@@vender68 The wall was paid for using Terran's minerals, but the protoss took much worse trades because of it, so the protoss paid for the wall ultimately, paid with the loss.

Maru's patience is godly, it feels like the entire game was all a step towards the last fight.
That ghost at 22:38 solo-sniping that HT was actually the MVP... Wow. Seemed so extra in the moment, but if Zest had two more storms at the end he would've won the fight.
But he didn't and Maru destroyed that xeno filth with Terran Might!
Maru's playstyle is just incredible. He reacts and counterplays you for half an hour until you slowly bleed out. The Terran race also fits his playstyle so perfectly. The sensor towers, the pfs, the scans and all the units which basically scream static defense. I was never anywhere near being a professional player but this seems just so unbeatable.
I wouldnt say maru has a “playstyle”
He can play anything and everything,and can adapt really well to maps/balance/any unique situation
I thought he was done when zest goes into his main base and wipe out his production buildings but of course I notice but zest is broke...

I think a dose of reality is in order here. He is good at starcraft. I am not sure this translates to war in general. Also I doubt a war with aliens would be anything but a moment prior to total annihilation, and we would never know how.

Always amazed at Maru's breadth of play. Far more experienced at going deep into the late game against all three races than every other Terran.

Damn I thought Zest had it for a minute, if only he started building the bottom left base while he was on top of Maru's production he could've held that position I think.
He needed more production earlier too, kept floating 12k resources with a handful of stargates.
Could of been pumping out 10 tempests at a time and killed Maru off from half the map away...

Weird to say, but I'm very proud of zombiegrub's evolution. I remember the EARLIER casting days and now it makes me happy that she is one of the best commentators in the game.

Seeing extensive use of the map and weapons in a macro game was really satisfying. Unit control amazing. Very cool!
That was a brutal game! great tactic to resist fighting with the vikings, letting his city get saked, then regrouping and counter attacking for the win!
Everytime is a pleasure watching maru playing with terran army. I'm feel in starship troopers(90's) movie, in a dinamic scene.

I love the state of mech in LotV, more viable and rounded than it's been, and Maru whipping it out occasionally with great results, and great games to watch!

It's interesting that the Battle Report lists Interceptors killed on the side of Zest, alongside the Vikings that kills. I am guessing this is due to the fact that the Carrier's death is what triggers the Interceptors to die, so it sees it like Zest suiciding them...?

Okay pausing to just throw this out there.. If Zest doesn't make the recall to 1 o'clock and play it out the way he did then maru basically just continues his siege push into the 12 o'clock and Zest loses it OR Zest takes an unfavorable engage and likely loses the game right there. He can also wait it out but ultimately he is going to have to take an unfavorable engage over that siege. The only way around that is some strange situation like what happened (something he absolutely intended/forced and it's an insane testament to this guys skill). At 12:06 where I paused he has lost a lot, yes, but he also gained a lot - and gained a lot MORE than he lost if you ask me as the alternative is losing the game right there and then. This gave him time and options, and continued his game. Cheers!

I think that if the Maru's speed and reaction combine with Raff's creativity it will be chance for terrans to oppose other fractions.

but vikings are a lot more squishier than marauders because they don't have base armor and can't be healed

They should make the planetary fortress to have an upgrade Into silo drops. For gate defense strategy.
With the addition of being able to load marines like a bunker option. Where loading marines prevents construction of SCV.

Between Reynor (Z), Trap (P), and Rogue (Z), there is some very stiff competition for the title of #1. While Maru is undoubtedly the #1 Terran right now (Sorry, Clem fans, but c'mon...), the position of #1 pro is still very much up in the air.

Terran best race skill wise
zest has less resource to reproduce his army while attacking maru's main base (normal player will surrender) . Maru still keep fighting by rebuild another base on top right and keep an advantage of abundant resources to build second wave army. Zest also need high mineral and gas to produce carrier and ray too whereas Maru build mass viking /ghost (much cheaper)
Can someone tell me why zest didn’t get tempest? Couldn’t he have used them to snipe turrets and Vikings? And wouldn’t a few more high Templar help too? I used to play a lot, but I’m out of the meta.
Because Tempest are absolute garbage in a straight up fight. Build just a couple and you'll get nothing done, build four or five and you'll lose when Maru just runs into you. Not to mention how easy they are to just pop with Vikings thanks to how insanely slow they are to turn around.

this is how you beat airtoss, megaturtle with static, ghost, viking, lib and tanks + mass orbitals, never commit with your vikings until you have bled the protoss dry because templars will destroy your 50 vikings in 2 seconds.

yep, the collosi were fine but got picked off by siege tanks. tempests would have destroyed it, and he easily could because of already having carriers
And Maru could have built BCs to counter that.

@@Tokyo-go2du Never? Check GSL Season 1 2019 GrandFinal, I think Maru countered Classic Tempest with BCs in one of the games, probably game 4 or 5. TY also did something similar against another Protoss, maybe Stats. The idea is to be able to jump BCs behind the Tempest and mess them up. Cant let Tempest keep kiting away and shoot at the BCs.
Commentators don’t know that vikings don’t trade well against carriers
They trade okay. If you kite them well Vikings can gain the advantage over carriers.
Viking straight up murder Carriers with correct focus fire, its STorm that killing Viking .
@@tigera6 I often use carriers to kill vikings. They do a good job if you can already get your interceptors out and they aren't missile turrets nearby.
This does makes carriers terrible for attacking Terran bases, but great for defending your side of the map.
These days though, I only build tempest and void rays because Terrans at my MMR seems to just love planting a whole forest of missile turrets as soon as they see my Stargate.
@@00x0xx I think on equal army supply and proper control, Viking will beat Carriers. They would just ignore the interceptor and one-shot on one Carrier at a time. The advantage for Skytoss is when you hide 6-8 Carriers at the back and move them out when there only is like 10-15 Vikings from Terran, then they would smash everything.
@@tigera6 lol try that in practise mode and youll see. vikings got no chance, only with turrets to back them up. Maru is one of the only terrans that executes this well
