So didn't hurt to use Spalted maple for a cutting board. Thank you.

I probably wouldn’t use heavily spalted maple, but these boards turned out fine 👍🏻

How long did it take you to make all of the boards from start to finish?

The batch of boards took maybe a week or so. I rarely focus an entire day just on one thing and have multiplied projects going at once, so they likely could’ve been finished quicker 👍🏻

Beautiful boards! Did you do anything to stabilize the spalting or will it be fine?

Thanks! The spalting on these was in the very early stages. As the slab was kiln dried, my understanding is that the spalting should not progress further. There was no difference in the hardness or ‘feel’ of the wood whatsoever between the spalting and non-spalted portions 👍🏻

you should never use spalted wood for cutting boards. Fungus is bad
