I wouldn’t think a higher truck would cause less fuel mileage because it’s aerodynamic. I would think you should be getting 8.5 mpg. Maybe something else is causing the issue. Tires or tuning
I believe they were capping it at year 2000 when I was there but they grandfathered in everyone with an older truck. They are on the good old buddy system though. They have lots of rules but they don't apply to everyone
If i bought a truck and leased on to mercer do you think i could do well i live in Maryland prime flatbed country and i don't mind running the northeast

Lol it's got a couple of issues that could help but compared to my old midroof it has far more wind resistance.
I watch your videos you know mercer does not take older trucks anymore anyone who leases onto mercer has to have a 2012 or newer truck

I think you could do well. Have you checked out F2F. They give you a lot more options

Buying a truck thats been discontinued is a recipe for disaster parts wise.
