victor sandeen In the original incarnation of the Khezu, he was the only blind monster. He couldn't see you, therefore no theme starts to play. The drawback, outside a lack of a monster theme, was that there was no indication of him seeing you (since he's blind) and that meant no superman dive (which meant most attacks that should easily be dived through became total bs). The only other blind Monsters are the Gigginox family, the Gore Magala, and Deviant Mizutsune. It could easily been that the decisions that influenced the Khezu was only put on the Khezu (considering its offputting appearance) and no other Monster got the same treatment as it would've been more lazy to include another non-themed Monster for no reason. And because of that, the "no-theme" of the Khezu was basically the "theme" of the Khezu as it is unique to him alone.
And he says there's no boss fight music for him. No, he doesn't, THATS THE POINT. THEY EMPHASIZE THE LACK OF MUSIC TO GIVE YOU HIS BONE CHILLING SCREECH

WolfyMelon in 4u without dlc he is not only a pain to fight but a pain to find. Besides the everwoods the only way to fight him is an extra hard DLC quest where he is powered up and frenzied. At Least is Capcom.gave us the ability to skip his fight in G rank.
Man everybody hates Khezu. I always loved it because it was so gross and creepy. And I'm a sucker for anything that shoots lightning, even if it is annoying.
My biggest problem with Khezu was, MH Freedom Unite was my first MH game and the moment that thing approached, my DS didnt have enough sharpness to hit him... Stupid and unexperienced as i was back then, i tried to use other weapons and at least Bow which took me like 40min just to realise i cant kill him :D But nowadays its just annyoing to play against him, the rest is okey.
It's like Capcom actually paid attention to us! Now, If Monster Hunter XX comes on 3DS and the Switch (in HD) with cross-play... oh please, Capcom! Grant us one more wish!
today on my first gypceros hunt in gen that thing played dead and i fell for it. i started carving and threw my cat of me accidentally when it started screeching. i attacked the thing again and it died again. i did not fall for that again and started chopping it to bits so it played dead again for at least 6 times. when it finally stopped bleeding and i got actual loot out of it i returned to my job (kill 20 bnahabras) and ALWAYS watching my grey paintball on the map because i was getting that paranoid. fuck that thing
How can you not like the monster that was designed by listing the most annoying mechanics and throwing them into one monster. He has all the goodness of stunning, poison, flashbang, wind pressure, and he gets to hurt you by randomly turning around
Aye, and I can tell you, Goldian is a lot worse. Gigginox is not sooo tanky and doesn´t do too much raw danage. Also, he doesn´t have fire attacks. Believe me, compared to gold rathian, Gigginox is just a minor nuisance.
Darthplagueis13 While Grath takes a while to kill, it won't do much damage if you have Black Gravios Armour. It's also stupidly weak to thunder. The Gigginox, however does a ton of damage the first time you fight it, poisons you enough to waste ten antidotes and ten herbal meds, takes longer to kill, and is way too fast. And you fight it in the dark.
My boi Wroggi is my favorite out of the Jags, but Baggi is a close second. Yet Great Jaggi is the first to be known... Dromes? NO. SCREW THE DROMES. (Those stupid unoriginal ripoffs of the Jags, the true Greats... just velociraptors, with varying annoying qualities... even though the were the original, I know they were just ripoffs... I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY)
Fun tip: If you block or adept dodge a Khezu shock attack, you can run INTO it while it's still shocking. For some reason once the shock attack lands in anyway on a hunter, it doesn't deliver anymore damage to that hunter specifically.
So, my top 5 least favorite and annoying monsters is 5. Teostra. So, that a cool and hard to fight beast, but i hate his charges. Realy. That is deadliest thing even a charges of any other monsters... 4. Khezu. Hate him because of his deadly and annoying "combo" when he paralize you and do charged jump on you after all. 3. Plesioth. That legged shark has badly hitboxes in 2gen and greatly triggered me by that in FreedomUnite. So,now he has normal hitboxes but not least annoyingly hipchecks... 2. Rajang. PLEASE, NO, JUST PLEASE... 1. All small monsters that can trigger you at all hunts. Like rhenoploses or bulfangos, or vespoids and bnahabras. These little devils make all to interrupting and ruining your hunt, and they do it!
I hate the Plesioth with a burning fucking passion it hipsmashed 6 times in row SIX! in one of the hunts I needed to but just loves it likes to spam that move normally only up to 3 times in a row which wouldn't be bad if its hitbox was wasn't broken, thankfully the DB Firestorm is worth it except the final upgrade requiring Hyper Plesioth scales (for 10 more damage for 200 total, 2 more water and 2 more fire for 30 each) the game can go fuck itself for all I care
Mine would go: 1) Dreadking Rathalos. Either you try and fight him normally where he is in the air constantly giving you no chance to attack, or you use flashbombs which is a rather unsatisfying way to hunt imo 2) Yian Garuga. Just nothing but insta charges and poison tail swipes. Lovely little piece of artifical difficulty 3) Agnaktor. Bounces my weapons at the start of the fight, and he constantly tunnels underground 4) Shogun Ceanataur. Always doing those really fast swipes with the claws which wouldn't be so bad if they didn't bleed. Also the gimmi-a-hug attack doesn't have any sort of wind up which is not much fun. 5) Cephalos. Loooooooooooooots of running after it as it just lazily swims around. Also its tail swipe is really annoying. At least you only need to fight it a few times during the game.
Man, Dreadking. Yesterday in Gen went against my first one. Solo. Atk up L, Tenderizer, a hammer with 180 atk and white sharpness, ate for atk up L. High rank Rathalos armour. Ended up carting just once and losing because of time. So frustrating.
I hate every single Rathalos and Rathian because they are annoying as hell to fight, Barioth because the damn thing will not stop moving, Gigginox because that constant poison pisses me off, Diablos and Black Diablos are the most unholy things I have ever had to fight and finally, any monster that had to be fought underwater for more than 5 minutes

Khezu is one of my fave monsters. I fought it so much in FU, it was the first monster I ever really learned. Its lack of music is your first hint towards the fact that its blind. It gave me my fave Hammer in 4U, a hammer that screams when you use it. And the best thing, is the way it bugs out when its critically injured and stands still for an extended period befor running away.
I love your videos game Taco, you have helped me out so many times with your monster hunter videos which are really helpful and hilarious at the same time. I've watched lots of your videos, I love it how you hate Diablos, gigantic shark dragons that flop around when you knock them over, and how you still can't quite grasp the mechanics of the pink rathian backflip. And seeing game tacos replace any and all background textures is HILARIOUS. 😄
What can I say, I play to have fun rather than stomp over everything XD When you know the mechanics inside and out, I think the charm fades and it becomes more like work rather than a hobby.
i hate diablos with a burning passion. good list. i would also add pink rathian because im currently struggling to complete the "in the pink" quest. it is just stupidly powerful.
About the kirin, the gear in most games gives you a good luck skill, for item rewards; so if you think about that part, maybe that's the "good fortune" they were going for
Let's see...off the top of my head... 5: Plesioth. Since I'm a total n00b at this, I didn't have the chance to encounter him in any of the earlier games, but I knew him by reputation when I purchased Tri Ultimate. I figured "as bad as this guy is, he'd probably be worse underwater". Hell no. Turns out, he's actually _easier_ to fight underwater. And he knows it too, since he never stays in the water for long enough. The ridiculous animations, the stupid stance, and of course that hipcheck. 4 Ultimate was pure catharsis. 4: Rathalos. I actually don't hate this monster. It's a wicked looking wyvern dragon and I respect that. And once you get used to it, it isn't so bad to fight. But whoever made it so you had to get its rarest drop _three times_ to advance the story in Tri was the real monster here. I must have killed thirty of the things before I finally got my hands on enough Rath marrow, and I've been hating it ever since. 3: Diablos. There has only ever been one instance where I ran out of time fighting a monster. And that was the Diablos fight in Tri. I love its roar--it sounds loud at any volume--but that's about it. If you don't have sonic bombs, or use them at the wrong time, you will never see it out of the sand, and when it is out of the sand, when you first fight it, you're probably using a weapon that's going to bounce off of roughly 90% of its body. Also, like Taco said, its armor looks dumb as hell. 2: Any variation of the Tigrex-style monster (except Nargacuga): I can honestly say that before this point, I never had the pleasure of fighting fast-forwarded footage of a laffy-taffy T-Rex. It's like trying to fight a chain flail stuck in an open, running washing machine; it's spinning constantly, you have no idea when to approach it, and you're too damn scared to anyway because stepping in for a second will see you sprawled out on the ground. And then Barioth comes along and, on top of all the stuff you have to worry about with Tigrex, it starts spitting out tornadoes so often you'd think the Tundra was a trailer park. And damnit, if I hate anything that makes me type so many analogies! Nargacuga, you get a pass, I'm willing to put up with you because you're awesome. 1. Rhenoplos: It's not a "monster" per-se, but I hate these things. They charge you out of nowhere and send you flying across the map, focus entirely on you when they get so much as stared at too hard by the monster you're fighting with, are the source of what must be the dumbest armor variants in the series (_especially_ the female variants) and literally look like the kind of turds you see when you've been eating bubblegum for a week straight after Halloween. The above monsters were annoying, but Rhenoplos is just _worthless_ in every respect.
Tbh I love khezus armor, the design is one of my favorites and it does have music, it’s very low tho, it sounds like wind blowing after it screams and then some deep horns
For me, it's the 2nd Gen Elders. Fighting those things is my favorite way to torture myself, as I end up wanting to take all of my dwindling love for the series, and crush it with a steamroller, DIO style. I don't care that they're 3(4 if you count lunastra) different monsters, they all have similar designs and hit boxes, and excluding Chameleos, even share goddamn attacks, some of their worst ones too.

Khezu is the monster I hate the most. It’s easy to kill, but it’s health is just too beefy. It’s scream is annoying unless you bring ear plugs.It is definitely a monster that needs a very large rework.
Tips for annoying monsters: Gypceros - Watch it's horn. If it's playing dead the horn will flash like a timer, provided you didn't break the horn. Khezu - Keep to the sides. Khezu doesn't possess a real attack that hits from the sides except the electric barrier and electric charge. Plesioth - Stay at the head or the back, and if it does the hip check go to the opposite side. Reduces the coverage you have to deal with.
I can understand the hate for diablos. It was my first large monster kill and after fighting so many of them they have become effortless. They had a pretty bad weakness to poison in 4U ,but im not sure if that was the inflated damage values or not. A monster truly worthy of hate it Tigrex. Damn things can burn in hell.
Oh yeah. One note that I probably should have mentioned is that all of these monsters change over time. The diablos in 3U is not the exact same as the diablos in XX, so everyone will have different experiences of them. First impressions can really leave a lasting impact!
I am aware of that. The Diablos in 3U was probably its hardest rendition. So hard they used the same move set for Apex. After the great hard horn fiasco of 3U, where I had to hunt 70 diablos for a hard horn so I could make Miralis armor, I have grown accustom to Diablos.
I respectfully disagree. 3U's Diablos was not the hardest version... Tri's Diablos was. All the behaviors and moves of G-rank Diablos... were available for the LOW RANK VILLAGE Diablos to use, and then some. Plus, there were no ice weapons to use in LR, because all of Barioth's stuff required Carbalite bar the SnS or something. You HAD to outmuscle Diablos, and it was not fun.
ah don't remember much about tri, but I'll take your word for it. Not sure if it was super weak to poison back then either. That was before I got into hit zones and weaknesses trying to speed up my hunt times due to being a solo gunner. My tolerance for diablos comes from experience in dealing with them. To me the worst monster is Tigrex.
Poison? PFFFFT. The only poison back then was Gigginox, who himself was a massive pain in the ass to fight. There was no Wroggi or Iodrome to fight. You HAD to deal with Khezu 2.0, and suffer if you wanted poison. But Diablos wasn't the worst in Tri... Oh no, that was Barioth. Take the worst from Narga and Tigrex, and roll it into one incredibly fast, agile, and hard hitting monster. It was so bad, HR guild groups REFUSED to touch it unless they absolutely had to. Barioth had the easiest job in the world stun locking and comboing you to death.
I'm actually surprised Yian Garuga didn't make the list. Don't get me wrong, I personally love the monster. But after fighting it hundreds of times I can say without a doubt he is the spammiest piece of shit out there. He has two damaging statuses, the most kickass scream, and doesn't stop hitting you. His only redeeming factor is his low flinch threshold. Also Rajang... fuck rajang.

Khezu is actually one of my FAVORITE monsters precisely for the reasons mentioned above. Bear with me. Let me explain, I started on MH Freedom Unite. As time went on, I really got the hang of the "adventure" that was monster hunter. I carved my way through the preys and dromes, made armor of them all. I ran into my first bird wyvern in the form of the chicken-like Kut-ku, then wiped the floor with the goofy congalala. I was a gun lancer and a long swordsman, and Up until this point, the game felt like an exhilarating adventure. Like I was an armored knight slaying fantastical beasts. Then came the Khezu. This was different. It's leech-like, slimy form, with a mouth riddled with disturbing fangs and a neck and tail that elongated to fit it's needs. The horrific way it just lay upside down menacingly, or crawled on the walls. This was not a beast. This was a monster. The sonic and flash bombs I had used to success before were useless. It's eyeless gaze holding you, making you wonder "is it looking at me?" Particularly, I LOVE that it has no music. It adds to the eerie atmosphere of the fight. You hear nothing but it's lumbered movements and ear shattering screams. Not roars, screams. Without the *privilege* of being seen meant that I didn't have invincible dodges I could depend on. This fight was when the tone of the game changed from an adventure, to a horror. I loved the Khezu because everything about it stayed true to its design and its purpose. To be a freak of nature. You're supposed to be uncomfortable. You're supposed to despise this creature. Fighting it was not heroic, it was a necessary extermination.... Also, I thought the assassin's creed-esque khezu armor was kinda cool :P
How dare you put King Great Jaggi anywhere near this list! In all honesty though great video and also Great Jaggi is probably in my top 20 maybe top 10 favorite monsters because of the Nostalgia fighting him on my MH4U demo on my 3ds whenever I was bored
I feel like the good luck from the Kirin comes in the form of Protection +10 on the S set. It didn't say how it would present it, but it did say "Good luck and fortune."
I find Khezu incredible easy once you understand the following: - You must stay close to it for it to not trigger it's ranged crap - You must not over commit and learn the aoe lighting telegraph He is a pain to fight as a gunner or if you have a gunner on your group. I remember having trouble with Hyper Khezu, but now I can solo it without it touching me. I'm nothing special at the game, you just need to find out about this. I found all the other entries much worse than poor Khezu,
The last two I resonate with on a spiritual level. But if I may, Gigginox is just a non shocky Khezu, Yian Garuga is a chore to fight, Basarios is just a pain, and Shogun Ceanataur and Damyo Hermitaur are extremely painful (especially SC) throwaways that are required to advance in some cases.
I quite like most of the monsters you don't lol. The ones I dislike are mainly congalala, cause it's just unnecessarily gross, though I like that he can buff himself by eating things. Apart from that, I just don't like it. I also don't like the various raptor-like dromes. There are just too many of them, and i would rather have other monsters. Chicken fish is also pretty horrible lol.
According to your list, I really encourage you to try some bowgunning. Most of the listed monsters can be totally destroyed with pierce shots (ceadeus and goldbeard ceadeus, known for being huge HP bags can be soloed in under 5 minutes for example), or on the other hand can be hunted away from cheap attacks like plesioth hipchecks, kezhu or diablos This is what actually makes MH games so good. the fact that when you have trouble with a quest you can always change your equipement or try different strategies in order to hunt better, and actually changing from one weapon playstyle to another sometimes feels like playing a totally different game. That's a ton of fun.
First off, I enjoyed this list. You actually gave reasons why instead of saying "Stupid Design Bro!" and leaving at that. However I was dismayed at the site of Diablos on the list, as he is actually my all time favorite monster in the series. I love his look (mostly undisputed) his moves I find interesting and he is one tough SOB that hits hard, I like that. One other thing people say is that they hate his Scream! Again, shocked! His scream sends chills down my spin and gives me the biggest grin on my face I LOVE IT! It's actually the only scream/roar in the game that I like. So I guess to each their own... My list of most hated 5 - Gammoth - Simply boring fight, he is slow and barely moves. He easily predictable and I often win the fight with out taking a single hit. He also has a massive HP Bar which just drags the fight on. 4 - Blangonga - I don't the like the general speed and movement of him and his cousin Rajang. They are always flying around the map, the entire battle is just spend running from one side to the other over and over. Rajang at least goes Super Sayian I can give him a break. 3 - Congalala - I hate monkeys, this one throws poo and farts... Ok.... I'm breaking my own rule... "Stupid Design Bro"! 2 - Plesioth - Spends half the battle submerged in water where it can't be attacked (other than gunner? I'm not actually even sure) Fishing him out is cool, but only works when he doesn't see you so you need to finish him in one combat. HE IS SO FREAKEN TALL, with out areal style you're swinging past the knees. 1 - All Elder Dragon Battles - Any battle that uses Cannons / Dragonator / Harpoons are automatically my least favorite battle in the game. I avoid these like the plague, they are so boring! On top of that, they can be some of the longest battle in the game if you don't have a party that knows what they are doing. Simple put "Tedious"
I think you missed the point of Khezu not having a sound track. It was meant in my opinion to give you a sense of dread. A sense of a silent and unfeeling monster that can get you from any given Angel(within a cave of course). A monster reminiscent of the silent blind warrior. And come on that design is creepy more so then fear infusing . That scream is of almost pure horror. I agree the move set is pretty derpy but good for a first real challenge.
Diablos is probably my most hated and at the same time, most loved monster I hate how her attack hits like a truck, literally and figuratively, and how fast it is for it's size but at the same time i love how she is so brutal and savage for the same reason and the scream/roar? I don't think any monster can give sheer terror as much as Diablos roar(perhaps Deviljho, but he sounds kinda weird) and not to mention it's just so baffling when i found out this 2 horned devil is actually a vegetarian, it's like finding out that giant tattooed gangster-looking neighbor of yours actually love kittens and teddy bear it's just....just... so *MOE*
My list: 5. Duramboros - An interesting monster, but not very fun to fight due to his size and inability to climb him like in Dragon's Dogma 4. Lucent Nargacuga - A very cool and interesting monster, but having to farm him for cloudy moonshards has a habit of making him very irritating 3. Pink Rathian - A high rank monster that you have to fight with mostly low rank gear that makes her very infuriating 2. Dire Miralis - Rains fire that you can see from above and requires you to swim underwater to defeat him, irritating and not even that difficult for a final boss 1. Khezu - it's a dick with wings and electricity, not a fun or interesting thing to fight
The problem with Khezu I had or rather the thing I hated about it was how they handled the lack of vision in regards to dodging since you could only superman-dive away when the Monster saw you and since Khezu is basically blind and you didn't get the icon indicating the monster is able to see you the only thing you could do is roll which wasn't as effective (experience comes from MHFU) That was so bs back then
Are you high? DIablos is one of the most badass and COOLEST MH on the game and IN 4U his G rank amor is freaking GOOD and easy to make for GS users like me.
Came in the series only in MHW, so Bazelgeuse. It's a giant cockroach on wings, it comes to disturb your fights with other monsters (my highest count is 5 times for the same monster), it poops bombs, and when you actually fight it, it's a no brainer.
Personal list: 5. Khezu: Same reasons has most people. Just a boring drag for the armor, weapons and don't get me started on capture missions. 4. Kirin: Obvious resons. Jumps around like a horny rabbit on crack. 3. Gravios+ANY monster with a "Death beam": No explanation needed. Screw death beam monsters unless I can have a death beam. 2. Blagonga and Congalala: They are just annoying; Conga farts death and Blagonga is death (But Blagonga armor is nice) 1. Gypceros: They may be easy compared to other monsters but the blinding, poison, potential to steal your stuff, moving around like the Garuga (Or, to be more precise, the Garuga moves like the Gypceros) and it's "false deaths" (Closer to random resurrections) make him WAY too annoying for me to bother with high and G rank hunts with this guy. Bonus: Every single Rath (I would say they can go to hell but they probably rule it), Diablos but only because of the drop rate of some items, Contrary Scales meant I had to binge Chaotic Gores (Although those hunts were fun with other people), a few other Elder Dragons but have exceptions for being worth it later
Dalamadur for me. Friggin' eternal damage sponge that just stands there taking hits until he finally decides to attack, then he does one of his two 1-hit-ko moves that are not necessarily hard to avoid, but for some reason there's always SOMEONE who gets stomped. If you avoid it, then it's back to hitting him for a few minutes again until he decides to attack again. Comes packed with RNG meteor annoyance and an absolute nightmare of a camera. I also lost the count of the times I got my ass up that pillar and jumped on top of his head only to have SOMEBODY make him flinch right at the very last moment. He's the most un-fun monster for me BY FAR, and the only one I actively avoid fighting because of providing nothing but frustration. Pre-MH3 Plesioth is a fair contender though.
Blangonga.. fricking Blangonga.. its like fighting a homing missile, every damn time it throws itself at you it hits you, no matter where you're at, and even if you have god's grace and just miss it.. IT DOES IT AGAIN! AARGHH
See Diablos is actually one of my favourite monsters because I fought it in GRank in 4U A LOT to get its armour for my hammer. I got so adept at fighting it that now in World using a Charge Blade the entire fight is just "Lol, guard point". So satisfying.
Diablos wasn't so fun in FU, but in Tri he was my favorite monster to hunt. I was a lance user, and it felt like a real challenge soloing a duel Diablos quest. Was a lot of fun.
little note: I don't like the fight, not the monster in general. Personally: 5- Malfestio... because confusion. 4- Rajang... because to break its horn you need a lot of patience to wait the window to attack its face 3- Monoblos... I found its charges very frustating ... more than Diablos. 2-Bulldrome... because it is the only "big" monster to not have any breakable parts + its damned changes while you are fighting a deviant. 1- Brachydios ... because of its dammed tail
It's weird that Khezu is so hated by almost everyone but Japan actually thinks khezu is really cute and is very popular over there, hence why khezu was added to both fourth generation games (not including grank games cause they are expansions and no monsters are removed). The entire fourth generation was really just one big nostalgia trip considering 4u's monster roster and the entire purpose of generation was to celebrate the entire series.
Wow, I never knew I was a rebel. Khezu is my favorite. I like his attacks, his armor and I really enjoy what they did to him in the future games. I remember in the original MH there was some gimmick to get him, so never got to fight him there.
The khezu has no music because it has no eyes (at least that's why in the original game). It weirdly ties into a fight of skill and patience and not simply trying to hack as fast as possible. Their is no music to purposely keep the player un-pumped for the fight and the in game equivalent of this is that your character can't jump for evading or even get the run speed increase that occurs during other normal fights. The patience was real for anyone seeking the true devil slicer LS line.
how come people hate Diablos fight so much? In MH4U, he gets wreckt so hard...even at 140 levels, you just gotta get him out of Apex first. I use para DB on him, First I let him dig, then sonic bomb him right away, flash him out of the air, get a Para after he comes out of the ground, then set a pitfall, he falls in, then as he flys out I use a flash bomb, and as he falls down, I usually para him again, then I place a shock trap before para ends, and then as he gets out of trap, he is usually dead if you are in a group of 4 hunters. Diablos has so many exploits its ridiculous. Also, if someone has a KO weapon, they would add in a KO to one of the steps I mentioned.

The drawback, outside a lack of a monster theme, was that there was no indication of him seeing you (since he's blind) and that meant no superman dive (which meant most attacks that should easily be dived through became total bs).
The only other blind Monsters are the Gigginox family, the Gore Magala, and Deviant Mizutsune. It could easily been that the decisions that influenced the Khezu was only put on the Khezu (considering its offputting appearance) and no other Monster got the same treatment as it would've been more lazy to include another non-themed Monster for no reason. And because of that, the "no-theme" of the Khezu was basically the "theme" of the Khezu as it is unique to him alone.

WolfyMelon in 4u without dlc he is not only a pain to fight but a pain to find. Besides the everwoods the only way to fight him is an extra hard DLC quest where he is powered up and frenzied. At Least is Capcom.gave us the ability to skip his fight in G rank.

Man everybody hates Khezu. I always loved it because it was so gross and creepy. And I'm a sucker for anything that shoots lightning, even if it is annoying.
My biggest problem with Khezu was, MH Freedom Unite was my first MH game and the moment that thing approached, my DS didnt have enough sharpness to hit him... Stupid and unexperienced as i was back then, i tried to use other weapons and at least Bow which took me like 40min just to realise i cant kill him :D But nowadays its just annyoing to play against him, the rest is okey.

today on my first gypceros hunt in gen that thing played dead and i fell for it. i started carving and threw my cat of me accidentally when it started screeching. i attacked the thing again and it died again. i did not fall for that again and started chopping it to bits so it played dead again for at least 6 times. when it finally stopped bleeding and i got actual loot out of it i returned to my job (kill 20 bnahabras) and ALWAYS watching my grey paintball on the map because i was getting that paranoid. fuck that thing

Aye, and I can tell you, Goldian is a lot worse. Gigginox is not sooo tanky and doesn´t do too much raw danage. Also, he doesn´t have fire attacks. Believe me, compared to gold rathian, Gigginox is just a minor nuisance.
Darthplagueis13 While Grath takes a while to kill, it won't do much damage if you have Black Gravios Armour. It's also stupidly weak to thunder. The Gigginox, however does a ton of damage the first time you fight it, poisons you enough to waste ten antidotes and ten herbal meds, takes longer to kill, and is way too fast. And you fight it in the dark.
Giadrome is still the best Drome, but Baggi is still the best Jaggi clone.

Fun tip: If you block or adept dodge a Khezu shock attack, you can run INTO it while it's still shocking. For some reason once the shock attack lands in anyway on a hunter, it doesn't deliver anymore damage to that hunter specifically.
So, my top 5 least favorite and annoying monsters is
5. Teostra. So, that a cool and hard to fight beast, but i hate his charges. Realy. That is deadliest thing even a charges of any other monsters...
4. Khezu. Hate him because of his deadly and annoying "combo" when he paralize you and do charged jump on you after all.
3. Plesioth. That legged shark has badly hitboxes in 2gen and greatly triggered me by that in FreedomUnite. So,now he has normal hitboxes but not least annoyingly hipchecks...
2. Rajang. PLEASE, NO, JUST PLEASE...
1. All small monsters that can trigger you at all hunts. Like rhenoploses or bulfangos, or vespoids and bnahabras. These little devils make all to interrupting and ruining your hunt, and they do it!
I hate the Plesioth with a burning fucking passion it hipsmashed 6 times in row SIX! in one of the hunts I needed to but just loves it likes to spam that move normally only up to 3 times in a row which wouldn't be bad if its hitbox was wasn't broken, thankfully the DB Firestorm is worth it except the final upgrade requiring Hyper Plesioth scales (for 10 more damage for 200 total, 2 more water and 2 more fire for 30 each) the game can go fuck itself for all I care

I like plesioth, unpopular opinion- I know
Mine would go:
1) Dreadking Rathalos. Either you try and fight him normally where he is in the air constantly giving you no chance to attack, or you use flashbombs which is a rather unsatisfying way to hunt imo
2) Yian Garuga. Just nothing but insta charges and poison tail swipes. Lovely little piece of artifical difficulty
3) Agnaktor. Bounces my weapons at the start of the fight, and he constantly tunnels underground
4) Shogun Ceanataur. Always doing those really fast swipes with the claws which wouldn't be so bad if they didn't bleed. Also the gimmi-a-hug attack doesn't have any sort of wind up which is not much fun.
5) Cephalos. Loooooooooooooots of running after it as it just lazily swims around. Also its tail swipe is really annoying. At least you only need to fight it a few times during the game.
Man, Dreadking. Yesterday in Gen went against my first one. Solo. Atk up L, Tenderizer, a hammer with 180 atk and white sharpness, ate for atk up L. High rank Rathalos armour. Ended up carting just once and losing because of time. So frustrating.

Khezu is one of my fave monsters. I fought it so much in FU, it was the first monster I ever really learned. Its lack of music is your first hint towards the fact that its blind. It gave me my fave Hammer in 4U, a hammer that screams when you use it. And the best thing, is the way it bugs out when its critically injured and stands still for an extended period befor running away.

I've watched lots of your videos, I love it how you hate Diablos, gigantic shark dragons that flop around when you knock them over, and how you still can't quite grasp the mechanics of the pink rathian backflip. And seeing game tacos replace any and all background textures is HILARIOUS. 😄
What can I say, I play to have fun rather than stomp over everything XD When you know the mechanics inside and out, I think the charm fades and it becomes more like work rather than a hobby.

About the kirin, the gear in most games gives you a good luck skill, for item rewards; so if you think about that part, maybe that's the "good fortune" they were going for

Let's see...off the top of my head...
5: Plesioth. Since I'm a total n00b at this, I didn't have the chance to encounter him in any of the earlier games, but I knew him by reputation when I purchased Tri Ultimate. I figured "as bad as this guy is, he'd probably be worse underwater". Hell no. Turns out, he's actually _easier_ to fight underwater. And he knows it too, since he never stays in the water for long enough. The ridiculous animations, the stupid stance, and of course that hipcheck. 4 Ultimate was pure catharsis.
4: Rathalos. I actually don't hate this monster. It's a wicked looking wyvern dragon and I respect that. And once you get used to it, it isn't so bad to fight. But whoever made it so you had to get its rarest drop _three times_ to advance the story in Tri was the real monster here. I must have killed thirty of the things before I finally got my hands on enough Rath marrow, and I've been hating it ever since.
3: Diablos. There has only ever been one instance where I ran out of time fighting a monster. And that was the Diablos fight in Tri. I love its roar--it sounds loud at any volume--but that's about it. If you don't have sonic bombs, or use them at the wrong time, you will never see it out of the sand, and when it is out of the sand, when you first fight it, you're probably using a weapon that's going to bounce off of roughly 90% of its body. Also, like Taco said, its armor looks dumb as hell.
2: Any variation of the Tigrex-style monster (except Nargacuga): I can honestly say that before this point, I never had the pleasure of fighting fast-forwarded footage of a laffy-taffy T-Rex. It's like trying to fight a chain flail stuck in an open, running washing machine; it's spinning constantly, you have no idea when to approach it, and you're too damn scared to anyway because stepping in for a second will see you sprawled out on the ground. And then Barioth comes along and, on top of all the stuff you have to worry about with Tigrex, it starts spitting out tornadoes so often you'd think the Tundra was a trailer park. And damnit, if I hate anything that makes me type so many analogies! Nargacuga, you get a pass, I'm willing to put up with you because you're awesome.
1. Rhenoplos: It's not a "monster" per-se, but I hate these things. They charge you out of nowhere and send you flying across the map, focus entirely on you when they get so much as stared at too hard by the monster you're fighting with, are the source of what must be the dumbest armor variants in the series (_especially_ the female variants) and literally look like the kind of turds you see when you've been eating bubblegum for a week straight after Halloween. The above monsters were annoying, but Rhenoplos is just _worthless_ in every respect.

For me, it's the 2nd Gen Elders. Fighting those things is my favorite way to torture myself, as I end up wanting to take all of my dwindling love for the series, and crush it with a steamroller, DIO style. I don't care that they're 3(4 if you count lunastra) different monsters, they all have similar designs and hit boxes, and excluding Chameleos, even share goddamn attacks, some of their worst ones too.

Tips for annoying monsters:
Gypceros - Watch it's horn. If it's playing dead the horn will flash like a timer, provided you didn't break the horn.
Khezu - Keep to the sides. Khezu doesn't possess a real attack that hits from the sides except the electric barrier and electric charge.
Plesioth - Stay at the head or the back, and if it does the hip check go to the opposite side. Reduces the coverage you have to deal with.

I can understand the hate for diablos. It was my first large monster kill and after fighting so many of them they have become effortless. They had a pretty bad weakness to poison in 4U ,but im not sure if that was the inflated damage values or not. A monster truly worthy of hate it Tigrex. Damn things can burn in hell.
Oh yeah. One note that I probably should have mentioned is that all of these monsters change over time. The diablos in 3U is not the exact same as the diablos in XX, so everyone will have different experiences of them. First impressions can really leave a lasting impact!
I am aware of that. The Diablos in 3U was probably its hardest rendition. So hard they used the same move set for Apex. After the great hard horn fiasco of 3U, where I had to hunt 70 diablos for a hard horn so I could make Miralis armor, I have grown accustom to Diablos.
I respectfully disagree. 3U's Diablos was not the hardest version... Tri's Diablos was. All the behaviors and moves of G-rank Diablos... were available for the LOW RANK VILLAGE Diablos to use, and then some. Plus, there were no ice weapons to use in LR, because all of Barioth's stuff required Carbalite bar the SnS or something. You HAD to outmuscle Diablos, and it was not fun.
ah don't remember much about tri, but I'll take your word for it. Not sure if it was super weak to poison back then either. That was before I got into hit zones and weaknesses trying to speed up my hunt times due to being a solo gunner. My tolerance for diablos comes from experience in dealing with them. To me the worst monster is Tigrex.
Poison? PFFFFT. The only poison back then was Gigginox, who himself was a massive pain in the ass to fight. There was no Wroggi or Iodrome to fight. You HAD to deal with Khezu 2.0, and suffer if you wanted poison.
But Diablos wasn't the worst in Tri... Oh no, that was Barioth. Take the worst from Narga and Tigrex, and roll it into one incredibly fast, agile, and hard hitting monster. It was so bad, HR guild groups REFUSED to touch it unless they absolutely had to. Barioth had the easiest job in the world stun locking and comboing you to death.

I'm actually surprised Yian Garuga didn't make the list. Don't get me wrong, I personally love the monster. But after fighting it hundreds of times I can say without a doubt he is the spammiest piece of shit out there. He has two damaging statuses, the most kickass scream, and doesn't stop hitting you. His only redeeming factor is his low flinch threshold. Also Rajang... fuck rajang.

I came back to rewatch this and I forgot I'm actually in this video around the Kirin part, and I brought dual blades that were barely even sharp enough to make a dent
Khezu is actually one of my FAVORITE monsters precisely for the reasons mentioned above. Bear with me. Let me explain,
I started on MH Freedom Unite. As time went on, I really got the hang of the "adventure" that was monster hunter. I carved my way through the preys and dromes, made armor of them all. I ran into my first bird wyvern in the form of the chicken-like Kut-ku, then wiped the floor with the goofy congalala. I was a gun lancer and a long swordsman, and Up until this point, the game felt like an exhilarating adventure. Like I was an armored knight slaying fantastical beasts. Then came the Khezu.
This was different. It's leech-like, slimy form, with a mouth riddled with disturbing fangs and a neck and tail that elongated to fit it's needs. The horrific way it just lay upside down menacingly, or crawled on the walls.
This was not a beast. This was a monster.
The sonic and flash bombs I had used to success before were useless. It's eyeless gaze holding you, making you wonder "is it looking at me?"
Particularly, I LOVE that it has no music. It adds to the eerie atmosphere of the fight. You hear nothing but it's lumbered movements and ear shattering screams. Not roars, screams. Without the *privilege* of being seen meant that I didn't have invincible dodges I could depend on.
This fight was when the tone of the game changed from an adventure, to a horror. I loved the Khezu because everything about it stayed true to its design and its purpose. To be a freak of nature. You're supposed to be uncomfortable. You're supposed to despise this creature. Fighting it was not heroic, it was a necessary extermination....
Also, I thought the assassin's creed-esque khezu armor was kinda cool :P

I feel like the good luck from the Kirin comes in the form of Protection +10 on the S set. It didn't say how it would present it, but it did say "Good luck and fortune."
I find Khezu incredible easy once you understand the following:
- You must stay close to it for it to not trigger it's ranged crap
- You must not over commit and learn the aoe lighting telegraph
He is a pain to fight as a gunner or if you have a gunner on your group.
I remember having trouble with Hyper Khezu, but now I can solo it without it touching me. I'm nothing special at the game, you just need to find out about this. I found all the other entries much worse than poor Khezu,
The last two I resonate with on a spiritual level. But if I may, Gigginox is just a non shocky Khezu, Yian Garuga is a chore to fight, Basarios is just a pain, and Shogun Ceanataur and Damyo Hermitaur are extremely painful (especially SC) throwaways that are required to advance in some cases.
Oh god it's been like 4 years since I last played Monte hunter and I almost cri a little with this.
I quite like most of the monsters you don't lol. The ones I dislike are mainly congalala, cause it's just unnecessarily gross, though I like that he can buff himself by eating things. Apart from that, I just don't like it.
I also don't like the various raptor-like dromes. There are just too many of them, and i would rather have other monsters.
Chicken fish is also pretty horrible lol.
According to your list, I really encourage you to try some bowgunning.
Most of the listed monsters can be totally destroyed with pierce shots (ceadeus and goldbeard ceadeus, known for being huge HP bags can be soloed in under 5 minutes for example), or on the other hand can be hunted away from cheap attacks like plesioth hipchecks, kezhu or diablos
This is what actually makes MH games so good. the fact that when you have trouble with a quest you can always change your equipement or try different strategies in order to hunt better, and actually changing from one weapon playstyle to another sometimes feels like playing a totally different game. That's a ton of fun.
First off, I enjoyed this list. You actually gave reasons why instead of saying "Stupid Design Bro!" and leaving at that. However I was dismayed at the site of Diablos on the list, as he is actually my all time favorite monster in the series.
I love his look (mostly undisputed) his moves I find interesting and he is one tough SOB that hits hard, I like that. One other thing people say is that they hate his Scream! Again, shocked! His scream sends chills down my spin and gives me the biggest grin on my face I LOVE IT! It's actually the only scream/roar in the game that I like. So I guess to each their own...
My list of most hated
5 - Gammoth - Simply boring fight, he is slow and barely moves. He easily predictable and I often win the fight with out taking a single hit. He also has a massive HP Bar which just drags the fight on.
4 - Blangonga - I don't the like the general speed and movement of him and his cousin Rajang. They are always flying around the map, the entire battle is just spend running from one side to the other over and over. Rajang at least goes Super Sayian I can give him a break.
3 - Congalala - I hate monkeys, this one throws poo and farts... Ok.... I'm breaking my own rule... "Stupid Design Bro"!
2 - Plesioth - Spends half the battle submerged in water where it can't be attacked (other than gunner? I'm not actually even sure) Fishing him out is cool, but only works when he doesn't see you so you need to finish him in one combat. HE IS SO FREAKEN TALL, with out areal style you're swinging past the knees.
1 - All Elder Dragon Battles - Any battle that uses Cannons / Dragonator / Harpoons are automatically my least favorite battle in the game. I avoid these like the plague, they are so boring! On top of that, they can be some of the longest battle in the game if you don't have a party that knows what they are doing. Simple put "Tedious"
Caedeus easily has one of the best themes throughout all of monster Hunter. Too bad his fight was kinda Garbo.

I think you missed the point of Khezu not having a sound track. It was meant in my opinion to give you a sense of dread. A sense of a silent and unfeeling monster that can get you from any given Angel(within a cave of course). A monster reminiscent of the silent blind warrior. And come on that design is creepy more so then fear infusing . That scream is of almost pure horror. I agree the move set is pretty derpy but good for a first real challenge.
Diablos is probably my most hated and at the same time, most loved monster
I hate how her attack hits like a truck, literally and figuratively, and how fast it is for it's size
but at the same time i love how she is so brutal and savage for the same reason
and the scream/roar? I don't think any monster can give sheer terror as much as Diablos roar(perhaps Deviljho, but he sounds kinda weird)
and not to mention it's just so baffling when i found out this 2 horned devil is actually a vegetarian,
it's like finding out that giant tattooed gangster-looking neighbor of yours actually love kittens and teddy bear
it's just....just... so *MOE*
I love that when khezu was bought up that someone mixed the khezu sounds with death metal making a death metal song 🤘🏻

My list:
5. Duramboros - An interesting monster, but not very fun to fight due to his size and inability to climb him like in Dragon's Dogma
4. Lucent Nargacuga - A very cool and interesting monster, but having to farm him for cloudy moonshards has a habit of making him very irritating
3. Pink Rathian - A high rank monster that you have to fight with mostly low rank gear that makes her very infuriating
2. Dire Miralis - Rains fire that you can see from above and requires you to swim underwater to defeat him, irritating and not even that difficult for a final boss
1. Khezu - it's a dick with wings and electricity, not a fun or interesting thing to fight
The problem with Khezu I had or rather the thing I hated about it was how they handled the lack of vision in regards to dodging since you could only superman-dive away when the Monster saw you and since Khezu is basically blind and you didn't get the icon indicating the monster is able to see you the only thing you could do is roll which wasn't as effective (experience comes from MHFU)

Although many people hate the underwater sections. I loved them, it added a much needed mixup at the time and was my favorite thing to do.

Are you high? DIablos is one of the most badass and COOLEST MH on the game and IN 4U his G rank amor is freaking GOOD and easy to make for GS users like me.

Came in the series only in MHW, so
Bazelgeuse. It's a giant cockroach on wings, it comes to disturb your fights with other monsters (my highest count is 5 times for the same monster), it poops bombs, and when you actually fight it, it's a no brainer.
Personal list:
5. Khezu: Same reasons has most people. Just a boring drag for the armor, weapons and don't get me started on capture missions.
4. Kirin: Obvious resons. Jumps around like a horny rabbit on crack.
3. Gravios+ANY monster with a "Death beam": No explanation needed. Screw death beam monsters unless I can have a death beam.
2. Blagonga and Congalala: They are just annoying; Conga farts death and Blagonga is death (But Blagonga armor is nice)
1. Gypceros: They may be easy compared to other monsters but the blinding, poison, potential to steal your stuff, moving around like the Garuga (Or, to be more precise, the Garuga moves like the Gypceros) and it's "false deaths" (Closer to random resurrections) make him WAY too annoying for me to bother with high and G rank hunts with this guy.
Bonus: Every single Rath (I would say they can go to hell but they probably rule it), Diablos but only because of the drop rate of some items, Contrary Scales meant I had to binge Chaotic Gores (Although those hunts were fun with other people), a few other Elder Dragons but have exceptions for being worth it later

Friggin' eternal damage sponge that just stands there taking hits until he finally decides to attack, then he does one of his two 1-hit-ko moves that are not necessarily hard to avoid, but for some reason there's always SOMEONE who gets stomped. If you avoid it, then it's back to hitting him for a few minutes again until he decides to attack again.
Comes packed with RNG meteor annoyance and an absolute nightmare of a camera. I also lost the count of the times I got my ass up that pillar and jumped on top of his head only to have SOMEBODY make him flinch right at the very last moment. He's the most un-fun monster for me BY FAR, and the only one I actively avoid fighting because of providing nothing but frustration.
Pre-MH3 Plesioth is a fair contender though.
Blangonga.. fricking Blangonga.. its like fighting a homing missile, every damn time it throws itself at you it hits you, no matter where you're at, and even if you have god's grace and just miss it.. IT DOES IT AGAIN! AARGHH

See Diablos is actually one of my favourite monsters because I fought it in GRank in 4U A LOT to get its armour for my hammer. I got so adept at fighting it that now in World using a Charge Blade the entire fight is just "Lol, guard point". So satisfying.
Diablos wasn't so fun in FU, but in Tri he was my favorite monster to hunt. I was a lance user, and it felt like a real challenge soloing a duel Diablos quest. Was a lot of fun.
little note: I don't like the fight, not the monster in general.
Personally:
5- Malfestio... because confusion.
4- Rajang... because to break its horn you need a lot of patience to wait the window to attack its face
3- Monoblos... I found its charges very frustating ... more than Diablos.
2-Bulldrome... because it is the only "big" monster to not have any breakable parts + its damned changes while you are fighting a deviant.
1- Brachydios ... because of its dammed tail

It's weird that Khezu is so hated by almost everyone but Japan actually thinks khezu is really cute and is very popular over there, hence why khezu was added to both fourth generation games (not including grank games cause they are expansions and no monsters are removed).
The entire fourth generation was really just one big nostalgia trip considering 4u's monster roster and the entire purpose of generation was to celebrate the entire series.

Wow, I never knew I was a rebel. Khezu is my favorite. I like his attacks, his armor and I really enjoy what they did to him in the future games. I remember in the original MH there was some gimmick to get him, so never got to fight him there.

The khezu has no music because it has no eyes (at least that's why in the original game). It weirdly ties into a fight of skill and patience and not simply trying to hack as fast as possible. Their is no music to purposely keep the player un-pumped for the fight and the in game equivalent of this is that your character can't jump for evading or even get the run speed increase that occurs during other normal fights. The patience was real for anyone seeking the true devil slicer LS line.

how come people hate Diablos fight so much? In MH4U, he gets wreckt so hard...even at 140 levels, you just gotta get him out of Apex first. I use para DB on him, First I let him dig, then sonic bomb him right away, flash him out of the air, get a Para after he comes out of the ground, then set a pitfall, he falls in, then as he flys out I use a flash bomb, and as he falls down, I usually para him again, then I place a shock trap before para ends, and then as he gets out of trap, he is usually dead if you are in a group of 4 hunters. Diablos has so many exploits its ridiculous. Also, if someone has a KO weapon, they would add in a KO to one of the steps I mentioned.
