Amazing how he seems so fake but his lyrics are so real. Love what he’s doing. Not many people can pull this off at the level he is.

Most find once all strings are cut we end up in the flames grasping desperately for a string. Life is cruel and if you follow the advice of the wealthy you will be in the flames also. Oliver Tree is no different. He has and seeks for you to give attention so that he will have more while you sink into the flames.
The dichotomy between the character and the music is what got me so interested in Oliver. I always tell my friends to listen to the music before watching a video if I'm introducing them to his music. Some people just don't like comedy music and I want them to realize that the character is completely separate from the music. It's so well done that both aspects stand on their own.

But okay… so you’re telling me the studio recorded Forget It has that cool guitar solo dealy that Casey does at the very start of it? Or that I’m Gone has the Alien Boy Reprise attached at the end, too… right? Is it like a hidden track or something? And musically, Alien Boy Reprise sounds nothing like Alien Boy either. Almost like it’s slower or something. Perhaps it’s in a totally different key? And here, Alien Boy seems to have some kind of “Intro”…? Cause on the album version… it kinda just starts with his singing, doesn’t it?
Oh, and what about the switch into live drums from the electronic drums on All That..? Cause I’m not hearing them at all, either. Same with Life Goes On, which IMO, sounds 100 times better with the live drums instead of programmed ones. But I must be totally wrong, because you told me otherwise.
I could go on, but hopefully you get the point. Just because YOU hear the same thing doesn’t mean it’s the same thing. Some are minor differences, sure… but some are not. Music nerds such as myself get excited over these kinds of things, especially when it’s professionally recorded instead of sourced from an iPhone in a crowd surrounded by hundreds of screaming fans.

idk still can't top his old Splitting Branches album for me. (just kinda my favorite) but they're two different equal worlds really at the end of the day. just alien to each other. All this new stuff has been SO good too. very refreshing to see an Artist expression that is on it's own plane of existence above the bullshit just raw Art.

Oliver's amazing as usual, such a performer. I expected that, but what I didn't expect was his band to absolutely nail every song. If you've ever done studio work, you know how difficult this is. An unbelievable job. You guys are fabulous.

He definitely does not lip sync, it is all live. You can tell because he is obviously talking in between songs. That is a live mic.
