I have a 2006 C280 with a M272 engine that has this problem on the left side (driver) cylinder head. The previous owner neglected the car by NOT changing the oil frequently. These multi cam/ flex cam engines need clean oil and correct quantity of oil or they fail in many ways.
Hello, I have ML 63 AMG 2007 with 300k Km on it . Till i use Castrol 5w40. Is this good oil for the car? My car never was changed Cilinder head bolts, because i didn't see any issues ! what You will suggest to do ? Thank you !
Tasos, i have an 08 s63 it has code p0018 , Camshaft Position Correlation Bank 2 Sensor 'A', when hooked to star it says in position in constant retard also when running tests in star also indicates that left intake cam can not be learned. i have replaced left intake cam adjuster because original it had play in it like your video "MB E63 AMG M156 intake camshaft adjuster failure" timed the engine and still same code. Engine runs smoothly but is low on power. really hitting a brick wall here. Was hoping you can tell me something i am overlooking. could it be possible the the intake solenoid needs replacing ? or even possibly the ecm? Tasos your opinion would greatly appreciated! Anybody who have had any experience with p0018 and fixed it your opinion would also be greatly appreciated! Tasos hope to hear from you soon as usual you always help everyone. Thanks again. Stay safe
My car w204 m156 2014 c63. Ticking noise from.engine when not driven for 6 days. Took.to.dealership in UAE first time: Changed 4 valve tappet. Ok sir problem solved. 1 week later ticking noise still there. Second time at dealership: Changed all valve tappet (32 in total) sir problem solved we tested the car. 1 week later same ticking noise still there. Third visit to dealership: After 3 weeks of investigating ok.sir we will change cam.shaft adjusters. Done took.the car home all seemed fine 1 month later same ticking.noise started to appear again. This time u dont have to park the car for 6 days to hear it . Ticking noise happens randomly sometimes after parking for 1 days or 2 days sometimes never. Car back at dealership. A german engineer they call "the doctor" in town from germany and he is investigating!! Waiting to see what they have to say this time .. car has 25,000 km only . And still.under warranty this is ridiculous. So far this year the car spent 3 months inside the dealership garage. 😩
Ok guys so after having my car at the dealership for 30 days to check the ticking noise the dealership nor myself could hear the ticking noise again. Keep in mind that the dealership replaced all 32 valve tappets and all four camshaft adjusters . when i first turned on the car there was white smoke coming but it seems nothing major there I reckon just because the car was sitting undriven for a while. After a short cruise all smoke disappeared and car runs smoothly. What can I say driving this beast let you appreciate what you have despite all the headache I have been through. The dealership told me not to worry if the ticking noise comes again as all parts replaced comes with extra 1 year warranty. Fingers crossed I dont hear this noise again😅
Absolutely agree with you about the smoke. I went down an hour ago to turn the engine on and the white smoke appeared again. So the Mercedes dealer here in Dubai not only couldn't identify the ticking noise problem but also returned my car to me with white smoke! I wonder how serious is this issue and what are the possible causes

Tasos, i removed all my camshafts adjusters and the lash gear on one of the exhaust adjusters were abit stiff compared to the rest, this a problem?
