    Got the bgv1s as my first pair of proper gloves my old pair was cheap, feels nice to have a good pair of gloves that smell like heaven haha, I can definitely tell the padding difference but with wraps it’s chill

  • @Diebold410
    @Diebold410 Před 3 lety +9

    I think for me the bgv1 is what I’d look for in a bag glove since I use a lot of knuckle protection in my wrap anyway. The bgv19 looks more along the lines of what I’d go for in a sparring glove.

      We're they big enough when wearing with wraps?

    • @ale2793
      @ale2793 Před 5 měsíci

      Id say so yes, initially its tight but once you have ‘worn it in’ the leather will loosen slightly.
      Bear in mind though, this is a fitted glove. But like I say, after it has been used/broken in a few times you should be fine with a thin wrap.

    Do you prefer fairtex bgv19 over a twins bgvl 3 glove? Because now I have the twins bgvl3 and have the idea that the finger compartment maybe a little too small for me. Im 186 cm and 101 kg. I like the padding for sparring but my only con is the finger compartment. You think the fairtex is better?

      Its not the worlds best Big Guy glove. Fairtex make SMALL size gloves. this is an improvement on BGV1 but if you're a big guy I'd use RAJA, REVGEAR (THAI MADE VERSION) or maybe even a none thai glove like our friends at Union. I nearly broke my left hand boxing for a year in BGV1

    I do not get the critism for BGV-1 I am a little bigger than you 1.94 and around 110 kilos and the bgv-1v was really protective for me and comfy. Granted I do Muay thai and sparring is never 100%like most of the gyms in boxing do but I never injured anyone and sometimes a punch might have slipped and went 100%

    now just I got a set of discount BGV1 tight fits, you're spot on about the light padding, I wouldn't spar more than eh.. 50% with these. Compared to my Rivals and Boons, it's not so nice hitting your teammates. That being said, a month ago when I was at the Fairtex booth, they had these new model of softer, sparring only gloves, but I don't think they're on the website yet.

    How do you rate Boons boxing gloves and are the Twins the gold standard for boxing?

    • @FSPRO
      @FSPRO  Před 3 lety +6

      Boon gloves are excellent and an interesting blend between a Thai glove and boxing. They are too stiff generally for most actual boxers but for Muay Thai a great glove. No I definitely do not think Twins are a gold standard for boxing. They are the quintessential Muay Thai glove but are definitely not a great boxers glove. Too tight and padding in the wrong place for boxers.

    I totally agree about the shitty padding of the BGV-1. I had them as my first gloves, they lasted forever. I switched to Twins tho. I'm about 100 kg and prefer a bulky glove with a thick layer of padding or else my knuckles will be toasted after a hard session. I do think fairtex quality is one of the best.
