  • A friend had this Juki DDL-555-4 sewing machine with an "iffy" 220 volt computer controlled motor so I swapped it with a manual 120 volt motor.

Does this mean many nice features of the machine such as synchronisation, stop with needle up or down, back tack, etc. will be lost?

If I recall, the computer functionality didn't work anyhow, and it was 220 volt, she wanted 110 volt so long story short, it was a broken "parts" machine that has come back to life. I don't recall what functions or options the machine itself had...

Is the machine good for heavy duty fabric, or fabric with multiple layers

Do you happen to have the model number and where you ordered the motor from?

Sorry I don't, the motor was gifted to me and I re-gifted it a friend
