      @Maurice Ray we're talking of a striker, goals matter and we can ignore that. With Juventus he only scored 26 goals in 90 games, in Inter he improved a lot in this aspect and he became a complete and better forward. Zlatan career has been better after he turned 30 than before, he might have lose something in pace and dribbling, but he also became better at scoring at and creating chances. For me he was on his prime the last year of his first Milan experience and in PSG. He has always been a beast tho, never seen an attacker scoring like him at 40 yo

    What makes Zlatan great is his combination of strength and technique, while also being one of the most mentally tough players in the game. He definitely has that mamba mentality so Kobe is actually a good comp, that said kobe is a 5 time champ and Zlatan unfortunately never won the Champions League (although winning plenty of domestic titles in different countries)

  • @Chilango16510
    @Chilango16510 Před 2 lety +6

    Zlatan may not be a Kobe in terms of style of play. But Zlatan embodied mamba mentality. The man came from the country of Sweden where footballers are okay. He played in Italy, spain, France, Netherlands. In those four countries he played with 6 different teams. Each team he won the league title with. Meaning every team he played for he won a league title. The only exception to that was when he came to the US and played in the MLS for the Galaxy. In 2 years he couldn’t get the league title. Two other of his short comings were winning the champions league (the European knock out tournament our March madness) and his country of Sweden was never close enough for him to win a World Cup. Regardless, Zlatan or IBRA is one of the most iconic players in soccer, hard to love him for his antics, hard to hate him for his talent

  • @jacksmith4460
    @jacksmith4460 Před 2 lety +47

    Zlatan is what is sometimes called a "Battering Ram" or "Big Man" center Forward, which is like Football's version of a BasketBall Power Forward.
    "Big Man" Forwards:
    They are usually very strong, good in the air, great at heading,perfect to play long balls up to and hold up the ball so faster players can run off them and receive return passes, and they also must be good at scoring. The great ones can play with back to goal and the defender and turn quickly and get powerful shots off. Its one of the hardest player types to defend. You cant get too close because they will just back in and pivot and either shoot or pass (a bit like in Basketball) you cant give too much space because you are inviting them to shoot, and the ones have enough power to score from range. They are strong in the air so crosses are very dangerous with a Big/Battering Ram Center Forward. They do the same thing you see basket ball big men do, they back defenders in to the box (under the rim in B-Ball) and shoot/dime a team mate in a great scoring position
    Zlatan is one of the best to ever do it. He also brings dribbling skill and flair and great touch and skill to the role, which is unusual. Great skill and touch is usually the realm of the smaller guys, so when you get a big guy doing that shit, its mad hard to stop.
    Other all time great "Battering Ram/Big Man" center Forwards
    Batistuta
    Drogba
    Lewandowski
    Van Nistlerooy
    You also get other types of Forward (Poachers, Wing forwards, False 9's, Pace Forwards). Then you get peeps like Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Etoo, Luis Ronaldo, who can basically play any of those roles to a top tier standard, Zlatan is almost in this bracket, the lack of real pace stopping him from quite making this Tier. But as a "Big Man/Battering Ram" Forward, He is exceptional, the list of names above would be his rivals for the best of that player type, but these are the best of the best, and Zlatan is right in that group

    Some say that Zlatan doesn't play for clubs, but they play for him haha. Na but really he was a huge prospect already at 18/19 playing for Ajax in Holland, a relatively 'small' league by money standards but a known league for producing quality players. He was wiping the floor with defenses regularly but there were doubts about his attitude. He was wanted by a lot of clubs around Europe but ended up choosing Italy (where arguably the most money was at the time) and played for the 3 biggest teams in that league including the 2 Milan teams that hate each other passionately. He turned out to be a world class mercenary who gives no fucks and father time hasn't stopped his output or him being a highly paid asset to this day. Will be sad to see him retire soon but ya'll should check some of his funniest moments in interviews or on TV, he's a savage.

    In my opinion Zlatan is right up there with Messi and Ronaldo but because he's controversial and has also changed clubs a good few times, he doesn't get the recognition he deserves
