- Something a little different! Out with the 1/18 scale La Trax Teton trying a brushless system! Running 2s power she's definitely a beast! Added an upgraded Hot Racing steel 54 tooth spur, 14 tooth pinion and HR steel driveshafts! Running a Gool rc 4800kv motor and Arrma blx 100 amp ESC. For such a tiny truck, it definitely had me laughing!

You tend to make a video, at the same time I decide to bring back out my Teton. I have a Mamba Micro ESC connected to a 5300 Castle 5300 0808 motor, plus all of the necessary Hot Racing, extras.
I'm going to try your trick with widening the stance.
I'm going to razzle dazzle this one, though. I want one body done up with lights, but I'm going to want another body for bashing.
It's been so long since I first upgraded this thing that I forgot what pinion gear I have in it. I even bought TBR gear for it, way back when.
Like you, I bought two, but I haven't taken that one out of the box yet.
Attention all Teton owners. The charger must be removed from the outlet very carefully it comes apart and you will rip the inside cords. Put a rubber band around it and unplug it with your fingers touching the outlet

😂. What a blast! Did the same thing. Bought one for my kids, ended up building one for myself lol! If you find a solution for the diffs let us know! It’s the one issue with those things. Now you need to do an xl version with the short course chassis.
Works great with the 2 sizes shims
If you cam source them the rc18t diffs are supposed to fit and be way better quality. Otherwise shim them well and pray lol. I blow them out on my sst all the time even being shimmed out. Really cheap metal. Ebay has some gpm spools with steel gears I believe also on 2nd thought.

I’m redoing our Teton this weekend with 14-54, all steel pimped, shims, and castle micro x2, 3s and 5300kv, also bigger 3.2inch wheels, I should hit 105+km/h.
I ordered one of these today. going to run it brushless on 3s :P I'm surprised by your video that it handles so well. Something to look forward to. So i upgraded to a 6600kv brushless motor, i set the ESC to the smoothest possible accelleration and breaking. since my tire glue had dried up i put on 1/10 onroad slicks. i took the car out. hit the throttle and the car wouldnt go straight at all. the diffs were ok but it just decided to go heavy left or right from losing grip i guess. a few seconds later two of the pushrods or what they are called got torn off from the diff-cases. i didnt even get to drive in a straight line yet. and i see you jumping yours and such. so im waiting for aluminium diff-cases now, looking forward to see what breaks next time i hit the throttle. this is a fragile little thing.

Sweet video!! I have a question I’m doing similar upgrades to my latrax. I’m putting a 2445 3600kv with a 54t spur and 16t pinion. It’s only going to be 2s and was thinking which motor would perform better 5400kv or the 3600kv.
I got one for my son. I've built it with all metal parts now but I keep wearing out the slotted diff ends due to the play the axles have (stock or upgraded) I have a brushless system on it also but can't really find a good set of shocks for it yet.
I have a pretty cool mini erevo build going on where I have modded everything but the motor, esc. Any advice on a brushless system combo I can put in this to run either 2 2s for 4 or 3s and what batteries I should try. I've been looking for a couple months but I'm a newbie and not exactly sure how the kv and motor specs actually mean. Please someone help me! Lol. This build is awesome. I live in a townhouse so the 1/16 scale is perfect to run at home

My buddy did this with the 1/16th erevo power system. The 380 motor. Tight fit but it does fit. Runs it on 3s with jb welded diffs. it’s a rocket

How do you keep your differentials together bro my differentials keeps stripping out.. the 20 dollars a set metal ones strip out after 45 mins
Did you do anything with the differential gears. I went brushless shredded the gears. So I used epoxy no more slipping but snapped the drive cups now. It is definitely a blast !! Any suggestions I want to bash mine like you are.

Well, if you love the Teton, check out the LC Racing EMB-T 1/14th. It is like a mini kraton but it has no center diff. LC racing is a racing brand that the all the WLTOYS are based on, but LC racing has better parts and build. Check LC racing line up out. You'll fall in love.

1/18 are fun little trucks, you should get the wltoys a979b, i think you'd have a blast, upgrade the shocks to adjustable oil-filled for about 20 and its a beast, stock they do i think it was 37mph

It's a small soft pack. Fits in there snug with no need for the battery top lock down.

@@RCDUDE81 Hell yeah! Thing takes a beating. But have had slight issues with rear drive shafts. I solved the issue with your method using the Mojave shaft in the rear center but the axles just seems a little too small. I'd hope if M2C would come out with a solution. Besides that Thanks for Your time man really appreciate it keep up the content! 🤙

I have run Castle and do in my Typhon V4 but I just personally like Hobbystar motors bc of the price and I've simply had better luck with Hobbywing products over Castle.

Not much other than a tad more torque. Both great motors! My HW 1100 has been in 3 different rigs and still going after about 3 years!

Not bad but mine is faster, I got a castle mamba micro system in mine and a 3s pack from gens ace , it rips and the pack fits in the car perfectly , nice job tho man u got urs jumping nice
I am always replacing outdrives and diffs cannot understand why... I garrantee mines faster i have bigger tires 35amp esc 7200kv motor and high gears.
Yeah I recommend HR steel outdrives and shim the diffs! I was still surprised the hammering this little guy took!🤣
@@RCDUDE81 I do love the Teton its a great basher. Yeah i had to upgrade everything and added shims... I am going to try a 1500mah battery and take out the 2000mah to try to save some wieght maybe that will help. Great videos dude!

Well I basically just glued an extra plastic hex onto the existing one. Just file off the ridges. Worked great!
