appreciate the honest review, that was a good vid. i'm sure its a great shoe, but visually the v6 is just such a departure from the v3-v4 look that i love.
Yeah I can see that for sure. But I also think they needed a new design change since the v4 and v5 were so similar.
v3, 4 and 5 were the best looking, not liking the look of the v6.

I have the V5 and found then to be a bit stiff and hard. I primarily use them for fast walking, never running. Also looking at other New Balance freshfoam and fuelcell offerings.

Always brilliant reviews my dude. Keep em coming. The 990 V6 has grown on me man. And surprisingly it styles with so much.
Just one thing. In their website New Balance always list what materials were used one each shoe. On this base model leather was used but it wasn't pigskin. This is one of the things I like about New Balance. They fairly open about open about all their products. Wish more companies could be like that.
Also your video about all the 990 models was awesome.

I appreciate your honesty when it came to the v6 comfortability vs the v5. The biggest reason I was looking forward to this shoe was because I was wondering if it would be more comfortable than the v5(which is already so comfortable!).

For me the v6 are more comfy than the v5 although quality is worst
@@pattonPwrIs it? I only have one pair of v6’s and it’s the purple and pink with that pistachio color, the suede is super buttery on them and my pair is perfect, waiting on the grey with black accents to drop, those will be my second pair for sure.
Just threw these on today and they are insanely comfy. Sizing TTS. New daily drivers for sure.

The energy return will be felt when you run, for regular walking you won’t get a crazy bounce.
Toe box is great I always go a half size down because I don’t like my sneakers looking like flippers (fyi NB sneakers can run big). Okay so comfort level is good but the material towards back of shoe feels like it’s gonna let my heel slip right out the back collar of shoe. New balance usually makes a taller collar to keep your foot snug and secure in back as you walk in the shoe. I wear lots of 990v2, 990v3 and I also own the v5. I think the design uses a long thin upper tongue to form against the top of your foot to help keep secure.
With a lifestyle runner I feel like you need a shoe with a deeper fit in collar. Suede is lighter tone grey compared to previous models even though they use castle rock traditional color way. Quality of suede is is fine and thin, usually I would say suede is a bit more thick and premium. The eyelets and eyestay (holes for laces) are a bit thin to. The roll of the shoe when walking is organic and you can feel a standard thick midsole. I don’t think anyone’s feet would be hurting, overall good model but try previous versions against the v6.
I got mine in true to size 8.5 . They fit perfectly. I recommend try em on before anything

Idk about the V5s comfort wise but I have a pair of V4s. I just got these V6s and they're definitely more comfortable than my v4s.

They look like they stitched a newer model 990 upper onto one of their modern running shoe midsoles. It’s an interesting combination that results in a pretty different look. Not really interested in this colorway, but will be keeping an eye out for other ones in the future. I do wonder if perhaps the more “sporty” modern performance running shoe shape might not look quite right with a lot of the more neutral or earth tones that New Balance likes for the 990 models. It looks more suited for bolder and brighter colors IMO.

I am so torn between getting the v3 vs the v6. There are certain aesthetics I like from the v3 (more suede, that heel design). However, I dig the more modern midsole, additional reflectives and comfort of the v6. Look-wise, can’t go wrong. Just don’t know which one to pick, both in grey and same price! Would love your thoughts!

I wear sz.11 and these don't look too big imo. I think the thicker midsole makes the shoe seem bigger. Try em on see for yourself. You might feel differently about them.✌️

Yes all of my New Balance sneakers are size U.S.11. I'd say go with your normal size, but still try em on though.

That’s tough, I would stick with your v5 size since you go with a wide. These feel a tad more narrow than a v5.
I like my V5's a lot more. I find this look quite polarizing, I'm sure some people are going to love them. Also, hot take: the old people that I've seen wearing 990s are going to LOVE these. Overall tho, I can't help but think that New Balance feels threatened by Hoka and is trying to get their foot into the super chuck look game. Wish New Balance would just stay in their lane and continue to make great retro looking sneaks.
There's absolutely no reason for New Balance to be threatened by Hoka; it's literally David vs Goliath in terms of earnings. New Balance have been in the game long enough to know what works; it would take a complete turnaround for fans to jump ship. And that will never happen imo

I still don't see a good outfit we can wear the v6 with. I feel like only pants fitting the ankle, like joggers or sweatpants, would work.
For me I think anything that doesn’t have the ankle part of the pants too tight will work.
I don’t like the removal of the flag either man but at least everyone knows these are made in the USA and we should be proud of that still. especially such a quality shoe

most people are downsizing and taking the wide size because it is too narrow and long.
For me after a few wears, they’re perfect.
These shoes look like they were put out to hopefully capture the 990v3 and 993 crowds. Possibly so they can eventually discontinue production of them. I'm sure they would love to retire these old shoes.
