Though ESPN tries to minimize it, Pacers played Boston pretty even record-wise in the regular season (2-3). We beat them in a game which Haliburton didn't finish, and we bounced them out of the in-season tournament, which is about as close to the playoffs during the regular season as you're going to get. Pacers now are greatly improved from where they were in the regular season, especially on defense. And I'm reading that Tatum has been struggling some in these playoffs? We definitely feel we have a puncher's chance in this one.

The series went to 7 when the Knicks were playing G-Leaguers…no one beat the brakes off of anyone.
No one also expected the random injuries to be occurring to half of the Knicks squads either. As much as I joked about the Knicks players dealing with a "Final Destination" type of scenario, I honestly would have made a lot of money in Vegas predicting that Brunson was going to be the next one to be injured.

If two teams that the national media believes are rougher, tougher & play with credibility AND are likely to unseat the Celtics as the best in the east…lose star player after star player to a team going thru the playoffs, there has to be a story there. Wait, hold on, these are soft tissue injuries on the lower extremities, abdominal muscle injuries, foot injuries, hand injuries…this team they are playing must be the Bad Boy Pistons or a Pat Riley led franchise…right?
Opponent star players have been not able to finish the series against this team. A DNF? Is there a Draymond Greene type enforcer out there for this team? The defensive player of year?
No. Literally, the pace of play, the total number of trips up & down the court, the passing rotations around the half court offense and picking up 94 feet by the 2nd unit are the 2024 version of when the no-huddle spread offense hit college football with RG3. Did i mention the 3 pointers…
Dame, Giannis, Brunson, OG, Hart all missed time unable to continue medically. And Portis missed time due to ejection bc of frustration.
I am not suggesting that the 2024 Pacers are an all time, legacy NBA team but credit is due that opponents have not been able to outlast them…to this point.
Pacers got almost a free ride to ecf. They battled mostly injured teams. Now to get to Boston and we all know the outcome. Its a big blahh for this finals. Let this be a lesson that there is a reason you have 10+ players on a team this entire playoff run. The Knicks coaching staff only played about six players maybe seven and it caught up to them the Indiana Pacers go at least nine in the playoffs. Tom does this everywhere he has been, he plays six players and runs them down to the ground. Injuries are part of the game, but I believe some things are avoidable…. Josh Hart literally played every minute of every game until his body gave up. They forced OG to play that killed the rotation he was not ready and when Julius Randle got hurt during the season He should’ve been out that game They were up by a large amount.

Not a Knicks fan but as a longtime Bulls fan, I would say you were great this year but Thibodeau is not the coach you need at this stage of your renaissance. He is good at creating a defensive identity but he doesn't know how to balance it with a good offense, he just can't get it.
There's a reason why Doc Rivers and Thibodeau had only one memorable playoffs run since the the Celtics title in '07, they are glorified assistant coaches who think they are contender head coach material.
Doc Rivers is ok for the offense but sucks in defense, vice-versa for Thibodeau.
Now that the Knicks brain trust is operational and credible, they should focus on bringing in an offense-mindef assistant coach and develop their bench or search for proven role players, especially shooters...
