Good day when Rob drops a film 🎥
Yup and always cutting at the best part
Especially at this length
No content in 3 weeks tho? Maybe something BIG 🍳ing, maybe needs a Video Crew, as well as Fab Daddys!.? 🎉❤
The amount of knowledge that Rob has in that master brain of his is absolutely outstanding 🤯
Self taught also. Such a good dude. Car industry loves him.
if you go to automotive school, he is just telling you the basics lol. But what's awesome is seeing other people getting involved in automotive, thats what's amazing!
And ROB GETS A ROSE!
but he doesn't know what a mustang II is or how to pronounce windage lol..
He just goes with the flow dude..
Rob, for higher torque use the closed box end torque adapter (we call them dog bones in military aviation). They don’t suffer jaw spread like crows foot adapters. Remember to keep the adapters at 90° so the pivot point of the torque wrench doesn’t change and your reading at accurate.
My question is where did the toe go that snapped off the crows foot?
When someone from aviation comments I listen.
@@RadDadisRad 27:33 There it is.
@@nickacelvn ok, I see it on the floor. I know he wouldn’t be negligent and leave it inside the engine if it fell inside the engine. I just didn’t him acknowledge that he found it.
Literally just sat down and wondered if Rob was dropping the next video and bang! That's my evening sorted. Thanks guys! Love your work!
Evening hell I wish I could get rid of today.😂😂😂😂 I'm seriously sitting in my car right now with bolts holding my foot together and willing to walk into this Circle K to get myself a Polar Pop. I'm not having the best of days. However at the same time I hope your day is absolutely blissful and that you enjoyed this video that I'm about to watch😢
@@fatboi754 fucking hell dude that sounds rough! Wish you all the best and keep your chin up! It's never as bad as it seems if you keep going!
Same bro
@@philmcglen6194 I will make it through this and I refuse to lose. I don't care if it takes going to 11 or putting an extra 300 shot on the car I will win.
@@fatboi754 that's right dude! Give yourself a slap, play some epic music and twist life's nips till they bleed! Lol. You got this man!
Never thought I would find myself watching a restromod series on this channel, but I am absolutely LOVING it. This was a fantastic episode. Looking forward to the next one very much.
What happened to the very multiple rotored motor?
@@gregorybolton The 12 rotor? They are working on it gradually but there are lots of custom parts to design and create, and probably some sponsor deals to sort out. They are working on it in the background but Rob didn't want to milk it and post a bunch of boring videos so instead they save up footage until they know they have a banger of a video to release.
It’s really cool to see everyone in the shop completely charged up and working together! That’s certainly a memory that got shared with us the CZcams watchers.
Hope you guys are ok. Looking forward to the next drop.
11:30 something super calming and satisfying about the sound of the tacs being welded and the music playing. Like asmr
I was falling asleep at that part
34:02 It's just a feed to the coil that bypassed the ballast resistor while cranking to counter the voltage drop caused by the cranking load. It ensured a good spark while cranking.
Old coils needed ballast resistors because they boiled if they had full 12v constantly, like when ignition was on but not running.
IMPORTANT, on the wilwood spindle caps, use a leather strap (wrench) to snug them in. You don't wanna torque them in, just make sure they don't come off.
Out of all the car content on CZcams rob is the only one that keeps me engaged through the whole video.
Thanks for cranking out awesome videos.
Body kits, subframe stiffening kit, suspension kits, with any custom work or Custom kit, people rarely understand they give you a general idea of where those parts will go, and you have to custom modify them to your car to make them fit perfectly. And the more work you do, the better it looks and works. And you guys are doing an awesome job on everything y'all touched.
Very nice one guys! Seeing Rob with wiring and ECUs I really think that that is his biggest advantage over many other car builders. He understands the whole package.
100%, not many, if any go into this much detail. He literally has so much confidence with those harnesses, it’s astounding!
I just really love Rob's style of making projects happen... Even the one's that are supposed to be super fast he gets into the details...... That's true passion...
9:39 right here ,new windshield added to the list😃 good progress btw I love the series.🤙🏻
The three coolest car builds I can think of... Hoonicorn, Robs 4 rotor awd RX7, and this 🤯
So hard to pick just three...
Sickfish, Hoonigan Rolls Royce,
Mullet, Uncle Sam, Old Smokey, Cadzilla, the list is so long, and they're all so cool...
This has become my most anticipated video series to watch. Keep ‘em coming rob
Rob, buy some calibrated crimpers from T & B. Much more secure and consistent crimps. I've never done a connection without using mine, once you try it you won't go back. I do switchgear and relays and VFDs..I've never had a failure on any of my jobs in industrial applications. Does 16_18, 14-16, 10-12 gauge lugs. ERG 4001
You guys are killing it with this build. I wish you had more time to do the body right and sent through a chemical bath to get that metal sparkling clean for a perfect pain job. Other than that, great job getting that powertrain built from scratch. What you guys are doing is really amazing, all that reinforcing you were able to add to make the chassis 100% more rigid is very important considering the powertrain you’re putting in and the suspension upgrade the car is getting. Also, great job on that “D” double entendre, you had me giggling like a schoolgirl.
Please don’t dip classic cars.
while it makes the car super clean, it will lose a not insignificant amount of stiffness, and sometimes ends up with hidden corrosion spots
There are now better ways to do it, that wont hurt the car as bad
Used to have a '71. 727 slapstick, torsion bar suspension in the front and leafs in the back. 4 wheel drum brakes. Resto-mod is definitely the way to go. Sick build.
U can always go with a "hemi" hood instead of the R/T hood.
They look friggin sick too!
100% the best channel on youtube. the amount of stuff i have learned from rob, the amount of detail and work that goes into each and every video. some of the best welds and fabrication i have ever seen on any youtube builds. i’m addicted to the videos lol
You have a great team Rob, be very proud of them all. 👌🏻
Amen to that!
Rob. I understand the pain of having elevated a standard and it causing a lot of work. Once you learn how to do something perfectly it's nearly impossible to go back.
I love the progression of the skills and abilities over the years top notch work love the channel and your guys camaraderie together!! Keep up the amazing builds and videos!!!
I remember I was working in a commercial bodyshop when a rep brought the firstly plasma cutter id ever seen. It was a complete game changer for us because it replaced using a cutting torch in so many places
Man I'd definitely would pay Rob the big bucks to do my wiring harness! 😅😅 his work is just soo damn clean and u can show how much care he has for cars!
I keep checking back for the rotary. Really looking forward to it.
hi rob, i saw the 3 rotor at Gridlife today at Lime Rock raceway and i gotta say it was easily one of the best cars of the day. it was so cool to see you in person and i hope to see the 3 rotor again next year
"I can't believe it fits!" That's what she said...
Rob on the steering column there are three outputs from the key
(acc that turns off when the key goes into the start position but comes back on when the key is released)
(ign that comes on and stays on during cranking) and
(starter self explanatory)
Some cars have two Acc wires but all cars carbureted and injected have both Acc and Ign because both types of cars the coil has to have power during cranking and after.
Depending on where you put some components in an engine bay or other areas, you'll want to be careful of the wire taping/harness wrapping from the back of the connector. Manufacturers test their products according to their own application spec or OEM requirements. And adding harness wrapping too close to the back of the connector can bias the wires more than intended by the manufacturer. The main issue from that is sealability against water or other fluid ingress through the mat seals or wire seals. Most testing is harsher than what is expected in the field, but I've read alot of the OEM specs and they are also very dumb sometimes with their requirements. Id recommend checking application specs to get the best performance out of your connectors!
18:05 Isai practicing for his next "I'm stuck, step Brother." moment.
You are impressive my friend. I already know you have been planning this out and making all the computer stuff in your head for a year now. I get you. You're clever.
Never thought I'd see Rob and co's knowledge go into build a Challenger, this is amazing, great job !!!
As always, incredible video and build quality. I love seeing your passion in everything you do. Keep up the awesome work.
Can we get the new video Rob!?! I'm loving every second of this swap and build. I'm in dahmnation (see what I did there 😁) without it!!
best build on youtube right now, i love how you're showing everything involved in doing this correctly, this is going to be a NICE car at the end
I love that I can't skip ads from rob cause it usually has content in it and need to support rob
I feel like this is what I do in Forza Horizon 5 to make the old muscle cars competitive but irl, lol. Thanks for the awesome vid Rob and co!
Awesome video but Mustang II is not a foxbody Rob
Also, always paint mark your bolts before you begin your angle torque. A paint mark is one of the best visual references when dealing with torque to yield fasteners 👍🏼
I'm not a Mopar fan nor a rotary fan persay. However I always enjoy Robs videos as the works of art they create are amazing!
The fact he knows every facite and detail is mind blowing! And then he teaches that and shares it to the world....most shops don't want to do that? They want to hold their cards close to their chest and not give away any of their secrets because they want people to come in and spend their money at THEIR shop, Rob isn't doing send sharing this with us to make more money off doing challenger conversions though. So it's +++ for everyone even for people who don't have a challenger (like myself among others)
PS. I am an RX7 owner tho
Whats your preference?
@@justincharles6585 probably japanese four bangers
Rob, that is NOT Fox body style suspension, that is modeled after Mustang II/Pinto style stuff from early 70's to 78. Fox body cars use a modified MacPherson strut.
This makes my monday evening online training tolerable. Great to see the fast progress on this thing!
I like the process. By working on the tunnel, then prefitting the subframe, then lowering the car onto the engine/trans/Subframe as an assembly you avoid the common problem of the dangling motor/trans moving in three dimensions. I don't know how many times I've heard "back. up .down. left. up. right. down and over. left. down but up in the back. down in the front. move the whole thing to the right." over the years.
About shit myself when the crows foot snapped 😂
Unbelievable work Rob, you and the whole team. What a great build.
Your content is so good that even if i dont have time to watch it in the moment i always come back to make sure i see it to the end! i love the team great job yall
Rob must be a marketing manager's dream. The guy knows how to gush over a product in a genuine kinda way.
It’s amazing that they have such nice parts that just drop in
Nice work! You're making amazing progress.
This has been one of the best builds series on your channel. I'm really enjoying it. Thanks
Thanks for watching. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe!
Rob you are the only reason I go on CZcams to see if a new video has been uploaded loving this build
two weeks without a new vid. youre killing us lol
Hell yeah Rob dropped a new vid, been looking forward to another vid on this cars build progression and what perfect timing on my day off lol
Love Erica's raised eyebrows at 28:50
Oh noes its already over, oh that was 44 minutes of joy.
I really like the restomod concept, take something pretty of the past and combine with the new technology - I hope this will turn out amazing.
Made me cry😕 watching this 7 years ive been building saving an working on my dream build an wow the work you guys have done so far its amazing ❤❤ if money an equipment wasnt a issue id be there show what money can do 👌
Man, I can relate. I'm 15 years and many tears on an RX7 wide body FC build that I'm about to let go 😟
Sometimes the frustration and lack of money is too much. Sometimes family members need to be cared for and pass away. Sometimes all the money you had saved to finish your project gets evaporated because you need to put it into something else...
Sometimes you need to know when to pull the plug on a project and call it quits. I'm never going to have enough money to even fuel my RX7 by time I finish it let alone the money needed to be spent to finish it? Sometimes you need to know that someone else needs to finish a project too. That's where I'm at now.
bro, you cant be going 2 weeks no upload unless you have a badass 12 rotor video coming out soon. where you at?
No words i have but ,Its going to be awesome and safe, wish you alll the best, great job guys.
This is gonna be an incredible vehicle. Thanks for the awesome content, I learn a lot while watching your videos
Hanging out with you guys from the other side of the screen is always a blast thank you
0:38 i giggled at the high pitch sound he made 🤣
Builds like this are so awesome. Full of challenges, failures and successes. And the car has soul.
Long live the internal combustion engine.
nice!! cant wait to see it done
Great team, excellent camera work
Rob, before his channel was a kid in our neighborhood in Carrington Farms. Rob with his brothers started a computer business while in school (Jr and High school). Some of the comments say Master Brain!
Very awesome, thanks!
absolutely killing it with this build!
I could watch this for hours, so much info and progress, FUUUUNNN!!
18:05 best shot in the video 🥰
This project is nice. And how the video has made, looking good
Having a solid understanding of engineering is Rob's strong suit.
Seriously cool build, this is the sort of thing that needs to receive that 12 rotor.
Good job with the harness. If you want a stronger jacket, try holding the wires together with a zip tie near the connector end before heat shrinking.
These are so detailed it would be great to have it chaptered out. I know it adds work to an already busy guy, just wanted to drop the idea!
Yooo! Another video by Rob Dahm! Good luck on this venture! I wish y'all best of luck!
The thumb nail is a piece of art.
ROB ITS BEEN 3 WEEKS SIR!!! Where is our update!!!! Lmao you always leaving us hanging!!!
41:23 "maximum speed: 255mph" 😂😂
Dude, KEEPS better give you a raise! Lol not only is your hair thicker (been watching for while) but your add skills are great. The segways into them are great. Much love from Az, guys. 🤙🏻🤟🏻
Yo, that was actually a good sponsor segway. Props!
Loving this series you guys!
My day is always made when Rob drops a video
Sick sick build!!
@25:06 I think that is the reluctor wheel, which in a way kinda is a timing gear. But yeah, that is just there for a sensor to read the position of the crank. The timing gear would have teeth all the way around, and a chain on it.
enjoying the Series!
Any step of this build... building a harness, for example, would take me longer to finish than this whole project has taken so far 😂.... Rob is a motivated man!
from what ive learned working on vehicle harnesses, the cleaner looking it is, the better it performs/longer it lasts
Never thought i'd get to enjoy V8 content on this channel 😁
Wowie! You made it fit!
When this is done you and Erica should drag race between the Challenger and the 4 Rotor
Awesome!
This is the greatest car built show ever
Everything was explained no shortcut. Thanks rob. Mopawa
love this series look forward to the next episode.
The attention to detail is epic
I want to be like Rob. I know he says he’s just a normal guy but he has so much space in his brain to learn new things fast and I don’t know how he does it
When i watch videos like this, makes me wish i had a team of talented people to build me a car lol. Great work!
AWESOME PROJECT!
Mustang II BTW isnt a Foxbody Mustang, Mustang II is from 1974-1978 and alot of car builders use their front suspension for the builds:)
“Rob you give ring” Rob: “no me give car”
Cool project!
