Georges is not the problem, she was just frustrated and idiots in the crowd were bothering her, and she happened to fall as well. Those fans were being entitled and taking their attendance for granted. They should have shut up and watched the match, which Georges was right to tell them to do. Both Bencic and Gorges can be drama queens. This incident was started by Gorges, but I've also seen Bencic lose to Kenin while literally crying about it on the sidelines; no, it's not normal for North American crowds to get out of hand at tennis matches -- it's more normal to see Europeans shout from the stands and interrupt the players (ex: French Open); and we don't know what the Canadian guy said to Gorges, but it was definitely not said while she was playing and was probably something along the lines of "quite whining and get back to work."

It was me and my cousin who got booted. We bet on Bencic and were vocally pulling for her. The crowd was very quiet and we were used to a more US open style setting. We seemed a lot louder only because everyone else was so quiet. Goerges hated us from minute one of the match. She kept looking up at us and grew more frustrated as she started to lose. I left the match for a bit and I think my cousin said something about a past injury to try and rattle her. I think that set her off. Nothing derogatory was said at all and we certainly never made a noise during their rallies.

@@joshgarbemusic How is feeling entitled enough to directly address a player actively involved in a match with a dig about a past injury, if not derogatory, not highly problematic and lowdown? The US Open is played on enormous show courts where the din would swallow up any individual comment. What your cousin did was crass and trashy (not to mention not much of a vote of confidence in Bencic's ability to win the match without such 'assistance', which I doubt she'd have welcomed had she known) and I'm glad he got booted.
