    I remember when that room was just an edit suite! You've certainly been an asset to the Tiny Giant team!

    Hey Ryan. Very nice setup. 10:28 I would assume a similar setup with an extended power cable would also be possible on the BMD Studio 6k as it uses the same 12 V 4-pin XLR, right? Any cable recommendations for longer DC cable runs (25 meter)?

      Same connector yes, will depend on what voltage range it accepts.. the ursa goes from 8-20v from memory, there’s a good chance the studio would be the same but I can’t see it in the manual.. this setup works for 50m which is the most I’ve tested so far

    Been watching your videos for a while Ryan - thanks. Useful stuff. I get the clever stuff, but sometimes, you mention simple things and in particular - you've mentioned a few times about how you have X computers but can access them from anywhere in the trailers or studio? At some point, could you show us how somebody can sit down at a position and grab, say, the computer doing graphics, but then switch to controlling a different one? I can't quite get my head around how the system does this?

      Thanks for watching! Ahh good question, so I don’t really have anything like that here, I do have chrome Remote Desktop setup on all the computers for remote access though. In the trailer I used the Adder XDIP system for KVM over the network. You plug in the output of your computer to it then you plug your monitors to a receiver unit. And with a key press you can select which computer you want to control. Hope that makes sense

    Hey Ryan ... this is a great setup!! Quick question, when you're connecting to a Zoom Meeting/Webinar, and you're looking to push either a SuperSource, Camera Feed, or GFX/PPT Slides into Zoom, are you pushing this through the "Camera Feed" within Zoom or the "Screen Share" feature? I'm assuming this is all going through the Camera Feed within Zoom ... and if so, do you have any special settings within Zoom to optimize the feed?

    • @RyanSomerfield
      @RyanSomerfield  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Good question, but no I dont use the share screen, the framerate is just not high enough for that. I do try and use 1080P accounts where possible though. Which essentially need 10x pro accounts to activate which is annoying.. or trigger 720 using a zoom room. that and we make sure the text in the powerpoints are as large as possible to make up for the lack of quality!

    Used Zoom iso for the first time on a job today. Great piece of software but I still need to work out the best way to rout the audio outputs. Thanks for the tour!

      check out my video on that, but if you want try out the 2.1 beta, it allows audio out of sdi without any aditional patching which is nice! czcams.com/video/eTHKLcXdAV0/video.html

    Good on ya' moving the computers OUT, and fibre cabling them to the control room "head end" so to speak. Nobody wants to work in a data center (heat & noise). 4:04 What/How are you generating the LUFs monitor for the Director station? Is that just a software meter or something more advanced? Like (in my imagination) maybe the TC Electronic Clarity M Stereo has an HDMI out you can dump into a Multiview? Just curious on that one detail.

    • @RyanSomerfield
      @RyanSomerfield  Před 11 měsíci

      that would be nice having the ability to overlay easily! but this one is actually built into this tvlogic monitor... which is awesome!

    been watching for a while now, do you still have the airstream and if so how much has that changed with use?

    • @RyanSomerfield
      @RyanSomerfield  Před 11 měsíci

      Hey mate, client is still rocking their airstream, have used it a few times when they have hired me to TD it, not much has changed, they swapped out one of the stage boxes to make it bigger and have a kvm in there which works well, plus added antennas and a few bits and pieces, but overall pretty much the same technically
