He's very beautiful. I'm really jealous. I've gotta ask though. I've heard that your not supposed to handle or pick em up for a week? Is that true? (I have no knowledge on reptile pets)
@@sethpierce1477 Yes, the standard recommendation is to handle bearded dragons sparingly for the first 1-2 weeks to allow them to adjust to the new environment and shake off their relocation stress. It's best to handle them only as needed for feeding and cleaning, then otherwise leave them be. But it is a good idea to spend time around their tank, just hanging out and doing normal things, so they learn that you're not a threat. After the first few weeks they will become more curious and allow you to handle them without getting stressed out.

True. The folks at Atomic Lizard Ranch probably chose this packaging as a compromise between giving enough room to breath, but snug enough so that he wouldn't be jostled around too much during shipping. He arrived safe and healthy, so it seems like it worked alright :)

Awesome! I can’t wait for mine to get big, he is 10 inches long. When we got him, on July 5th, PetCo said that he was 4-6 months old, but he was the size of a 3 Month old. So, I’m not sure how old he is ☹️
Cute little dragon. I'm new to them but I figured out how to get them to drink. Use a dropper or even a peice of veggie to place a drop of water on the tip of his nose. He'll lick it, figure out he likes it and look for more. I got him for the kids, I'm more of a monitor guy. I've been reading and watching videos. They are more work than a baby monitor. My monitor drank on his own, ate on his own, bathed on his own from day one. Our baby dragon is like having a human infant. Make sure he eats, make sure he drinks, give him a warm bath. It's all good, he's a super cute, curious about everything. He'll sit on my hand real nice. When my monitor was a baby, he wanted to fight half the time.
You did a great job unboxing him, and these people should not hate on you for working slowly, and making sure that he's okay. When you noticed he raised his tail, it's because he's exploring, getting a feel of the place, he's just alert, and knows you're there. Something that I would recommend doing when handling a dragon for it's first time with you (new dragon) is washing your hands with warm-hot water, and a big thing that I noticed that you didn't do, is petting his chin. When you pet their chin, it gives them a chance to do a mlem (lick) and get a feel for what you are, and for some reason, it makes them feel safe a lot of the time (because they could "overpower" your finger, since it's under them, I guess) Anyway, that's it, and he's very pretty and I wish you guys well with raising him.
He is the absolute cutest little guy. Your tank set up is Beautiful. I didn't know they packaged them like that, being able to breathe, and in all that paper in a little bag. The little guy looks like he's a little frazzled , after being shipped. He will love his new home.

Very cute. Mine just passed away. At about 6 years old; I thought I did everything to keep him happy and healthy. I would like to get another one, especially after viewing videos like yours, but not until I figure out what I did wrong. Enjoy!
You're lucky hes very chill. Mine jumped out of my hand as soon as I let him out the packaging. I had to chase him around the house so he doesnt get lost or hurt.
What a beautiful baby and a very nice set up for his 'cage' I wouldn't mind living in the same thing but macro sized! You did a great job and were patient on getting him out of the bag. Once he was in your hand he seemed pretty relaxed for just arriving. May you have many years with your sweet dragon.
I have a bearded dragon the same colour about 8-10 months old and when yours was in the bottom of the bag, the position it was in was lying in meant that it was unhappy and when it was on your hand it was agitated as its tail was curved in the air, same as when he was in the box. Hope all goes well for u all. Locusts and fresh rocket is really good for beardy's and if you use a syringe to try and give it some water then that's great.
I was really skeptical of it at first too, but then I learned it is actually quite common for reptiles. His journey in the mail took about 16 hours, and although he was a bit shaken up, he made it safely and was behaving normally within 48 hours of his arrival!
If you plan on getting one make sure you do lots of research bearded dragons aren’t for everyone, because everyone can’t provide the necessary resources for them.
I have one of my own, who is about 3 1/2-4 and he is the joy of my life. I love him so much and it pains me to see these people get these creatures and just leave them in the cold and don’t feed them. But you are being so gentle with it and i’m so so so glad that the beardie will have a nice home with you i’m sure you’ll make an amazing beardie parent!!!
Anyone that says the unboxing was to long has no patience and should not get a bearded dragon you a patient and responsible kid you were careful and responsible with the knife as well You should be proud of yourself enjoy your new family member
It's possible that his colors will fade a bit to be less bright over time, but he'll still be mostly tangerine. Interestingly he does get some pretty purple patterns on his back & tail when he's out in the sun - check that out in newer videos!
Meet Marmaduke mine was orange line that and around 7-8 months he lost all his orange I trued everything I could think of to make it come back but with every shed less and less came back I miss the orange color
This is CZcams, people will find any reason to complain. I love the constructive feedback and tips in the comments, but pointless complaints really do get old.
He looks so healthy! I see lots of baby bearded dragons with so many physical problems but he looks in such good shape! Treat him well and congrats on ur new dragon baby
My daughter has a bearded dragon too. He's 2 years old. She was also very picky about where to buy one from. We're lucky that's there's a good reptile store in our area. She got him from there.
Rush Snipez There is no "fancy" bearded dragon, big pet companies like petco and petsmart just take the best looking one, or with a unique morph, and label it as fancy. They make the price higher, though, and the word fancy will catch many customer's attention.
I am picking my Two beardies tomorrow due to Petsmart FAIL. They were co-habing with preadults. They are coming at no charge after educating the Store Employees that you cannot co-hab and they were eating the loose substrate. The two are ready to come home in their SEPARATE tanks completely stocked. Now the healing begins!
PS. Due to the co-habitating, they were seeing each other as Food and nibbling the toes off of each other. One has No toes on a back foot and the other has one toe remaining. I already have a handicap from a previous owner that died and the baby was dropped and has paralysis on the back right leg, however is doing wonderful these days.
I was just about to talk about the packaging but read the description thanks for clearing that up, just wanted to make sure he was sent with care and know I now he was, thanks
ok I live in the hood of Chicago and I always wanted a bearded dragon but there isn't really a good pet store around here can somebody Help me find one please!!!!
There are numerous reputable online breeders who will ship babies to your home. I would caution against buying a bearded dragon from a pet store chain, as they usually cannot provide information about their breeders and don't have expertise on reptiles. I got my baby from Atomic Lizard Ranch: atomiclizardranch.net/bearded-dragons-for-sale/ Also, I hear that a lot of people try to re-home their bearded dragons via Craigslist when they can no longer care for them, so that would be a good place to check as well! You'd probably get their whole setup too (tank, lights, etc.)
I'd say Craiglist itself is a pretty safe and reliable website. If you're worried about meeting weirdos, you may want to bring a friend with you and ask the owner to meet you just outside of the house first, then you can go inside if you get good vibes. The standard advice is to meet Craiglist sellers at a safe public location (like a library), but that would be hard to do with a reptile!
To All: Before you consider posting another complaint about the packaging or how slow I took him out... READ THE DESCRIPTION! Thanks ❤🦎❤

xZonexFramex awww 🥰😁❤️
Serena L mine is called zilly
My teacher had a bearded dragon. One time we saw a cricket by the sink and fed it to him
I hope for the beardie it wasn't carrying a disease. Don't take em from the wild~
Cool that your teacher had one tho, that's amazing!
Ditching the bird idea, bearded dragons are now my new dream pet lol
You're lucky hes very chill. Mine jumped out of my hand as soon as I let him out the packaging. I had to chase him around the house so he doesnt get lost or hurt.
I was showing this video to my beardie and he got scared.
Nice
My leopard gecko thinks I’m ugly and therefore won’t watch anything with me. 😂
@@k.c4178 I- 💀💀💀
@@marij5509 i often have to think about what he sees when my face is all up on the tank, and I don’t blame him for hiding. I be like ⚫️👄⚫️
@@k.c4178 I’m late. But how is owning a Leopard Gecko? Is it easy?
Beautiful bearded dragon.
Thanks, I quite agree!
Bel biv devoe,
I have bearded dragon, called Neeko
What a beautiful baby and a very nice set up for his 'cage' I wouldn't mind living in the same thing but macro sized! You did a great job and were patient on getting him out of the bag. Once he was in your hand he seemed pretty relaxed for just arriving. May you have many years with your sweet dragon.
Thanks so much!!
The way she umpacked it was rlly processional I love
I have a bearded dragon the same colour about 8-10 months old and when yours was in the bottom of the bag, the position it was in was lying in meant that it was unhappy and when it was on your hand it was agitated as its tail was curved in the air, same as when he was in the box. Hope all goes well for u all. Locusts and fresh rocket is really good for beardy's and if you use a syringe to try and give it some water then that's great.
Yep, he was in shock from just being shipped in a box. Within 48 hours he was behaving normally and he's perfectly fine now.
Yep great to hear hope all goes well.
An animal in a box ??!?! 😱
I was really skeptical of it at first too, but then I learned it is actually quite common for reptiles. His journey in the mail took about 16 hours, and although he was a bit shaken up, he made it safely and was behaving normally within 48 hours of his arrival!
Dreamz 32 well that how you package it.Whatd you expect.I brought many reptiles and they are fine with this packaging
UG Ayato okay thanks i don't know many things about reptile so, thank you !
Dreamz 32 that’s not right for lizard don’t have a container just in a bag
RiftYy Y then how they gonna deliver it to you or pet stores????
So cute how it doesnt run away from u just chillin like a boss
Sadly in march 2022 it ran away to heaven
Finally someone who doesn't jostle and spin the box around like there isn't a scared animal inside!
This just makes me want one so much.
If you plan on getting one make sure you do lots of research bearded dragons aren’t for everyone, because everyone can’t provide the necessary resources for them.
He's so butiful he's so orange he is so bright OMG SO CUTE
Getting a cute lil' Beardie in June! I can't wait!! (I might think of using Atomic Lizard Ranch!)

Hey little one u look so cute
thanks

Anyone that says the unboxing was to long has no patience and should not get a bearded dragon you a patient and responsible kid you were careful and responsible with the knife as well You should be proud of yourself enjoy your new family member
Yes you are right I just hate these impatient spoiled brats who got bearded dragons without research
I miss when my dragon was this small, they grow up so quickly!
Oh my god I forgot how small they were😍
Do they change color over time ? Or they stay the color they are when they are born?.
Mine started off grey and now he is a mix of orange, brown black, and white. And his eyes are this cool Sith Lord orange color
Such a beautiful little Baby beardie, take care of him well!
Your enclosure is so creative and cool! I think you did a good job with him :)
Hah! We just got a citrus leatherback male and orange female from Atomic! Collette is the BEST!
Their names are Dragon and Sweet.
Cool! Yeah I am super happy with Atomic Lizard Ranch :)
Cynthia Frasier I bet that is beautiful i got the same breed but she has some snow in her so she is like a orange an grey ish tan stripe
Cynthia Frasier I got a fancy leatherback, his name is Banana!
Hey why are there so many haters doesn't it get old?
This is CZcams, people will find any reason to complain. I love the constructive feedback and tips in the comments, but pointless complaints really do get old.
Meet Marmaduke I'm sorry you have to deal with that
Meet Marmaduke your lizard is very interesting 😊😊
Bro he was foreal just chilling in the bag
I love how gentle you were with it 🥺
Damn if I'm bringing roaches into my house.
Hi! I’m wondering where you got the floor for your terrarium? I LOVE it.
He’s a beauty. Love his colors.
Agreed!
Makes my heart melt
Me too :)

Finally another person who has a beardie as their Profile Picture.
Well yeah, he's the whole point of this channel 👍
@@MeetMarmaduke 😌👌 A good channel.
@@yeahboi2684 Thank you! 🦎
Looks like Marmaduke and the camera are having a Staring contest haha
this is the exact size of my beardie. just gave him his first bath today he absolutely took a huge defecation... still love him XD
Pooping in the bath is actually a great way to get them potty trained!!
This reminds me whene my Bearded Dragon was little
Aww, the little beardie is so cute and has very pretty colors! Have fun with your little friend!
That lizard is cool as hell man, just vibin'
It's a fancy bearded dragon
Rush Snipez There is no "fancy" bearded dragon, big pet companies like petco and petsmart just take the best looking one, or with a unique morph, and label it as fancy. They make the price higher, though, and the word fancy will catch many customer's attention.
Ryan K Win mine is a fancy beardie and she was free lol
Huski3 Pup nice
Lizard looks traumatized from being in that box
This is not an unboxing this is a HOW TO HANDLE A BABY BEARDED DRAGON TUTORIAL.
ok I live in the hood of Chicago and I always wanted a bearded dragon but there isn't really a good pet store around here can somebody Help me find one please!!!!
@@MeetMarmaduke I've never used Craigslist before, can I trust it?
I'm thinking about getting a bearded dragon, but not sure where to get one.
