Funny because more often than not, even interference engines don’t bend valves as much as you think when a timing belt breaks. I’ve been getting cars for dirt cheap because people didn’t bother to check compression or inspect visually before just assuming the motor is shot. Not saying it never happens, it’s just less often than people think.
You could certainly argue that the LS430 was one of the best cars ever made. Never heard of a TB breaking and that's a real shame, but the car is still well worth fixing.
i just bought an 05 ls, just curious how many miles this had when the timing belt broke and if you know if the timing belt had ver been replaced previously
Yeah, same question. I own a 2000 LS430, and the timing belt was replaced by the previous owner 46k miles ago. Having seen this video, I'm now wondering whether it's high time to do a belt replacement 🤔
@@akozij111 I have a 190k 2001. The timing belts last insane long if you are somewhere without serious heat, mine was last changed at 110k ~5+years ago and it still will run and drive just fine, I’mjust procrastinating on fixing the timing belt
@@yungbanshee7651 I believe it’s 90k or 10 years but I was just tryna find out like how far that timing belt went before breaking, like was it way over due or dude it happen early
Every 100k if you don’t see record of it done anywhere then do it as soon as you buy it or get it done…. Just have an extra $1k lying around for that when you buy the car
No respect for their investment! That 05 LS was mint and now trash over a simple lack of the complete timing belt service. Why do ppl not take care of their rides? EsPECially the world renowned LS 430. There IS no other finer car in its class😊
An otherwise mint Lexus immediately going to a new home to get what it needs.
You love to see it.
Finally a scrapper with common sense 👍
These cars are one of the Holy Grails
If the previous owner put money into maintenance on the timing belt instead of different wheels and tires, they would still be driving it.
Those are oem wheels bro 😂😂
@@jumexsuave501nope. Spokes are much thinner than oem
@@jumexsuave501 Those wheels are absolutely not OE.
Not oem
Priorities. At least the car looks good on the side of the road with the hood up.
Beautiful car. I just got me a new too. I love Ls 430 best car ever made

Everyone’s snatching these cars like crazy
I bought an LS430 because of this video
I am the proud owner of one of a 01 LS430 and the thing is a beast. 23 years old and it is more reliable than our Chevy equinox with 85K miles on it.
I have this exact car. 285k miles. Replaced the TB twice and keep it up to date. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned.
The best car around the world LEXUS LS430.
You get these alot?
All this Lexus needs is exhaust valves. This is an easy fix.

Those wheels are beautiful on it. Anybody know them?
Can't tell from the video but I have some MSW wheels on mine that look very similar

I fixed mine $830 dollars all together
Looking at it being picked up by these forks makes me cringe
too bad we do not know how many miles on that car and where it came from
😢, $185 for the factory kit and some know how, could have been changed for cheap correctly🥺.
Never ever crush a lexus or a toyota from Japan
