    We are Electrical contractors so we usually install Generac or Kholer systems but it's pricey to have installed we usually charge about $5K for the install and is about $5K for the generator. So it's about a $10K investment for most homes. And that will not give you but about 60 to 75 Amps on 240. So you can't run alot on even one of those.
    Love the new channel Tim!

    When the trees get ice, it’s so pretty. Hearing limbs break in the silence of the night is kinda cool too. Until it get a power line.

    I have this same generator and I can run it either on gasoline or charcoal gas using a gasifier. I had a 30 amp inlet installed on the house with a generator interlock on the panel. Man, do I wish I had that property.

      It doesn't matter but its best to turn the ac breaker on last or the load in the traile on last after everything is plugged in.

    How should you store this generator? Do you fill it all the way and then add in a fuel stabalizer? Any brand you would recommend? Also how often do you drain the oil and replace it?

    • @ridgelifereviewshowtos
      @ridgelifereviewshowtos  Před 8 měsíci

      Change oil 25hrs first time then every 50hrs of use. I turn off fuel valve and let run empty and then put stabilizer on tank with fuel. Stabil is brand I use.

    Can you use a regular car battery for a generator and what other kinds of batteries you can use for a generator ?

  • @DiegoConLimon
    @DiegoConLimon Před 10 měsíci +1

    What is that 12V charging cable that the generator comes with?
    The manual doesn't specify what it is for. Is it for charging the battery?

    Why would my predator 8750 trip the breaker unless I use an adapter eliminating the ground pin. Every time I plug in a cord without the adapter it trips. I haven’t actually grounded the generator but I wouldn’t think that would have anything to do with it. My neighbor has a smaller predator inverter that requires the same reducer due to tripping the breaker when plugging in a cord instantly

    What kinds of oil it use ? Where do you put the oil in at ? Is it better to use ethanol free gas ? How to connect the battery ?

    My 8750 will not reach 240 volts on the digital display and I understand others have the same problem. Is there a fix or do I need to drain the unit and return it to Harbor Freight?

    • @ridgelifereviewshowtos
      @ridgelifereviewshowtos  Před 3 měsíci

      I don’t ground for portable but if leaving for long time will. There isn’t a throttle just a choke. There is auto throttle or high switch.

    Weird I just bought one, fired it up and it stays stuck on 120v lost power in a snowstorm last night needed the 240 for the furnace… took it back this morning, got a new one, built it , fired it up and same thing. 121v I don’t get it.. watching your video I did the exact same shit and 120. Must be a bad batch

    Predator is not known for their quality. Do not put all your eggs in 1 basket. You better have a plan B, because the likelihood of that generator dying when you need it most is very high. When that day comes, remember you heard it right here first.
