9:28 There's Nb3, same fork you were trying to avoid but in a different position. Otherwise nice analysis! I liked the re-routing of the light-squared bishop.
Indeed! because of the time pressure..so she should play 10 min like many that i watch and it's a lot better...
Notice that one after Anna placed the bishop on f6 easy to miss that move due to time pressure should have played 10-15 minutes explaining while playing.
Yeah very risky to put her Queen and Rook deep in enemy territory where it was basically 2 vs 5. It would take very thorough calculation (which she didn't do) to make sure there's no danger there.

Not the same fork, coz 9:19 the bishop on f6 is very important - the best move Qb2, Nc4 fork, Rxe2, Nxb2, Rxe1, Rh1xe1 (or Rc1xe1), Bxb2 and the weak a3 pawn is under pressure. The other var is - Qd4, Nb3 fork, Rxe2, Qxe2 giving the rook for the bishop
Please do more videos for this level. This was incredible and I'll probably be rewatching a lot, but two games is not enough!
I think this where the most people struggle, first big wall, you've learned openings, your opponent doesn't hang pieces, then what? what to do next xD
@@twoplustwoequals5733 yes, that's exactly right. Knowing the middle game plans for the opening u play is extremely crucial in my opinion.
Never really understood pawns. I think your explanation about the weaknesses created and understanding what is not possible after that pawn move was helpful. Very practical explanation, not just saying a weakness, but explaining the weakness was helpful. Thanks.
Please make more of these videos! I find your explanations very useful. I'd like to see more around 1100 to 1400, not just because that's my level, but because your explanations seem clearer at those levels - maybe getting into time trouble was a factor here.

I've spent a long time stuck bouncing around between about 1200 and 1500 (sometimes going backwards) so it is helpful to get advice for this playing strength. Some things I took away from this video were that I should be playing longer time controls (I play too much bullet and blitz) and I need to develop more positional awareness. I should also broaden my opening knowledge. Great to see your thought processes in playing these kind of games and the way you formulate plans to exploit weak moves from the opponent.
Definitely play rapid if you want to improve at that level. Blitz is too fast and won’t give you the chance to properly think. The reason hikaru for example is so good at blitz is they have developed the openings, move intuition, pattern recognition from longer time controls

I went from complete beginner to 2100 mainly playing blitz. I rarely play rapid and so you can definitely improve just playing blitz

My chess performance has skyrocketed since I started watching you content. It's explained in a way that doesn't bombard me with a bunch of buzzwords and "new concepts" which normally always distract me from the game. Just teach me the value of understanding the position I'm playing which given me a 64% win rate. Thanks a bunch!

The logic in playing chess above 1200 is simply amazing to me,I'm barely 1100 but I definitely spot blunders,but the way Anna just coordinates pieces is just so amazing.she makes it look so easy wow
Anna is so worthy. Can't miss an episode.
Here is a quick way to get a lot of it. Look for the most forward attacking move. That is a move that forces your opponent to do something they don’t want to do. That is usually the best move and will probably get you a healthy rating boost. Also focus on moving pieces to the forward center. They will tend to coordinate on their own.
Am exactly 1500, never read a book, don't know openings, but I spend a lot of time practicing chess tactics and trying to learn from each one.
When I play a 1500 I'm usually losing until the end game where my opponent might blunder or I find or set up tactics and tricks.
But if I play a 1600 player I generally get smashed because they don't fall for my tricks.

Well, Nb3 then Rxe2, Qxe2 giving the black rook for the bishop, Qb2 is much better (it is the toxic fork with losing some white pieces after Rxe2)

In the first game: b6 and after b4, a5 is typically considered to be the top engine moves. Just for ideas in these structures

I must admit, most games I lose now are because of bad pawn moves, not realizing that I am creating a weakness in my position.
I'm 1350 and hate facing the queens gambit declined since there is kinda no way around it and black has some space issues. The moves don't come natural to me. I try to play the Albin Countergambit, not for cheap tricks but just to get rid of that annoying c4 d4 structure. Loved the vid Anna!
After just a few lessons from you Anna I'm not scared of playing the computer anymore. I can set up forks and other traps the computer walks right into. I'm past beginner level. Thank you !!!😁
9:25 white night b3 and the rook is gone as the queen is forced to retreat to d5 or d1, or camp at b2. That is the white's key error.
I am struggling to get 1700 and always find myself just around 1500 -1600 good to watch streamers doing all these improvements and helpful videos I will never miss. I am really trying to get 1700 at the very least.
Tactics study will get you there, most likely.
@@ems3832 I'm spending at least 30 minutes / daily solving puzzles in Lichess. Endgame is what find I need to work more, and ye blunders.

Qd5, and if takes rook, e4+ winning the knight and turning the rook and queen maybe?

It takes playing under the same conditions to realise how good and how confident Anna is. With only five minutes it’s easy to run out of time, and although she gets close, she never actually runs out nor is she worried about the possibility. I must watch Game 2. Thank you for this content 😊
In game 1, after your move, Q-d4, a better move for white would have been N-b3 getting your rook instead of Nxb7.
Good analyses! I wonder if your opponents think they're going to run you out of time in the seconds before you snuff them...
Even me i always think she will lose on time....that is stressful!

You got so lucky at 9:25. You didn't want to move the queen to b2 because you didn't want to get forked with Nc4, but then you moved the queen to d4, where the same knight could fork your queen and rook with Nb2. Your opponent just missed it. I haven't looked with an engine, but I think the best thing you could have done was play Rxe2 and desperado.

I’ve realised while I rarely lose in a real game it comes down to eliminating as much as possible then gaining queens

Awesome video! I'm getting back into chess so I'm pretty noob, can someone explain to me how at 9:27 why white can't just go knight b3 to fork the queen and rook? I see rook takes bishop to counter threaten queen but after queen captures rook aren't you just down an exchange? Or is there another fork or something sneaky that you can do after?
Yeah Nb3 could be played but it’s around equal then (slightly better for white), but that’s why Qb2 was better than Qd4 :)

what about nd5 after b5 with the idea xe7 if you dont take xd5? just move the be7 away or take d5 to get the open file but no pawn?

Its definitely really helpful for early intermediates. I've been stuck at 1400 for like a year and just finding tactics isn't as helpful anymore because I don't have the strategy intuition go back it up

As a feedback I think it would be better to play the match first with a proper way and then roll back and comment what you were thinking.. Cause now you are trying a lot to comment everything on time and it ends up with having no remaining time and this stresses you and maybe affects the quality and quantity of your comments and your game

I think that's the best move for white
1500 here and I definitely tell non chess players that I’m in the top 90 percentile online. They think I’m amazing but really I’d get destroyed by most serious 10 year olds and have so many flaws in my game. 😂
The thing is that 90% chess players are super bad (me included)
Hi Anna. I dont understand how to watch your videos. my level is getting up toward 1600 if I play an untimed game. But when I play blitz ( lid you are doing in this video) my level is normally less than 1000. Therefore which videos should I be watching?

Yea, thought about it some more and it looks like you would just capture the rook with your queen, rook takes your queen, then you take another rook. So it looks like that would work in your favor 👍

Am I not seeing something or moving the Queen to d4 at 9:20 was a mistake because the Knight couild go to b3 and creake a Queen-Rook fork?
Always got a strong feeling that i play like 1300-1400, but i like playing 3min games on phone, so i always got some interesting complicated english opening (my main) position and 10 sec on the clock) Trying to get move faster cause me to make serious blunders and i resign. Is 3minute comfortable for u to play? Great video btw

There's no difference really lol. An online chess match isn't much different than a real one. You can't get to 2000 cheating anyways-you will be caught

At 9:26 could white not have played knight b3? Forking rook and queen?
9:27 Your opponent could have played Nb3 and would probably have won the game due to being up almost 4 minutes and a rook. Your plan to get the bishop involved via d7 e8 f7 and e5 was too slow you gave him time to regroup his pieces and get the king safer. e5 followed by Be6 was probably best. Same idea to develop the bishop but you also open up the white king even more. It doesn't even lose a pawn because of the queen but even if it would it wouldn't matter.
