I consider the introduction of a Bitcoin ETF to be a watershed moment in the financial markets. Normally, I wouldn't buy-and-hold assets, but eight months ago, I spent more than $300,000, and it warms my heart that this is still happening. We are now approaching a bull run, and I am confident that I will regain everything I lost.
Cryptocurrency is booming, particularly giants such as BTC and ETH. However, the market's rollercoaster nature is putting even the most seasoned investors to the test. This is why we should look for proper market analysis or seek guidance from certified market strategists.
Like everyone else, the only possible problem you might have is a FOMO. For boomers and senior citizens, the current market and economy are unnecessarily harder. I'm used to simply purchasing and holding assets, which doesn't seem applicable to the current volatile market, and inflation is catching up with my portfolio. My biggest concern is whether I'll survive after retirement.

Buying silver and gold is easy, but it is renowned for stability during economic hard times like this. Yes of course you still can. Reminds me of the guy who bought bitcoin in like 2011 and everyone was calling him a chump, then the market boomed and after a few years and he made a killing, whereas many people got burnt because they doubted.
The only issue you might have is the fear of missing out, just like everyone else. A good number of people discredit the effectiveness of financial advisors in exploring new markets, but over the past 10years I’ve had a financial advisor consistently restructure and diversify my portfolio/expenses and I’ve made over $1million in gains… might not be a lot but i'm financially secure.

@@TheAhmedvienna @bahmak2003 Is exactly right. It's credit when somebody owes you something. That's gold backed money. Dollars and bitcoin are not backed by anything. Money was backed by gold way back in 1912 when J.P. Morgan said: "Gold is money. Everything else is credit."
You just spend bitcoin. I can buy millions of products online. On Newegg for example. No need to go to some sleazy banker to get something physical before they print more currency and steal my purchasing power. Fiat goes to $0 because they print it until it's worthless. Printing bitcoin isn't even an option.

Those same arguments are valid today and always will be. Bitcoin - no matter its price - has no fundamental value or independent use.

Sold my APPL before it tanked, will buy at next major drop. I’d definitely need to make use of the $250k liquidity elsewhere. So what should I be looking at? Large cap or small cap stocks? Maybe crypto?
It’s going to be a wild year for these sectors, so you should def. invest in crypto. 60% of my portfolio is spread across tech stocks, crypto and Crypto/Gold ETFs.
Yes, my asset manager advised I spread further into mutual funds and crypto Etf and boy am I glad I did. The whole idea is: Don’t get too greedy and also to exit at the right time, so generally I do find having an adviser very helpful, because what Avg. Joe really has time to watch and comprehensively analyze the market?

Europac gold fund is at the same price is was in 2016, when gold was ~1200, and they haven't paid a distribution in two years, but you still get changed almost 2% annually. Meanwhile, BTC was at ~700, it's now at 60k. And the S&P was at ~2000, it's at ~5100 now. I feel bad for anyone that that lost value staying in that fund and missed out on life changing gains in other places.

When bitcoin dropped like silver is today he called it a crash. Today will be a buying opportunity for silver in comparison. Personally I think bitcoin gold, and silver are all excellent investments. I’m just tired of his bitcoin bashing, he just doesn’t understand the crypto market.

I'm overall outperforming a lot of assets by holding Bitcoin and a few other top crypto altcoins.
When my percentage goes down it goes down about double that of the s&p100/500 but when it goes up it goes up like 5 times the S&P rate.

Don’t be confuse buying the dip in a bear market, with guaranteed future returns. Just because that company is down 60%+ from ATH does NOT make it a sound long-term investment. Make sure you’re investing in great companies. kudos to harriet alice

Peter never talked about rate hikes. He has consistently said that the Fed would give up on fighting inflation and cut rates.
I said they should be hiking rates but they won't. Now others are talking about rate hikes. I still don't think the Fed will hike, but I know they should hike. That's why the possibility is finally being acknowledged.

24:00 Around that time point, where Peter discusses BTC, he is spot on. BTC behaved like any other risk asset and it does so today (04/22/2024), as well. With VIX cratering, SPX spiking, BTC is also seeing significant gains. Gold is getting hammered today, Silver even more. So, BTC is currently behaving like a risk asset not like a save-haven asset.

I used to be a Bitcoin maximalist but after learning more about economics and finance I believe Pete might be right about Bitcoin. Most people I know including those who own Bitcoin don’t know how it works or why they are investing in it they just know it went up a lot on price over the years. Most people who want to buy Bitcoin already have and almost the entire world has access to it. I think we’re right around the peak and this time the macro forces will really crash bitcoins price maybe under 10k this time. We will see, I own a little Bitcoin and plan on investing more after the next crash but I am no longer a die hard Bitcoin fan and I own more gold and mining stocks than Bitcoin all thanks to Peter lol

I almost always agree with Peter but one would think a critic of US preemptive wars would understand how this works. Vietnam, Afghanistan could never defeat the US squarely on the battlefield. If there was a fellow libertarian who actually applied their same critiques as harshly to other regimes as they do with the US regime, they'd realize Ukraine doesn't need to outright defeat Russia on the battlefield, they simply have to make the juice not worth the squeeze. Inevitably that day will come. It always comes. Based on the expectations before the conflict when we all expected a rapid Russian advance and victory, this special military operation can only be viewed as a colossal disaster for Russia. That doesn't mean you should want to fund foreign aid or prolong the conflict, but let's be realistic here. Russia is in no position to where they can sell their public that this has been worth it.
Also, Peter ignores the fact that the US has many many times meddled abroad to replace/depose leaders that didn't favour US corporations. Also, seems to totally ignore the fact that if Putin and IRan aren't restrained, and if Europe falls to these dictatorships, this WILL impact Americans. There is no question.
