Jay, this is so amazing that it truly made me cry. I could feel your affection and longing for your son. I was raised without my biological father due to a dysfunctional family, but we were reunited after my mother passed away. I understand that my mom's emotional pain from what he did prevented her from moving past it, which is why she kind of kept me away from him, but she always tells me that he is still your father and that you should fulfill your duty as his daughter if you are needed someday or if no one else is going to take care of him when he gets older. I personally, don't have any grudges toward my father. I am pretty receptive to the ways in which a situation like this came to pass because life occasionally takes unexpected turns. I can understand both my mom and my dad's feelings, even my stepdad's. Therefore, Jay, never give up; just make an effort to stay in touch with your son and your ex-wife, regardless of how many times you're unwelcomed.Your son will undoubtedly appreciate you being around when he gets older and can think for himself.
