12:27 I had to look up what the row was about.
Mercer worked 20 hrs a week for 365 GBP/HR for Crucial Academy; they got funded (partially) by a company representing LCF who had a failed bond scheme that lost people 265M GBP. In the clip Mercer denies this, but this was later shown to be correct.
Mercer resigned as a non-executive director, then appointed executive director at the same salary. He then became minister, announced he would resign the position, which he didn't until it was reported in the media.
He is currently minister under Rishi Sunak (2024).

@@berendharmsen native English speaker but American and from the South and every once in a while something a Brit says makes my brain short circuit lol interestingly it only seems to happen with them and not with others who learn English and speak with their native accent (like I never have any issues understanding Henning Wehn or Daliso Chopanda when they're on the panel shows) - I suppose it's because they don't typically speak as fast or use as much UK slang.

He's very entertaining when he's not on a fast-paced panel show. For example QI grinds to an awkward halt when he's on. I could listen to his ridiculous stories in a conversational format.
