  • This video describes the repair of surface and structural cracks in a concrete pool deck. I unfortunately didn't record the repair work itself, so in this video I explain the procedure and review the materials used.

Did you bring it to the paint counter for them to add the coloring? If not that’s why it was so thin. The coloring makes it opaque.

Can you advise how to fix cracking around the metal pole that goes into the concrete near the stairs of the pool. It’s cracking all around that pole.

If you have cracks due to movement wouldn't the epoxy filler eventually crack again?

Hi Mark I know its been awhile since you posted this video but I thought I would ask hoping I would get a reply. We have a old pool and the deck needs some updating and crack repairs and we want to do what you did on this video. My question is how is this product pool deck holding up.? I have seen some reviews that are good and some negative. the product we are going to be going over looks like it is almost exactly like what you have. So I guess my question to you is would you recommend using Pool Deck again. We just don't want something that is going to be slippery or look dirty after just a couple of years. Thank You Mark

Hi, Kelly. We sold our home in December of 2017. I repainted it once with this same product between this video and that sale. I would say the paint was pretty thin and required a few coats to really cover up darker spots and to look uniform. I'm not sure I'd go with this paint again. I'd look for something a bit thicker. Having said that, it doesn't make the surface and more slippery. As a reminder, I was painting over cool-crete - the textured surface that makes the patio non-slip. I WOULD recommend the Sika Flex for cracks. However, I would try to keep the Skis Flex deeper in the cracks and fill the top part of the cracks with concrete. I say this because the paint had a slightly harder time adhering to the Sika Flex and chipped a bit in the crack filled areas when pressure washed.
      Hope that helps. Good luck.

5 coats. That product is a complete waste if you have to do more then 2 coats.
