If you are under 800, you can surpass it by playing safe, fundamental moves.
    1. Develop all your pieces before trying to attack (unless there's a tactic that will immediately win material).
    2. Keep your pieces protected. Unsafe pieces become targets. Every move should aim to make progress whilst keeping your pieces safe.
    3. Always check for threats, particularly with the opponent's queen. Your eyes should be trained for B+Q and N+Q checkmates.
    4. Don't trade active pieces for inactive pieces, and do trade inactive pieces for active pieces.
    5. Keep training tactics through puzzles. Puzzles are the way chess players maintain and improve their vision.

I learned quite a bit from this. What I run into the most is instead of holding tension on the board the opponents are always trigger happy about trading pieces and it leaves us both with very few pieces to work with. That being said, seeing how you pin pieces giving yourself time to develop faster than the opponent was a huge help.

I'm currently thinking I should start playing for real but stockfish, which never makes human like mistakes, is just too hard for me and I may have to simply bite the bullet and start playing online.

This was so helpful and hilarious too! Your mic volume is a little low, though. I have to put it on max volume, then the ads come up way too loud all of a sudden in the middle of the video

You can’t really blame them from abandoning the game when they’re such a low lvl and they’re going up against you.

Love how the commentary is fun and at the same time has something to add, even if a lull in opponent play speed :D

This was a good tutorial. I see you have similar others and I will check them. I'd like to see 1000 and then above, just to understand the difference btwn the levels. Thank you : )
