Quick Correction - as several have pointed out, I had a brain fart on the description of the SF (short frame) designation. It really applies to the trigger reach, not the height! Sorry for the error, and thanks for keeping me honest!

Love my 30S! Wish you would have talked about the flush 9 round mags. Glock 21 13 rd mags with x grip and of course the Pearce grip replacement end cap for the factory 10 rd magazines. They transform the gun. Look forward to more of your videos. Based on them alone I walked away from a P227 to the 30s.
@@brad3203 I hear the 9 rnders are pretty much unicorns tho in terms of scarcity.
I have glock 17 gen5, would you recommend that I buy glock 19 gen5 would I notice any difference?
hi justin .. i would like to ask what should i buy..? i glock 26 or a glock 30 or glock 30S.. i like concealed guns and a firepower but i concerning the cost of 9mm to 45 acp ammos.. can you give me advice thanks.. Im from Philippines
Led Zeppelin is an evil Satan worshipping music band. Watch the video documentary called, 'ROCK N' ROLL SORCERERS of the NEW AGE'
"The Glockiest Glock that Glock ever Glocked". I'm sold.
Quite possibly the most underrated edc handgun of all time.
Underrated ?!!? Like every rapper don’t sing bout these 😂
To anyone that owns a G19 and is looking to get a G30S, they both fit in the same holsters. Perfect if you want to add one or the other to your EDC rotation. Great shooter.
So does the Glock 32
This is good to know
I hear that kydex G19 holsters can't fit the 30S thicker frame.
@@hugostiglitz9864 I can't speak for all kydex holsters. But kydex with a leather back should definitely fit (Crossbreed Supertuck). The G30S is a little thicker though, that's true.
@@hugostiglitz9864 leather is the issue. I have carried my 30s in my glock 23/19 Blackhawk sherpa. Tight at first, fine after
Thoroughly enjoyed this video. I am going on 73 years old. My Glock 30S has been my every day, everywhere, carry gun for over four years now and it will continue in that roll until it's passed down to my grandson someday. The only mods are TruGlo night sights and I undercut the trigger guard. For self-defense carry I prefer to leave all the internals in ultra reliable Glock condition and no stupid shit bling changes on the slide or frame. The Glock 30S conceals very well and very comfortably in both a Concealment Express IWB and in a 1791 Gun Leather OWB holster. I picked up a shoulder rig several months ago but haven't tried it yet. "Hammer Of The Gods" , yea I really like that!
Role, not roll.
Love my Glock 30. Mine is a SF. It's one of my, " never get rid of", guns.
Bought a 30 couple of days ago, went to range yesterday, SWEET SHOOTER😎😎
I own a Glock 30 Gen 4 and it’s the only .45 I feel I need. Can’t see myself ever getting rid of it and I’ve gotten rid of a lot of guns.
@@hector76gonzalez yea I carry my gen 4 30 daily with hornady hollows :)
I’m right there with you brother. I have a 30s that’s a few years old and was recently offers $1,000 for it and 100 rounds of ammo. I politely declined after realizing these guns are next to impossible to find right now. Cherish the gem you have
Just bought a gen 4 30sf. What holster to you run?
Love my 30s. 1st shot out of the box was a bullseye...punched the X. That was about 7 years ago. It's been my go-to ever since. Even with my extra large mitts the SF fits my hand like a glove.
I am a 33 year veteran of law enforcement (and counting), and my EDC and off duty gun for the past 6 years has been my Glock 30s. It is by far my favorite Glock. Love your videos!
I like the .45 caliber but I do not shoot subcompact pistols well.
35 and still counting (although semi-retired now). I also carry a 30S. Its my favorite gun I own.
That was the best description of the 30s Ive ever heard. Even with the “oops” on what sf stood for you did a terrific job. Thanks - much appreciated! I have subscribed...
Glad you enjoyed it! - thanks for the sub!
same
I have my Glock 30s as my conceal carry and truck gun. I purchased the g30s brand new 6 years ago, it still kicks ass.
Great video! You did an awesome job at covering all the stats and provided multiple shooting angles! Other vids are either Stats or just shooting from one angle. Keep up the great work. I love my 30SF!!!
I love my Glock 30s!! I’ve had it for 4 years, and I carry it more than any of my other 45 Carry pistols. I didn’t think anyone else really knew about these since I never see videos on one and I never see them in the stores anymore. Great video!!
check out hickocks part 2 video of it. man he really puts it to work out on that range. crazy accuracy
I bought a glock 30s a few months ago and do really enjoy it. I like the 10 round double stack and you can definitely feel the power, but it mitigates the recoil well.
BTW - I was really surprised at the variation in speed of that Remington ammo. Might warrant further testing - when ammo is affordable and available enough for "testing"! Thoughts??
I noticed this. Shockingly wide spread and way too many low velocity readings. I'm sure it would be effective, but perhaps the equivalent JHP version would hold to higher velocity and lower spread.
Yes sir I thought that too. I was starting to think that maybe the chronograph is going crazy, LOL! I'd be curious to see if their velocity settle down later when ammo isn't so stupidly expensive as well.
Almost 300fps of variation? I haven't gone back to look again, but I was surprised to see readings in the upper 5's and low 6's...
Agreed. That was some wild deviation..
I picked up on that, too. Maybe chrono Winchester White Box and see how it stacks up.
Good video! My 30S has become my primary off duty carry since I got it! I "frankensteined" a 9 round mag with a 13 round mag spring and a Taran Tactical +4 to use as the primary magazine. Also just added Hackathorn Ameriglos. LOVE THIS HAND CANNON!
Love the 30s first 45acp I ever had and just fell in love. The grip is a little slick for me but put a rubber grip on it and just feels so good.
Had one, sold it, needed to have one again and just bought another. One of the best carry options in 45! Nice video & Zeppelin forever!
I've had my 30s for almost 8 years now, I agree it is like an extension of my hand. I do kinda wish glock made a threaded barrel model though. Love the 30s and your content, keep up the good work with that hammer.
You can buy a threaded barrel
Wasn’t really a gun enthusiast till I went to the range yesterday, I shot a glock 30 and I must say it’s by far my favorite gun that I shot that day
My favorite Glock and YES, IT IS A SUBCOMPACT (i.e., this is how Glock advertises it online in retail stores). This pocket cannon, with a 10 round .45 ACP magazine, is a joy to shoot. A relatively soft shooter that is easy to keep on target. I have no idea why this isn't the most popular Glock (and yes, I have a Glock 19, as well as a Glock 26). Great review!
Love your recoil graph and chrono segment!
I carry a standard Gen 4 Glock 30, I like the weight of the fatter slide on the G-30 compared to the narrower G-30S slide it seems to help in faster follow up shots. Enjoyed the video as always with your gun videos, they are top of the line..🇺🇸👍✌️
Thanks
SF frame refers to the “trigger reach” dimension. Where the gen3 trigger reach was roughly equivalent to the gen4 with medium backstrap, the sf frame was a transition frame that had trigger reach equivalent to later gen4 models with no backstrap.
Now if Glock could just sell a dang Gen 4 30S.
You beat me to it. That's exactly right!
Exactly ,this guy needs to do a little more research before making a gun video with wrong information . Otherwise good video
I'm glad someone posted this.
I had a non tactical model FNX45 I called “Mjolnir,” i.e. Thor’s Hammer. My theory was 15+1 of .45acp should be more than adequate for any problem solvable by a handgun.
my fnx 45 tactical had 2 failure to extract out of the box. I did not limp wrist. I returned it
Feels like 2x4 in your hands don't it....
@@davidchrist428 Actually, no. It was more comfortable in hand to me than a Glock 17. The FNX was bulky, but the angle and texture were better IMHO.
Had 2 FNX45. Great gun. Thinking about picking a new one up soon. Grip is probably a little thicker then the 21 ? But such a soft shooting gun.
My 2 cents is G-20. 15+1 of true 10mm loads that are literally twice the ballistics of a .45🤘🏻
I've got a couple Glock 30S's and a 30SF... Love that round and platform! GREAT Review...Thanks ';-) Mike~
This video could not get more 80s inspired.
Great review, thanks so much
Just picked up a nice used one up at my locally owned gun store….never thought about these until I got stationed in Cali and was looking for a compact pistol In 45. CCW is not as bad as I thought being active duty military here…only took 4 months. Thanks for the great video!
Great vid quality, good job. I run Wolff recoil spring assembly’s with 21# springs in all my .45’s (36, 41, and 30-S) and have had 100% feed and reduced recoil
Underrated model. One of my personal favs
One of the best .45 Glock videos on CZcams 💪
I'm primarily a 9mm user but my dad is a huge .45 ACP guy 👍
Wisdom comes with age . . .
Great video. Thanks!
Love my glock 30sf, had it for a year now. It's funny I named it Mjolnir, and this video is titled "Hammer of the Gods"! Great shooter, and you handle it well.
My glock 30 is one a carry most often. I love mine. Great job
I just love how you follow through after the last round and at the same time take your trigger finger out.
love those esoteric electric lust of gun lighting on the wall
Great video this is also one of my very favorite guns. It's also the one that I have been carrying everyday for a while now.
I agree, it's one of my favorites. Only issue is that the magazine sometimes pinches pinky, while shooting.
Recoil looks very manageable. I am watching this video thinking of purchasing this model. I think you sold me on it! Thanks for the great review.
Bought this as my birthday gift last year..........haven't shot it yet,...however I used to carry it's big brother, the 21SF for my job.....love Glocks.
My EDC handgun is either a Glock 26 or Glock 30S. I normally carry the Glock 30S during the fall and winter and the Glock 26 during the spring and summer. The Glock 30S is my favorite of the two handguns, and I have had the Glock 30S worked on by Wilson Combat where this handgun received the following work/upgrades: battle sight rear sight, snag free front sight, WC etched logo, black armor-tuff finish, front cocking serrations, stippled frame and thumb pads, slide top serrations, flared ejection port, extended magazine release, and extended slide lock. Everyone who sees this pistol comments on how good the handgun looks and I comment on how well the gun shots. This is a very easy handgun to shot with low recoil and I have found this handgun to be highly accurate. Like others, I find it extremely difficult to load 10 rounds into the magazine and I normally carry these two handguns with 9 rounds in their 10 round magazine for a variety of reasons. I purchased the Glock 30S due to the fact that I had several 1911s in 45 acp caliber, and there has been some talk about the state of Virginia passing a law which restricts/limits magazine capacity to a maximum of 10 rounds. Should such a state or federal law be passed, my EDC handgun will primarily become the Glock 30S. Thanks for allowing me to add my comments.
Your comment is motivating me to buy the Glock 30s because I love my Glock 26, and you said you prefer the g30s over the g26. Thats interesting!
I can’t believe its been 8 years. Bought mine late 2014 and has been an excellent edc. My first and only Glock.
Can't say that's a bad model to be your only Glock.
The first Glock I shot was a G23, I think. When I brought it up to shoot, I loved the sight picture. Aligning the dot in the big fat U I found really easy, much easier than 3-dot sights. I don't know why that is, but that's my experience. And I shot the G23 better than my Sig P226 that I'd been shooting regularly for a number of years. I has night sights that still glow, so I think it's a fair comparison. Maybe it is because my eyes are beginning to fail - the fat lines are easier to see. Just me. I like Glock sights - I do wish they were metal.
Great video and what a nice pistol! Congrats from Brazil!
The Glock 21sf is my favorite. I need the 30sf or 30s in my collection.
Love my 30s! 10 round magazines for city protection, 13 round magazines for woods carry. Nice video brotha, thanks.🤙
The G30 sf if my favorite Glock. I been trying for a long time to get my hands on the G30S
Love my glock 30 sf! Great vid, thanks for sharing!
I just got the Glock 30 gen 4 two days ago and I’m super happy to have it. I’ve had the the non railed 36 before but never one of those thick girls.
This is the 1st video of yours I've seen, but it won't be the last. I've got to say, I agree 100% on everything you've said, and that's rare. I bought my g30 a couple of years ago. It wasn't long after the Glock single stacks came out. I haven't ever been a Glock fan. I thought they were ugly, and I never found one comfortable for me to shoot. But when I saw the G36, I wanted to try one out by renting one. After several trips to the range and always finding that gun being rented out or unavailable, the guy behind the counter suggested I try out the g30 instead. So, WTH! I rented it and the Springfield XD-S. I tried the XD-S out first since I'd owned a few Springfield's and liked the brand. But what I discovered was that that little devil hurt my hand to shoot! So it only got a couple of mags through it before I switched to the g30. Wow! What a difference! I fell in love with a Glock! If you had ever heard me badmouth Glocks before, you'd know how shocking this was.
It wasn't long until I went home with one. I'm a huge fan of the short, fat .45ACP. Most of mine have been 1911s. My EDC has been a Colt Defender in .45 for several years. But now I've got an alternate carry in .45.
Just wanted to say again how much I agree with you about the g30. I've never tried the Ameriglos, but I've thought about them several times. Mine's still got the standard Glock sights on it but I have a set of Trijicon HD's waiting for me to put them on it (someday).
Great video!
The 30 and 30s in by far the most accurate glock for me. It is an absolute nail driver. Hopefully my 29 will fall right in line with the 30
I just bought the Glock 30s and im in love. Im committed to a 45 for my carry and this fit perfectly. If 10 rounds isn't enough, the Glock 21 13 round magazines with fit.Awesome
I've said it like 6 times in the comments here but be sure to get x grip with it. you'll thank me later
Appreciate the review. Considering this one again
I love the G30 for it's soft recoil but that fat slide makes carrying a bit uncomfortable . The G30S is on my hit list now for sure!
The 30s is a great hammer! Great video!!
My 30S doesn't get the range time it deserves. After watching this video, it will now! Thanks for the great review.
Hi! The GLOCK 30 is just a great gun. Simple accurate and the standard 30’s are great 👍 the sight upgrade is mandatory. I love it long live GLOCK🇺🇸
Thanks for the great review
Great shot of Plant. I saw them in San Francisco at the Carousel Ballroom on their first tour, I had already worn out the first album lol...and great shooting at 15 yards
I wish more companies would make 45s in a variety of flavors! With modern double stack technology for better capacity. I just love 45
Exactly, there’s only so many striker fire double stack polymer 9mms before it gets stale and boring
Thank Glock for the double stack .45 pistols of today like the modern double stack 1911's popping up today, HK and Glock are the ones who pioneered semi-auto polymer double stack pistols
That was nice shooting Just!
So interesting you put this video up recently. Was recently considering this with 13 rounders. Would make it a formidable .45 EDC.
You have a calm voice and demeanor, your like the Bob Ross of target shooters.
@11:24 I saw him flinch trying to anticipate that recoil. And I have the talon grips on my G27 Gen 5. And on all my pinky extensions, they are amazing
Best handgun I own. Never was a glock fan til I got one. Did my research and it was between a 30s or 10mm glock 29. 30s way better choice, slimmer slide, ammo easier to find, ammo costs less, not as much recoil, more upgrades avail, and almost as potent as 10mm with good plus P ammo.
Have you ever shot a 29?
10mm Glock is my animal defense gun for when I'm in the wilderness hunting 👍
In case a boar charges me or something
Exactly why I’m going to buy a 30s and not a 10mm.
Ill take a bigger slug anyday.
LOL, had both 29 is WAY better. .45 is an outdated round.
Home defense where your worried about over penetration? ok. Otherwise 10mm way better!
Can’t wait to own one this summer. Tried out the 30 but a little too blocky in grip, will get the 30s and can’t wait. Already started saving up! I’m a sig guy but .45acp in a compact no brainer!
Love my Glock 30s. I even magnaported it. Now one Glock that gets no love is the Glock 36!! Another EDC favorite!
A friend of mine had a G21 and 36. He sold the 21 and kept his 36 to keep his 1911s company since he reloads.
Hey Justin? I just found this video and watched it. ( i have seen a few of your other video reviews and I like them ) I wanted to comment on something you said in this video that i felt needed to be said. You mentioned that once upon a time " when you thought you were photographer" Thats what i want to say to you. You took a great picture, capturing a certain moment in time, of Robert plant, and it was chosen for a magazine!!! YOU ARE A PHOTOGRAPHER! And i want to encourage you to keep at it if it is still a passion of yours. We are all born with talents, and skills, and dreams that God our father put into our hearts, that are supposed to guide us to who we are and where we are supposed to be! When we try to ignore things that are very much Inside of us, and who we are? We lose ourselves and we cheat ourselves and the rest of the world of our true selves and our individual positive and productive contributions to our world! AND WE ALL SHOULD KNOW THAT WE NEED AS MUCH POSITIVE AND PRODUCTIVE CONTRIBUTIONS AS WE CAN GET IN THIS HORRIBLE WORLD! ( And youre also a pretttty good shot too! )
Love my Glock 30S as well... Best gun I own!!
its a great shooting firearm... One of their best....Thank you
Big fan of the glock 30. Thanks for the video.
I have never shot a more accurate pistol; something about the 30 that just shoots so dam well. Feels great even in regular sized hands with the right stippling.
Love my 30s! Great video!
30s is no joke. I almost sold mine but so glad I didn't!!!! When 9mm first got hard to find I did find .45. Plus, here in the country we have foxes, coyotes, and black bear, etc. One bear is very bold and comes searching for neighborhood trash. I carry usually when in the yard doing work....might need a 10mm!
Research the 45+p loads. Ive seen articles comparing them to 10 mm. Might work out for you
@@robertalonzo5725 good point....I do need to check that out
Great video. I have a lot of Glocks but not this one. My LGS has a used SF for $389...I think I'm going to grab it tomorrow. Thanks for the info.
Other than my M-16 yes I’m that old when I was in the army the Glock 30 Gen 3 was the first hand gun we ever shot. Like it and still do . Thanks
ummm....no you did not shoot this in the Army.....
I love my 30s. I hit a fire extinguisher with it at 200 yds up a hill, across a valley. It took me about 10 rounds to walk it in, but I got it. Proof the 30s is more accurate than I am. It’s been my edc ever since. True story.
Awesome video! I’m thinking of getting this gun next.
Excellent demo, I want the G30s!
I found the 30S, and a 30 w\SF Frame at the store. I went with the 30, only because of the ability to also use a 29 (10mm) barrel in it at times as well. At the time, I couldn't find a conversation barrel that would've worked for the 30S. 30s was noticably skinnier.
love my 30 too! and I noticed that the brass hits your head/cap too ...... just like mine. LOL cheers and thanks for the vid
I love mine ! Traded a SA Champion for it a while back ! I swapped out the Glock floor plate for a Pearce one ! I’m running Trijicon HD sights . The 30S is my winter carry EDC with Gold Dot 200 JHP +P. The Dillon Optics shades are looking good too 😎
I love the G30 platform, and like the 30S even better. What would really put my affinity for the G30S over the top is if it had a grip length akin to the G19/23/32. While I'm at it, a single stack G21, same length & height, 10 rnd mag & narrow slide like the 30S.
Agree with the idea of a grip length of the G19/23/32. Those 3 pistols, for me, have the ideal grip length. My little finger just barely gets a positive grip on any of the three. On the G30S, my little finger sits halfway on the bottom of the magazine and halfway under it. Just a tad too short for me to get a real positive grip.
I have that gun and carry it as a backup to my 17gen5.. I love the 30s
Likely someone else has already said this, but....
The "SF" refers to front to back grip thickness, not height.
Thanks for explaining some of Glocks abbreviated nomenclature. I purchased my first Glock 2 years ago. Glock 19 gen 3. Love "everything" about it exept they should change their slogan to "Glock, the only gun I forgive for throwing random casings at my forehead."
Great video Justin 👍🏽
Thanks 👍
I have the 29 gen4 and it's a handful of awesomeness. Thanks for the video. Great shooting. I could hear the deductions in your checking account with every bang. Referring to ammo cost geesh. When will it ever change.
nice review! I just purchased mine recently and cannot wait to shoot it at the range. This is my second handgun my first was an 9mm XD. his weapon is far superior I can tell.
I'm sold. I'm a fan of carry guns that "start with a four (4)!" Oh, massive Led Zeppelin fan! The 2007 O2 arena show was breathtaking. 🇺🇸🎖👍
Love the hat, love Zeppelin, and love the photo you took! When and where were you lucky enough to see Zeppelin?
The "Sledgehammer" 💪💪
Nice detailed review 🕶👍
500th like was me. You could just as easily name this video "confirmation bias", a Zep fan lauding my edc. Do I have to go get a camero now? lol. Thanks for the vid Justin, you rock.
I love this pistol. Your video showed us how this pistol should be presented. Well done.
Thanks, sir!
Also diggin' the dou , rock on Just O \m/
Good review and seems like a cool guy. Subbed
That truly is a hammer.
I had both 21sf and 30sf, both were both super accurate (more than my sig 1911 and SW625 45acp) under 25yds and totally reliable without cleaning! I only got rid of them along with most my 45acp pistols because I couldn't afford the ammo and have too many glocks.
"I have too many Glocks" said......NOBODY, EVER!!! Except you 🤔 🤔 🤔 Hmmmm?
I like your choice @Justin ! I’ve got two Glocks ( G30S and G36 ). I can shoot both fairly accurately, and my G36 just happens to be one of my go to guns ( as well as the G30 ). I’m not overly enamored with Glock or a fanboy, however as a tool the G30S fills the bill as a perfect conceal weapon.
