going down and losing my front number plate but after that I managed a smooth ride and ended up winning the Vet class! My brother, dad and I came down from WA so I think the weather and conditions played a bit in our favor compared to what a lot of guys might be used to haha.

Yeah I was hoping for some dry weather. I’ve never been there when it was dry. Lol. Finished 4th. But I had a good time.
Nice work, sorry 0:52 missed it. To wet for me to get motivated enough to go up the hill. Glad you got some seat time in at the peak finally.
Haha. I don’t blame you for not going. It was a mess. Almost got the holeshot. It was getting tough on the third lap. Fatigue was setting in. The bike tried to leave me behind 3 times. Lol. Those up hills were tore up. Ended up 4th. 🤷🏻♂️

Yeah it got a little nasty about the third lap. I was all over the place. Getting crossed up in ruts. Bike tried to leave without me a couple times. Lol. It was fun. You got a good start too.
@@1Rustychainyeah I was right behind you heading into the woods but then it went downhill from there. Ended up partially tearing my right hamstring so had to pull off about 3-4 miles in on the first lap.
@@Oregon86Silverado_12v oh that’s a bummer. It’s no fun getting hurt. I’m just coming off rotator cuff surgery from last year. Was off the bike for 6 months. Before that it was knee surgery. Year before that broke 7 ribs. I just want to make it thru this year healthy lol. 🤷🏻♂️Well hopefully you will be back soon.

@@Oregon86Silverado_12v Good deal. Let’s hope so. As far as I know I’ll be stopping there and then down to Shasta ski resort for the west hare scrambles there. I grew up in Roseburg and I rode at Clark’s Branch in High School so it’s kinda special to me even if it’s just the rock pit. Hope everything goes well.

Yeah it was a mudder for sure. The only times I have been there it has rained the night before. Sucked. I was hoping it was going hold off. Those up hills were getting pretty bad later in the race. Hope you made it ok.
I managed to get 2nd in c vet despite the pretty bad start. I had fun despite the conditions.
@@logantwebber Well that’s great. I was in fourth after the first lap. And finished 4th. I went down about 4 times in the last lap just from mistakes. Getting tired. Well great ride and see you at the next one.
I was in my element with the mud & rain. I had an excellent race!

@@TylerN737sWell nice riding there. We pretty much broke it in for you. I’m not much for the mudder stuff. But I was happy just to finish. I was running out of gas by lap 3. Glad that’s all I had to do. I wound up 4th.

Hey well thanks. I couldn’t hold the lead I had. But ended up 4th anyway. Those muddy hills were fun ah? Lol. Man I was hoping for dryer weather. So I have been watching most of your videos. Nice videos. I think I met you about a year ago but wasn’t sure. I hope you had fun at the race. It was a challenge for sure.

@@Brandon-dd8dw I thought it was you. I tried to park next to you the next morning. I had to put the truck 4wheel just to get around. So I went to another spot. How did you do? Did you have fun. I know I did. Sucky ass weather. Lol.
Did you have to pit for gas at all? And if so what’s the procedure?
If I need to go one more lap, then yes I would have needed to pit. I came in 4th but was on the same lap as the leader in a 90 minute race that actually took 2:20 minutes to complete. I have never ran out of fuel in a 90 race yet. Wether fry or wet.
Not much for procedure. Just stay 5 mph thru the pit area. Some places require a fuel mat. Someone can help you if you need to. Fuel the bike, get goggles or whatever you need and then head back out.
Open C here, you probably passed me at some point with my crashes. How did you end up doing? I was content to just finish it around mile 5.
Haha I hear that. When I saw mile three I said I have a long way to go. I was able to get three laps in and finished 4th. I hate the mud. I think I went down 4 times in the last lap.
