You would think replacing the serpentine belt in a Cherokee 3.2 would be a easy job however it isn't. This job isn't for the faint of heart thats for sure. You'll need to remove the inner fender cover, drain the radiator and then remove the coolant hoses just to change the belt.
What's the reason for disconnecting the battery? Just precaution??
When you pulled on that tensioner with that torque bar, did you have to loosen it first? Or is it constantly under the required tension, and all you did was pull it down to pull off the belt? I was just wondering how the tension is set correctly.
How to turn a 5-minute job into a 4 hour mess
Literally me right now
How long can this belt last, in years or miles?
Bearings, tensioner and idlers pulleys are solid eh?
👍🏻👍🏻
Wow, all that just to change the belt, hopefully you don't have to do that belt tensioner or idler pully anytime soon. Not much space between the frame rail and bolts.
If your name is Austin, DO NOT ATTEMPT 🚫🚫🚫
Chrysler has lost their mind with this shitbag design. Unreal.
A shop would charge you $500 for that job.
I saw a video (from Haynes manuals CZcams) showing this done from the top, after removing air box and intake channel. Not possible on the trailhawk?

Yeah, on closer inspection that Haynes video must be a different model, maybe the 4 cylinder motor?
i don't think you can do it from the top because you need to remove the rad hoses
